I get ambushing the tower and knocking out satellites but...
How did the cabal even get to Earth with nothing noticing?

Likely it was because all the kiddos were playing PVP and all the NPCs were cheering lol other words the vanguard are not doing their job

2 AntwortenMost of the satellites that are in the system are controlled by Rasputin. He has his own motives and has proven time and again, that while he appreciates our assistance against physical attacks and has activated things like the Sleeper Simulant, he has stopped short of actually coordinating and communicating with us. The sat systems we do have are shorter range stuff and we focus them planet ward to look for attacks from around the city and track Guardians on missions. Especially now, the Dreadnaught poses little threat, while SIVA is still out there being used by the Splicers, that is the most important thing. We know that the Cabal got a signal out of the system, or tried to, but we don't know anything other than that, so the most important threat right now is the one in front of us, SIVA and Splicers. We didn't even see the Dreadnaught coming, that was the Awoken, specifically Mara Sov that saw Oryx and his fleet and went out to stop him. We didn't know it until the Cabal distress call and finding information on Phoebe about it. This is all evidence to what I pointed out earlier about our sat feeds. We also may just be piggy backing off them and not have full control, so no alerts when something goes wrong. All this combined with the fact that the Cabal are one of the most fearsome war machines in the Galaxy and we end up being blindsided by the Red Legion.

We have thousands of telescopes, (millions if you include amateur astronomers), satellites, projections, and some of the smartest people , peering into the heavens... Yet, most close earth asteroids are detected after they pass, not before... It's space... Finding shit ain't easy... Even for a post Golden Age super people... I would just let it go and shoot some stuff...

6 AntwortenThe cabal are actually pretty smart. They probably sent info back to the main cabal out of the system telling them that the awoken are crippled and we're in the middle of fighting off 2 huge threats (taken and siva) and took the oppertunity to ambush us while we're recovering. Awoken probably couldn't warn us. and the cabal probably disabled our "feelers" in space preventing us to see things coming. I mean think about it. the cabal have been warring with the vex on mars and not losing. they took a single ship to the dreadnaught and made amazing progress and got some good intel. They are a militrized race. Which means heavy planning and tactics. We as guardians are less of a military force and more of a defense. We can't be everywhere. and we are not as organized as they are.

5 AntwortenEasy. Because everything is in mourning, having a civil war, recovering from a massive loss of leadership or trying to stop a rampant nano-virus from leaving Earth. Not to mention that there are many different routes to Earth, as there is no straight line between the planets, and the Red Legion are masters of many kinds of planetary warfare. If anything DID detect them, they are most likely dead or unable to warn anyone.

Either the vanguard was lazy, blind or stupid. Lazy if they started to see they were losing communication with satellites throughout the solar system and didn't immediately scramble a recon team to check it out. Blind, if they weren't lazy then this is something that the cabal had been scouting and planning. In order to take out all of there satellite sensors at the same time, they would have had to discover them all without being detected. Then take them all out at the precise same time without being detected. Stupid, they saw the cabal snooping around but didn't bother to do anything about it. One other explanation would be they were betrayed by someone within the vanguard. A rogue Guardian who sabotage everything from the inside. This would be a more likely answer that covers most if not all the bases.

9 AntwortenWe have no clue what the full range of the Red Legion arsenal can have. For all we know they have major cloaking technology. I mean if the cinematic when they attack the tower the ships are in a storm cloud. They could of made everything they were just clouds ....

I would think that the fleet would have been spotted by some guardian but the fleet would have had C.A.P flying all over the place and smashed any threat out of the sky and if anyone had seen then they would have through that might have been heading for mars C.A.P is combat air patrol..
