Year one had its problems but it kept people playing and that's because the real level cap was tied to the raid and you actually had to level stuff up (armor, weapons, and subclasses) love the grind or hate it but it kept people interested in playing it. Now it's way to easy to level up to cater to casuals which has completely ruined the game and what really made it fun.
Had this in the thread but not many actually saw it so I'm editing.
For all the "what do you think destiny should be or what is d2 lacking people"
1. D2 is a sequel not a dlc and should have had certain things that were GUARANTEED with its release.....NEW character class with all new subclasses to unlock, NEW enemy types, NEW types of playlist activities( not just revamped ones like public events), and of course the only one they actually gave us new areas to explore......these things should have been in the release for $60....instead all we got was a way overpriced dlc to which they took out all the old content.
2. This game seriously needs a horde mode simply for fun at end game just like pvp
3. Iron banner should have something that seriously defines it from regular crucible.....I'd personally like to see it be 4v4v4 and have power level matter.
4. They need to learn the meaning of the saying "the more the merrier" larger fireteams in strike playlists with a harder difficulty of course and public events.....preferably even like a 12 man raid that is more bullet sponge instead of strategy (not that they don't still need the 6 man raid that is strategy) with matchmaking simply for fun not for raid loot....maybe just give a guaranteed exotic or something meaningless but the point is it'd be something fun for a big fireteam and wouldn't matter if a few were carried or had mics.
5. Weapons and armor should need to be leveled up just not in the same way they used to.....maybe have vendors sell weapons and armor with set perks that don't need to but if you come across one while playing and you like the perks you have some activity tied to unlocking them (kinda like the original 3 exotic swords and the strike you had to do before you could get it).
6. I think it's about time they come out with a new elemental type.....corrosive maybe (kinda like thorn)....it'd be nice for 4th subclass with a new element also
7. Think they should take a page from borderlands on this one and have 4 weapon slots.....kinetic, elemental, sniper/shotgun/fusion rifle, and then power(also for the love of god bring back machine guns!)
8. This one is just a neat idea I've had about making our ships kinda like our home and let you spawn into them and decorate with all of your collection.
9. Engrams turned in should give a 3 item option to chose from so you don't end up with as many duplicates
10. Let you choose what game type you want to play in crucible.
11. More customization options with weapons armor and subclass.

