In the months leading up to D2’s release I kept up with the news to learn what was going to be introduced into the game. One of those things were flashpoints, locations on planets where players could find a boss to take down as a group, leading to some sweet loot. Some sources instead mentioned it being planetwide as opposed to it being in one area on a planet.
However, playing the game now I see that it’s just doing public events on a planet. So what happened to the world boss? And to the one specific location?
Did I miss something that explained this? Or was there no boss because it’s the first week?
I’ll post the sources here so you guys can see what I’m talking about, hopefully you can share your insight.

I feel like maybe i have seen a boss but didn’t realize it was a flashpoint boss. If thats the case... they’re a lot smaller than I thought they’d be.
Please, educate a clueless guardian.

Bearbeitet von Usedtobeabear: 9/13/2017 9:50:24 PMYesterday when I was on Nessus I saw "blahblah(sorry don't remember his actual name) the frenzied mind has come" or something like that. It was in the cistern though which is like the biggest area and even though I was zooming around on my sparrow I never saw a "frenzied mind". A few minutes went by and it said "he retreats, victorious". Could that have been a world boss, or was this a normal occurrence?

Someone else mentioned this, but I think the idea of "Flashpoints" are to be similar to a "Flash mob" where the objective is to encourage more players to visit the same planetary destination for activities. However, you can finish Flashpoints in a day and I think Bungie should rotate the location daily. Guardians should be required to do multiple a week to qualify for rewards, up to say 4, with another reward at 6 and 7 days of completions.

Too fill the flashpoint milestone meter, you must finish public events. However, a boss enemy (varying ones) will always spawn alongside the public events on the flashpoint planet

Not a flashpoint but I could see a world boss event happening at the EDZ in the yard right below the church. When the enemy comes together if you have players around and keep at it they seem to pick up in size similar to Urzok at Skywatch. Maybe a world boss spawns if you hit a certain point.

Flashpoints sounded cool.. I had first thought it would be a more involved "the enemy moves against each other" kind of thing, and a boss appears during that.. But nope. Its just lame old public events.

2 AntwortenI was a bit disappointed also. I was hoping for a large difficult world boss that would take a significant amount of players to take down. Guess it's just the heroic public event bosses?

3 AntwortenFlashpoints just appear to be public events, at least that's the challenge they're under.
