Anybody else getting sick of this excuse from Luke Smith?
You had 3 years to figure out what you wanted Destiny to be. You had many years before that when you announced at E3 that Destiny was supposed to be this rich, cinematic adventure where "we could go to that mountain over there" so we'd throw our money at our screens.
And still, he continues to use the same tired "we have ideas that we're excited about, but they may not be ready in time because of our deadlines" rhetoric.
Either Bungie devs are incompetent and can't manage to meet deadlines, or the deadlines are unreasonable and Bungie can't realistically get their work done in time. Either way, it's bad for customers, and I'm beginning to think it's the former. It's 2017, and a Destiny 2 release won't have custom games and other core features at launch. More is being removed from the game than added or expanded upon. Luke's response to "since there are no stat rolls to chase, how are people going to stay engaged and grind?" is "we have ideas, but right now we're focused on the launch deadline." I can't help but be skeptical and feel like this is going to be yet another incomplete game at launch.
What a joke.
The game has been in Beta since its production began in 2010. Only now are they finding a way to use the European Dead Zone and Cabal raid that were cut out of VANILLA. But they feel their deadline (which was already delayed by a year) is rushed and we won't get all of the features we should have (custom matches, for example) right away..

Bearbeitet von it's pronounced Hai su ta: 7/4/2017 12:27:57 AMThat's what Bungie experienced under Microsoft...and this is what most developing studios experience under wealthy publishers.. I'm amazed at the amount of naive people...especially the ones stating "if Activision is pushing, Bungie should push back." Not mentioning how the OP stated that 3 years is pathetic and it should be enough. We should just have our generic yearly CoD trash am I right? Only a beggar would understand the issue of another beggar.

Don't play.

3 AntwortenSo my question, have you made a video game and do you have any idea the work that goes into it?.....No I didn't think so
-
I already preordered :).
-
2 Antwortencut from vanilla lol
-
Stop playing and stop posting. Your ignorance is astounding.
-
3 AntwortenYou also do know that during 2013 They had to scrap it because the original writer left. The deadline was set by activision though for D1 idk about D2 and if activision is forcing them.

Bro, I feel you

"Incomplete" is quite a subjective term.

Bearbeitet von MindExergy: 7/4/2017 12:13:44 AMKeep in mind Activision is running the show. They told bungie to release another title and they are. Unfortunately it seems like another incomplete one. Still a good game I'll buy. I mean how many great games are there out there right now? Gta is 5 years old now (and still running strong). Most other games seem to lack depth or are only fun for a month or two. I think it's time for pc for me. Much better games and console simply can't compete.

1 AntwortenNah, I don't really concern myself with their deadlines. I am excited for D2, all the changes look amazing, and the have a better base now to build upon for the future. ^^^All my opinion

Still getting shot behind walls. Delay in gameplay....after all this time.

I can forgive most of the problems, but yesterday I just realized that at launch there will be NO way to battle your friends in pvp. Wtf are you thinking bungie!?
-
4 AntwortenI keep telling people, Bungie is skipping on features just to get the game out the door.
-
5 AntwortenCan't people just be happy that we are getting a new game and there's finally a reason to get back on the grind?

There is one major flaw with Bungie and it has to do with leadership. When you have a "leader", such as Luke Smith, who continuously makes excuses and is as arrogant/ignorant as he is, there's no question why the game has been in the unfinished state that it has been in. Not to mention the poor business decisions and lack of accountability that Bungie seems accept as normal operating procedures. Sure, Bungie definitely has many creative and dedicated programmers who are at the top of the industry with respect to what they do. However, when you have lackluster leadership who is able to act like Luke Smith and get away with it, the company will follow. Bottom line, failure is the responsibility of leadership, not the employees. Luke Smith knows everything. He knows what the community wants and what is best. He is one of the problems.

2 AntwortenI used to feel the same way. Then over time- and it took a long time- as news stories and leaks revealed the chaos that occurred after Bungie signed with Activision we learned why so many things about the game felt wrong. In the contract Bungie had to release a DLC every so many months. The engine they were using was good but slow. Too slow to make new storylines and content fast enough to make the deadlines. The only way to do it without violating contract was to trash the story, slice up the original content and sell it as DLC. That sucks. They're using a new engine and all content and future DLC will be made in anticipation of the contract demands. One major problem has already been solved. From what I've heard the story was written by the same writers who worked on The Taken King- most well written of all the DLC in Destiny 1. I choose to be hopeful instead of pessimistic.

Where did bungie confirm a 2016 launch? And where is the proof that vanilla had any of the "cut" content?

I love how they make changes hardly anyone asks for like a change to perks on guns when there is an list made by cozmo showing the most popular wants by us

10 AntwortenBrand new engine. Completely new in-game-models and textures. Revamped subclasses and weapons systems. Entirely new play spaces and social areas. You know what? Destiny 1 stuck around for me because it got the core mechanics of gunplay just right. I'd much rather have a rock solid foundation for them to build upon for three years than a half-assed mess with everything and the kitchen sink thrown in so they can check all those bullet points from the get-go. To each his own, mate.

14 AntwortenIt's so pathetic...we should just have BraveCole and Oddish make D2....they would do a MUCH better job than the whole Bungo team combined
-
2 AntwortenYou know Activison pushes them....

5 AntwortenLuke Smith used up all his good ideas in Destiny 1. Now that the same is expected of him again, he is failing. His lack of further ideas will be his downfall. Destiny needs to relieve him of such a significant D2 position, and have him in the background. And as usual, They need to straight up Fire Deej. The guy is an embarrassment. Not that Deej plays any role in development, he is just an awful excuse of a community manager. All he manages to do is make us cringe.

Destiny 2 will be a stripped down version of what we have now . Get ready for 5 to 10 hours of gameplay , only to have to wait months for another 5 hours of content . Pvp that's smaller than the ps2 game i played in 2002 . Please tell us something to get excited about , i just keeping hearing B.S. . I know they want people to buy destiny 2 , so we get the smoke and mirrors trick along with over hype instead of FACTS .

2 AntwortenDestiny as a whole throughout its supposed 10 year life cycle will most likely go down as the biggest "what if" in gaming history.