Datto has some interesting thoughts on the token system. I could get behind it IF the changes he suggests are implemented. https://youtu.be/iw4SsLna-bM
Are you done grinding planetary tokens for that armor you wanted? Are you done grinding the gunsmith for that rare gun you want? Are you done grinding the easy new raid for that armor you want because the raid guns suck? Are you done grinding the crucible for your Better Devils? Are you done grinding Trials of the Nine tokens because you can't go flawless due to sweaties? Well have I got the answer for you! Behold, IRON BANNER! (Now with 80% less iron) Grind endlessly for new Samurai themed armor and guns with an exclusive Iron Banner sticker, but with the added urgency of a limited event making you grind harder than ever before! Enjoy the absolute worse this game has to offer, with unbalanced teams, bad spawns, and meta players using the most broken weapons. Fight an endless war of attrition against camping Warlocks with infinite health, or get killed in literally under a second by the Last Word 2.0. Enjoy the endless droning of sirens as the clan you solo-qued up against captures the entire map. Lose to teams with FIVE TIMES YOUR SCORE who have been spawn killing you for the past five minutes. Get killed by a rocket launcher before you're finished the spawn-in animation, or get cross-mapped by fusion rifles. Try to capture a zone while getting hit from 8 pulse grenades, which aren't at all over powered when compared to the other grenades. Discover how useless anything that isn't the meta really is, as you're killed by the Antiope, Uriel's Gift, MIDA, and Last Hope consistently. Learn how powerful Fist of Havok is as the only roaming panic-button super. Ask yourself why Bungie left the Hunter "Wombo-Combo" in the game, only to never use the wombo-combo again, as your super, Shadow Shot, is literally just Nova Bomb, but completely useless. Wonder what the point of player choice is, as you discover the "One Path to Victory" Shaxx is always talking about is simply playing the meta, with any semblance of skill optional. But how is this better than the Iron Banners of old? The only difference between Iron Banner and regular Crucible? Gone. That pesky lore of the Iron Lords nobody cared about? Gone. The uniquely modeled weapons of previous Iron Banners? Gone. The ability to buy items as you progress? Gone. The chance to get Iron Banner items as an post-game reward? Gone. The ability to re-roll weapons? (bet some of you forgot about that) Gone. The rewarding experience of obtaining high level loot and powerful items? Gone. All those toxic downsides of Iron Banner are now more dead than the Iron Lords. Instead, grind away for meaningless tokens for the RNG slot machine that gives no guarantee your time will be rewarded. Win low level gear and weapons with an exclusive Iron Banner sticker, with a Iron Lord's chance in a SIVA replication chamber of getting the new Iron Banner exclusive Samurai armor, which doesn't match the theme of Iron Banner one bit. Listen to Overwatch easter eggs that remind you of better games you could be playing, and end your week feeling hollow for spending all your time grinding for the armor you wanted, only to get an endless supply of Iron Banner themed garbage sidearms. Let us take a moment to thank Bungie for this event. This event that showcases every single flaw of Destiny 2. This event that showcases the faults of the Crucible. This event that showcases how unrewarding the game is. This event that has managed to royally piss me off. Thank you Bungie. P.S. I'm never playing Iron Banner again...until some stupid new gear comes out and I force myself to endure more of this cancer and rip my hair out.
4 AntwortenI disagree about catering to the casuals. In d1 I played any chance I had free time. Up until the last day when D2 came out. Now I play 3 to 4 hours a week Cuase I don't have much time to play. But I don't care anymore it's become Soo boring I have nothing that pulls me to come back for more. Yesterday I literally logged on looked at the planets and had no idea what to do, I actually fell asleep. I think the game has been catered to people with half a brain and 1 hand.

1 AntwortenThey really don't know their core audience do they, they thought by making factions an event that it seems like new content when it comes around. Iron banner was shoddy and the rng is unbelievable. Its so annoying because they absolutely nailed the campaign, it was brilliant. The raid needs less puzzle encounters and more actual bosses. Every new event is guaranteed to be tokens and it shows lack of creativity. Too many things removed for no good reason other than to stop elitism and encourage casuals, them same casuals who don't stick around long term. Crucible is a laughing stock compared to how it was in d1, 4v4 just doesn't work at all, slow boring and full of camping mida fools. There is so much right with this game but so much wrong also.

Bungie: There are too many one hit kills in the crucible, so hand over those special weapons, guardians! Also Bungie: here is some unlimited power ammo in the crucible! After the recent iron banner, I almost 100% hate destiny

Give it Time. It’ll get better. I hope.

20 AntwortenIm not here to say your wrong or anything because it is your opinion. However you have to realise that destiny 2 is not destiny 1. All you did in destiny 1 was get the same shit over and over. Then they loved releasing 40 dollar dlc. You guys aren't looking at it at the right perspective. I played the game when it first came with the white edition ps4. When they released taken king I quit for a year. They did improve it with added content. Destiny 2 has all the shit that was in destiny 1. They updated the attack rotations of enemies and made it easier to get legendaries. This is because the whole game is based of of 2 types of currency instead of 3. Not just that but destiny 1 was a huge pain in the ass. When you wanted to buy a legendary it would cost nearly all of your legendary shards. Yet when you have a lot of them you can only hold up to 150. Glimmer whas the same way. A limit of 25k was a pain in the ass to deal with. All they did was remove limitations add extra content and made it more enjoyable. The game wasn't inteded to be a huge grind like destiny 1. And they told you exactly what the game was going to be. And saying they "overhyped it" is a bullshit statement. They just released a new game like they should of done before the taken king. And you guys are the ones at fault for overhyping it. Destiny 1 was without a doubt a kids game. It took forever to get anything done which made people with jobs not want to spend their spare time grinding away. Now its a little more fair for all audiences. So if your going to say " They are forgetting their main audiences" your forgetting the rest of the people who would like to play but actually cant. And you don't give any good reasons as to why the games bad. You guys just like to shit yourselves and talk trash on the game because its new. When destiny 1 came out it was the same way. People overhyped it and complained. These games get better with age. Quit being autistic and just play the damn game. At this point you dumbass people are looking for flaws.

