1 AntwortenHe would sound less threatening if he just said Blooorrgghuughh.

2 AntwortenI'm hoping they will explain it in the story, like his mask thing is a device that scans the minds of nearby living things an translates his words into something they can understand. Given that they put no effort in explaining how Oryx could speak English (would have been easy, hive magic telepathy), and Luke Smith is behind both TTK and Destiny 2, I'm expecting these kinds of details will be totally ignored.

Yes. Problem.

10 AntwortenThe Cabal have been studying every species in our system for years and have already shown signs of translating our language in the grimoire, as well us is also having vast knowledge of their language. It's no surprise that some of the Cabal could have learned our language, or built a translator to speak to other species considering how advanced Cabal tech is Oryx knowing English makes sense because Crota's Hive were studying us for years as well and Hive (especially Oryx) are notorious for being quick learners and spreading what knowledge they have. All Oryx needs is one archive on our language and culture or one human to study and he can learn the language and much more. The Vex also know our language (they know everything about us except how the Light works, but that doesn't even have anything to do with humanity), although they are not built to speak, and some Fallen also learn our language through what few things they find left over from our Golden Age. Bungie has done this before, after all. In Halo, the Covenant studied humans for years before deciding we were worth killing and commencing their attacks, and some of them even perfected our language before attacking our first world. By Halo two everything spoke the human language because they actually found that it was easier to speak in than ancient sanghelli and it allowed easy communication between the species

You see, convenience.

2 AntwortenThis is just now hitting you? The language issue didn't hit you when you got woken from the dead in a Russian car on a Russian highway and flew to the last city, based in Russia.
Also I assume he speaks fluent French, German, and Spanish in games sold there.
2 AntwortenThe cabal as a group have been in Sol for quite a while now. I'm pretty sure they've learned our language and intercepted transmissions and shit for intel and whatnot- the same way the vanguard and factions have done for them. So, they've certainly got the resources and knowledge to speak human languages. And Gaul seems like the type of guy to learn a language en route just to talk down to his enemies in their native tongue.

His mask has a universal translator built in. ;)

3 AntwortenJust a beta........maybe they'll make him speak in a Scottish accent too
