I doubt anyone on the team will read this, and the title sounds sarcastic, but I just have to say thank you for making this quest. Last October, my close buddy killed himself, and I've been dealing with it, trying to grieve and deal with it, but it's not so easy. It eats away at me, missing him every day. When I booted up Destiny 2 and it showed my memories, the first time I did things with people, and TTK came up as me, my wife, and him, I almost cried. It hurt so badly. So when
Failsafe
says she was getting messaged from
her former team, and we had to go find the captain for her, to confirm he was dead,
it was painful. And at the end of the quest is when it hit me that, to me, this is the most valuable quest in the game, when she says
even when you know someone's gone, you try to imagine a world where they were still here, no matter how impossible.
I'm crying now, as I type this. Thank you for making this quest. Thank you for making me feel this pain more. It reminds me of him, and I value that very much.
Long time fan,
Anthony Thibault

Dang, I have no words.

I have experienced so much loss in my life, including my grandfather and my best friend in the last month alone. I try to push it away and ignore it, but it's still too soon. My condolences for your loss.

Reading this made me tear up a bit. Never had a close friend do anything like this so I can't relate but you wrote this very well and you can tell this was written from the heart. Much respect to you, sir. Keep pushing forward and you'll get better. Eventually the sadness will turn into laughter and great memories. That's how it was when my grandmother died at least.

Don't mind the ass hats on here, most of us have a friend who did the same, it all affects us differently. Point and case, your journey is not over. Keep making those memories, just incase there's an afterlife he can watch you let your own destiny unfold.

I'm sorry for your loss

As someone who works, counselling people with depression and suicidal ideation, every day. It was moving to read this. All the best Guardian!

People always try to say something inspirational. I have experienced death of a loved one and know none of it ever really helps. But I can tell you with the passage of time as life unfolds you will experience new joys and happy moments happen. I wish you all the best bro.

Stay strong, guardian

Not really sure how to deal with something like that but if D2 helps then good for you man. Good for you.
-
Push forward, Guardian. His story may have ended, but yours is still being written. Make it a memorable one.
-
I teared up reading this. Your friend lives on through you! His Light is will forever shine bright! Eyes up, Guardian!

All the best guardian.

theres nothing I can say to match what I want to say. Anthony the same thing has happened to me, my best friend committed suicide, and I have the same exact story as yours. When it showed our memories, I cried. Guardian theres no words for how it feels.

1 AntwortenFirst.. I am so sorry for your loss. I kind of drown out the world around me when I play.. But your post made me realize how valuable that mission was, and the message behind it. I lost my sister a few years ago.. to some unfortunate events.. I cant say the pain of losing someone close ever fades.. even though my sis passed in 2006, the thought and memories of her still make my heart ache.. Failsafe's words ring quite true.. even in the statement that even though they are gone, our memories of them will keep them alive.. Stay strong, guardian..

1 AntwortenMan this quest was incredible. It definitely felt "different" from all of the other quests in the game. And I think that line about imagining another dimension where the captain exists was so unexpectedly moving... Like, this is how an artificial intelligence articulates the concept of heaven... Incredible. I'm sorry for your loss.

I have not yet played this missions, so I didn't read the spoilers, but I wish you the best of luck bro. Heads up!