2 AntwortenEveryone is entitled to their two cents so I shall share with you mine. Destiny 2, just like any other game, has its pros and it's cons. I understand destiny 2 is very far from a perfect game but The thing that kills it is the community. You say you want more of a grind, then iron banner comes and the grind is all of a sudden to much for you? If I were the devs or Luke smith I would have trouble to keeping up with the community. Besides saying destiny sucks and destiny is trash why don't you give some productive feedback that will actually help go towards something. Now I know above it sounds like I'm defending it, by all means I am not cause I agree there is a lack of end game content and a lot of repetition gameplay-wise. The should've stuck with the rank up System in destiny 1, remove nightfall timers, and have random perk rolls on guns. There's lots of ways destiny could improve. Tho the biggest concern now is endgame. The destiny games are unlike anything else I have played. I've never been more in love with a game. I just want to see it improve and hopefully let the community see that it has potential.
-
Let me start by saying i love Destiny. i love the community. i love the lore and the universe but theres things that need to be addressed. I've played this series since the first beta for Destiny1. i have made life long friendships with people in the game. something I've very rarely found in other games. I want this to be the world i know it can be and its because of this love for the game that we as a community need to address the problems and give feedback. so I've put a few bullets together that i think would breathe life back into this player base. If your reading this saying, Destiny 2 isn't dying, Destiny 2 is fine the way it is, well I'm sorry. numbers don't lie, and the numbers are saying the player base is dropping substantially. this happens with all games but you need to remember this is only a month old. here's how i suggest u fix it, just my opinion 1. Give us back Custom pvp........simple......no seriously why was this even removed? it took us 3 years to get it and its just poof, gone. 2. Return strike, Raid, Trials and Iron Banner specific items and perks. right now, there's absolutely no reason to do these events because they are all re-skinned slightly altered versions of weapons in the standard legendary loot tables. albeit there are a couple exceptions but very few, which leads to next 3. Return weapon and armor unique rolls/perks. the grind in D2 is non existent because there's no reason to try to get weapons if they're all the same within their fire rate/impact brackets. again some exceptions but no where near the kinds of rolls u could go for in destiny 1. 4. More/ new exotics and better perks on them. there should be like 4 that are good for endgame stuff (exaggeration but really not that many really stand out above the rest) 5.legendary shard rework/fix. I'm sitting on 800+. this should not be a thing and only strengthens the fact that gear means absolutely nothing compared to the few "META" items. I've talked to many players and the consensus is typically that D2 right now feels like the end of Destiny 1 year 3, when people had nothing left to go for, most people have things they want, gear and exotics they were trying to get and honestly there's no incentive for Sherpa's or guides to help people who haven't got items through activities. at the end of the day all these things above cry out one thing....... GIVE US BACK THE INCENTIVE TO PLAY THE GAME. as one of my best friends puts it. any who remember the days of forever 29 in destiny one know it sucked but the incentive to do raids and trials and everything else never went away. we Ground Destiny 1 into the earth, but it was fun to do it with our friends to see who could hit the top first, who could get the item they've been longing for. That experience has been ripped away. I HOPE they revive this game. I HOPE they recognize the problems and breathe life back into a game universe i love, a game universe that made real world impacts on friends and lives. as it stands right now, I'm really glad i only bought the base game. love me or hate me, i hope the best for this community and this games future.

