I personally enjoyed it, but my friends refer to me as the video game evangelist. I have a knack for finding the good in things instead of focusing on the bad. Anyone else out there enjoy the beta?
Why or why not? I'd love to discuss rationally.
Edit: Thank you everyone for your amazing input and points of view. I'm off to bed. I'll be sure to read through everyone's posts.

Bearbeitet von bundy5050: 7/29/2017 10:19:51 PMI personally was very excited for the beta. I even invited friends who couldn't get it over to my house. The graphics were stunning, (as expected) the weapons system wasn't as great as I thought, but has a lot of potential, but the classification of "power weapons" should be smaller. I liked the emotional aspect of the game, it was a bold statement. This was my first experience with preordering and participating in a beta, but I felt bungie didn't give us enough of a look at the game. Multiplayer was only fun when I was playing with friends and voice chatting, otherwise you couldn't communicate, which was crucial to competing in the countdown game mode. I liked the new subclasses, and the added ability for your guardian. Overall, I wasn't the biggest fan of the beta, though I enjoyed it when I played with friends. But I will say this, bungie has a lot of work to do if they want D2 to be a well liked game.
All in favor of storming ghaul's castle or whatever for knocking our ghost of the edge of the ship say aye!
I enjoyed it a lot. All the gripes they seem to be working on. Feeling positive for D2!!

I thought it was great for what we were given. People seem to forget that this beta was not for US it was for Bungie for internal testing. That's why we were not given a lot of content. I'm sure they were able to gather a ton of data that I hope will help D2 become even better. As far as what we actually got to play though I enjoyed Homecoming the strike was really good and I like the new 4V4 VS the chaos of 6V6

4 AntwortenIt was more boring to me then fun, as a PvP person. It seems like the PvP was dumbed down. I am just hoping we were using the worst guns and that there is slower ttk guns in the game.
-
I really enjoyed it, the weapons were great, classes felt fresh and the strike was unique and great. Of course I'm in the minority of gamers who play to have fun and not play so I can complain about things for the sake of complaining.

I enjoyed it very much. I played on both consoles.
-
Yes. I just want Destiny 2 to come so I don't get bored. I was very impressed by the beta.

5 AntwortenIs focusing on the bad things the new trend because that's edgy
-
Yep it was pretty fun but boring easily cause of the limited content.

2 AntwortenIt's meh at best when you're playing with friends, but the game is trying to force you to quit playing when you're going solo into any activity. In PvE in general, during the story mission and the strike: There are no exciting events happening at all and your Ghost is just trying to be a clown whenever he desires. And for PvP, it takes FOREVER to take someone down when you're only using a primary weapon. It just feels like the game is forcing you to play it a certain way with the forced subclass builds and the lack of damage from individual players. Also, I didn't see any surprises or twists that made me think "cool" or "I didn't see that one coming". It's more like "Ok, I'll just do that" or "It says shoot it, so I'm shooting it". Big disappointment. With all the info we got before the beta was out I already wasn't expecting much but this was even less than I thought. I will end on a good node because the Farm did look more like a social space then any D1 social spaces, even without vendors.

Nope not really. Quite disappointed.

1 AntwortenFirst misson was a blast , strike was ok, a bit too long and I really HATED the new 4 vs 4 PVP .
-
I didn't, but I say the new pve stuff, and it gave me hope again.
-
The beta was really good. What could have made it better if abilities recharged quicker.
ABILITY SPAM MUST LIVE ON
First run through the strike was interesting, couple more runs and it was tedious. Before you jump on that point, I've done d1 strikes countless times and still have fun on most of them.

Bearbeitet von Kahliden: 7/29/2017 1:33:58 PMMovement felt sluggish, class customization was gone completely, the guns (we could use) (imo) felt like shit, new weapon system if odd and makes no sense. Power regeneration is so freaking slow it feels like they are nonexistent. No, I most certainly did not like the beta, and I expected a hell of a lot more out of it than just a single boring ass strike and crucible. Only thing I enjoyed way playing through the first mission a couple of times. I only played the beta for about two hours, my connection was absolutely horrible, but I expected that from the beta. HOWEVER: I'm still going to see you all in D2.
-
I enjoyed it overall. I liked PvE and PvP was better IMO
-
Not really. Pace was a tad bit slow for my taste. However, the PC beta may grow on me. We'll see.

2 AntwortenLiked the story and strike but warlock and titan movement felt sluggish with floaty jumps and the gun hit consistancy felt very odd, I 1 shot a cabal but the next guy took 3 but all headshots? The elemental primary didn't seem to be any different to kinetic (maybe if it had a visible effect like zhalo) 2 primaries were meh, I played a D1 strike right after and the difference was jarring. The beta felt like a cheap knock off. I know issues like ammo are supposedly addressed now hopefully grenades and supers too. But Bungie it seems doesn't want solo players so I'll pass, maybe when its on sale with the dlc. Didn't play pvp, have zero interest in it.

I enjoyed it. Story was amazing. Strike was good, boss fight really good. PvP was good better than year 1, 2 and 3, but not as fun as year one with pure mayhem.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Haunter: 7/28/2017 6:58:06 PMNot really Story was fine Strike was long and boring - no special was a horrible change, power ammo rarely dropped and didn't do much to the boss (looking at you nade launchers) I felt super slow without skating/hopping/better control jumping, abilities were ridiculously slow as well. Pvp wise ttk feels too long, shouldn't be longer then halo's is, that aside I matched a team of 4 every single game, they almost all camped on a point behind a titan shield with a rift and just hardscoped a hallway. I fail to see what was "competitive" about that. Especially considering nades took so long to charge on top of them being nerfed so you couldn't really flush them out. The gunplay felt worse then D1s, weapons felt very inconsistent and tbh I think every weapon in the beta needed counterbalance aside from hand cannons. Supers like sentinel and arcstrider could use health regen on kills as well, unless a super has range they should have extra damage resistance and health back.
-
Yes. It was fun. I didn't play much of it though to be honest but what I played I enjoyed. Looking forward to D2.

I did.... my expectations were at -50.
They are now at -47 👍
