Don't mistake the vocal minority on this forum. I guarantee you D2 PvP will post much, much better player retention numbers then D1 did.
D1 pvp was a mess. It was broken.
While d2 MP obviously has flaws it actual feels like a somewhat competent pvp shooter. As opposed to a broken mess that you'd play for 20 minutes before laughing and turning it off.
With that being said here's a few things I think could be tweaked for the better.
-Nades and melees should recharge a little bit faster. They're pretty weak now so there's no need to have them on such a long cool down timer.
-The big problem is nade recharge being too long. People can clump teamshot because you almost never have an AOE attack to prevent it.
-Kill times and movement speeds could be bumped up a tad.
-I don't like that kills and assists are merged. Especially since assists are given out so easily.
-Static weapon perks make duplicate weapon drops totally pointless. You may as well be getting nothing.
-The lack of subclass options is disappointing.
- What's the point of "competitive" and "quick play" if they use the exact same MM? Competitive should have tight skill and party size MM. Quick play should be pretty much only cbmm.

Yea all it cost was pve gameplay

17 AntwortenYeah, D2 PvP is better. But SMG's are to weak, shoulder charges strenght is exactly the same like a regular melee and the aim assistance doesn't work sometimes.
-
3 AntwortenAs this is apparently "an old build" the juries still out, but on the whole it's been fairly good. Whatever else, they do need to improve grenade recharge time AND the super. I'm an ok PvP player, but out of approx 10 matches, I actually got to use my super..at best...twice. Which = DULL.

Problem with Destiny is fix it prefect for one group and upset another group Its never a win win, someone else all ways complains.

First day all I played was D2 PVP then I've been switching back and forth between D1 and D2 PVP for comparison. I actually prefer D1 PVP, I think the movement is that little bit more refined and I like being able to use everything in my inventory. D2 I don't think the gun play is as sharp in 2 ways. The weapons feel a little bit sloppy and each shot doesn't seem to count as much as in D1. But I do like that the headshot multiplier seems to do more. To me D1 had some major flaws like getting shot through walls and getting respawned next to the opposition but the game play was so fun for me I could turn a blind eye to it. To me D2 isn't as fun and I've still been shot through walls (granted not as often) and 3 times I've been respawned in front of the enemy 2 of which they were already shooting in my direction. I'm going to keep playing the beta but at this point I'm seriously thinking about a refund.

Agreed :)

3 AntwortenI agree. Destiny 1 PvP was never balanced from the get go. There was always a something so outrageously powerful that it was a cheat to use. It started with auto rifles, then thorn, then pulse rifles combined with snipers and shotguns. Actually literally everything was thrown out of wack with each balancing updates it's hard to even remember the insane history that was D1 PvP.

Destiny 1 PvP cod style Destiny 2 halo style D2 wins all day
-
It is. Playing D1 PvP right now. This sucks
-
Personally love the 4v4 PvP. Reading a lot of these complaint posts has really made me wonder if I'm playing the same game.
-
Not even close, it feels like crap honesty
-
It is not. In the beta, the gun-play is worse (though I like the guns and weapon system) and movement much, much worse (slower). My guess: they have looked at lag (unfixable?) and complaints from the majority of players who are not great at PvP (biggest consumer demographic) and thought, 'yes we fix this by slowing the whole game down and reducing the differentials.' Why reduce the character movement in PvE? They are still doggedly clinging to their manifesto of cross-mode balance. A reduction in PvE numbers will kill the game stone-dead. A reduction in PvP? A few YouTube/Twitch streamers and the CoD rage-squeakers.

2 AntwortenAgreed. D2 PvP is much better than D1's PvP. The Crucible was only fun in year 1, and in both year 2/3, it was pretty terrible. I really don't understand all of the complaining. Maybe because I grew up on Halo and the gunplay feels similar to Halo, but with a space magic twist, that could be the reason why I love it so much Honestly, right now, I would not change anything. Only because we've only been playing it a few days and I think it's far too early to ask for changes. The only thing I've noticed wrong with PvP is that sometimes at the beginning of a game, I can't see anybody (teammates or opponents) nor do the capture points show on the map for me. It's only happened twice, but that is the only issue I've noticed.
-
All they did was make it much more gun centric. Which is only half of what destiny is about. If they wanted a more standard competitive pvp they could of simply made a playlist for it. Not gank the entire game.
-
8 AntwortenAll I want to know is did they fix the Laggy B.S. in Crucible? Even just a little? I swore I wasn't going to purchase D2 if they didn't do something/anything about it!
-
1 AntwortenI'm also not a huge fan of 4v4 control. I know they've already made their minds up, but I think the 6v6 just works better for that game mode. The 4v4 elimination has been a lot of fun though.
-
2 AntwortenSorry, going back to 2001 is not cutting it.
-
4 AntwortenThe PvP reminds me of when people play Mario Kart competitively and take all the items off. It makes the game more fair and interesting for competitive players but if I wanted to do that I would just play a real racing game.
-
LOL 90% is a minority?
-
It doesn't surprise me one bit that a Halo player would love D2 PvP. And I agree.
-
3 AntwortenI play destiny because I want to have space magic and a lot of it. And I never experienced the "totally broken" pvp in d1. I remember times when a gun was overly used and too powerful(thorn). But I never had issue with the amount of supers. It made it way more enjoyable. One super a match is stupid.
-
I have only played 3 matches of PvP so far in the Beta and I can tell you I am much more likely to play it this time around. Destiny 1's PvP was horrid. I will say this, I'm already in love with one of my weapons. The Black Scorpion-4SR scout rifle. Arc damage... Full auto... and that Impact and Stability. I was kicking ass with it. Then I added the warlock's healing pool for the overshield. Look out people! One hell of a combo.
-
2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Blackbolt21: 7/20/2017 8:08:15 PMI think that all these up votes you got are the vocal minority. I think the majority of the people who played the beta don't like the pvp in Destiny 2. Destiny 2 has the same bad net code that Destiny 1 had. When you add slower kill times on top of that it just makes for awful experience. I also don't like that there's no more kills and they have this new participation trophy system instead.
-
1 AntwortenI couldn't disagree with you more. Before the silly special ammo nerf, D1 was light years better than this sad state of affairs now. It's just NOT fun. It's extremely boring.
-
2 AntwortenKills and assists are merged?!? LMAO gotta give the scrubs their participation trophies!