It has become pretty clear that destiny 2 was just a cash grab. Bungie has done a very poor job on destiny 2. They asked for constructive criticism but all they have to do is go back in the destiny 1 forums and scroll thru. There were so many good ideas and not one of them was implemented into destiny 2. Even something as simple as let us replay levels and select our own modifiers. That would be simple. The modifiers are already in game (although they suck compared to destiny 1s nightfall modifiers) and the levels are available to replay even tho they only let you do 3 a week. But let us select modifiers for the 3 missions we can do and a reward for each. Take off standard rolls on weapons and gear. It makes the game stale. I think 90% of the community already has every weapon in the game. Standard rolls on weapons would be ok if they had 1000 more weapons to choose from. I'm not asking for borderlands level of changes to weapons (although bungie surely could use a look at the legendary weapons in that game to make the exotics in destiny 2 more unique and actually feel exotic). There's no point in going further tho and stating what else is wrong bc they won't listen. They never have. Otherwise the great ideas everyone had in d1 would be in d2. But not one of them are.
-
I'm just done with destiny at this point. There are so many better games that developers truly take pride in making. This game is just a reskin of destiny and it's not even a good reskin. It's too bad because the lore and universe is awesome, but it's executed so poorly. I'm curious to see what the Osiris dlc has in store but I'm honestly done with this game.
-
Agreed 90%. The 10% I disagree with is the grind was not what kept people playing. The gear that we grind for is what kept people playing. You honestly believe that if we had a D1 grind with the exotics and legendary gear we have in this game people would keep playing. Absolutely not. None of these guns are really all that interesting to play with. Yes I know it's to make the game balanced in PvP. But honestly I don't care about balance I want the guns that was fun to play with back. Visions of confluence, Red Deah, Thorn, Lastword, Gajallarhorn, Mythoclast, fatebringer and many others from D1 vanilla with set rolls that were light years better than the gear we have now.

18 ascendant energies please.

Destiny is the culmination of nearly 15 years of Halo. Destiny 2 is the product of piggybacking off of Destiny's success.
-
5 AntwortenVanilla D1 also had godroll weapons to grind for, godly raidweapons with unique perk combos and awesome exotics that changed the gameplay. There always was a carrot to chase. And last but not least: Crucible was fast, chaotic and fun as heck. This isn‘t Nostalgia, Y1 Destiny was the best time of my gaming life despite all the QoL flaws.
-
If it turns into what it should be it will still be a reskinned D1. Imagine if this was two films/movies. Do you think anyone would think the second one was an improvement on the first? In a film everything would advance and not one thing has in this game. Weapons and armour have gone backwards. In a film they would have had new ones with new special effects to show them off. This game has grown out of DLC for D1.

Bearbeitet von TheRainstate: 10/17/2017 5:19:55 PMMy only gripe is the token system combined with loot slot machines for NPC vendors. They are basically RNG loot pinatas flooding you with items devaluing the gear to the point that 90% of it gets trashed. To top it off the materials you get for trashing them start stock piling up because there is little to nothing to do with them.
-
What bothers me with Destiny 2 is the Bungie keeps making mistakes that they obviously shouldn't. Get it together, Bungie.
-
1 AntwortenBearbeitet von II I N D Y II: 10/17/2017 4:13:15 PMAnd they think this shit will sell on PC?? LMAO Don't waste your money. The PC community is gonna tear this game apart. Bad mistake on Bungie's part.
-
Bearbeitet von delarme15: 10/17/2017 4:59:35 PMI just want to know why they changed the weapon system around. Snipers and shotguns are basically useless for the most part. They don’t feel like power weapons at all.
-
Yeah I may give bungie 60 more dollars for a better running D2(pc) but I'm pretty much done with this game. It's just hot garbage
