Let's look at this critically. So much has been removed at the expense of PvE to "improve" PvP.
- No more grimoire, to allow for more memory space.
- No more unique rolls, to allow for more PvP balance.
- No more OP PvE supers, to allow for balance.
- A new weapon system, to prevent high-damage builds.
- No more large scale battles, to increase competition.
- No more fun.
And we still can't have:
- 60fps
- Dedicated Servers
- Custom Games
- Ranked
All of these things are vital to creating a fun and entertaining PvP experience. So Bungie has killed PvE to help PvP. THEN KILLED PvP!
Bungie you better pray that Anthem is shit, or else everyone will go play that.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von RPColten: 7/3/2017 2:29:44 AMLet's look at the supposed changes addressed in the topic: * Grimoire: This comment doesn't even make sense. *Static perks on gear: A change made specifically to allow a finer point of control over gear for weapon/armour balance passes. Not only has the 'grind' of Destiny been a hop topic since September 2014 (and not in a positive light), but it has made balancing weapons tremendously difficult because a single set of perks could make/break a weapon. Now the team has made a change that will make not only balancing easier, but reduce the grind to a point where the average player can spend more time doing what they want and not what the game says. How is that a bad thing valid for complaint? You like having luck decide whether you can be on the same footing as your friends? Where hours can be spent getting a weapon only to have something significantly worse than the same item another player got for 30 minutes of play? *No OP PvE super: Is this a subjective comment? Please provide information that has made you believe that the ultimate abilities will not be powerful in PvE, otherwise this just comes off as complaint for the sake of complaint. (Note: Supers received massive buffs post-launch for Destiny 1. Are you also saying the dev-team is now incapable of doing the same thing again?) *No 'high-damage' builds: Yes, you will not be able to equip a sniper-rifle and a rocket-launcher simultaneously. If this was related to Destiny 1 enemy encounters, this would be a problem. This is not about Destiny 1 however, it is about Destiny 2. We do not know the full extent in terms of how enemy encounters and bosses will play out. What if we don't have need for 'high-damage' builds? Bonus to this new weapon system: Team damage roles. Instead of everyone being a one-trick pony, now there can be designated roles during encounters with actual purpose. Among a three-man squad you can have a close-quarters brute with a shotgun to manage heavy units that charge, a rifle-wielding player for picking off distant targets, and a rocket-launcher user for taking care of crowds. I can already see the team-coordination in strikes. *No 6v6: 6v6 is not large-scale, and it is only gone for now. It is entirely possible that the team can add a 6v6 mode post-launch. I would be quite surprised if they didn't add it down the line due to player request. *Fun N/A: What is fun is entirely subjective. Subjective criticism is not applicable for complaining about something that isn't even on the market yet. * 60 FPS: Don't blame the studio for something that is not related to them. If you don't like the 30 FPS limitation, blame Sony/Microsoft for the current-gen consoles. ...and if 60 FPS is a very important factor, then you should consider building (cheapest) a high-end computer. Destiny 2 will run at 60+ FPS on PC. * Dedicated servers: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/45919/7_This-Week-At-Bungie--05252017 Scroll down to section labeled "Code Words" and read through the segment. * Custom games: No custom games at launch, i.e: Not available immediately but it will be something to consider later. When PR and Devs use terms like "not on launch", it means they're specifying that it won't be available at that moment. People don't say "not on September 6th" because it will never be a thing, but because it is not planned for release/availability on that date. * Ranked: There are plans for a ranking 'system' post-launch, but no plans for a ranked 'playlist'. While a committed studio would be better for audience appeal, it is not always the best action to take. Why make these promises if you are not 100% sure that they can be kept to the best of their ability? Perhaps they hope to save a ranked system for an event post-launch? The main post just comes off as low-hanging fruit, I am partially convinced it is just bait for people like me.

1 AntwortenThis is the funny part. They screw pve majorly to make pvp more competitive, but then they totally screw the pooch on the pvp implementation too lol. The incompetence of this company knows no bounds.
-
5 AntwortenI know my rank in Destiny PvP. It's bottom of the pile! Don't need a ranking to tell me that!
-
Bungie has been ruining pve because of pvp for a long time now, why would their new game be any different?
-
Ranked would be nice as those of us who just do PvP once in a while wouldn't deal with the Trial level trolls and they wouldn't have to piss and moan about us getting in the way. The only down side is that if you're actually better than you think you are you may end up in a rank you'd rather not be in.
-
I care about neither Ranked not Custom matches. 60fps would be great, but I can live without it. Dedicated servers would be spectacular.
-
I think the PC version will play 60fps. Try it out during the beta. You might like keyboard & mouse better too.
-
6 AntwortenIf you genuinely wanted to look at things critically you would not have already assumed they are focusing on PVP.
-
2 AntwortenLook I'm gonna need you to think about this game. Like think really hard. Then look at overwatch and why it didn't have competitive at launch
-
I hope it comes back to bite them in the ass honestly . I kinda like pvp, but it doesn't need to be that sweaty honestly. I have a friend who is like 50 years old and he plays pvp and always gets his ass kicked and you can tell it's not that fun for him but he does it for the loot and stuff
-
there is absolutely no way that bungie will go through d2 without implementing some kind of ranked playlist and/or private matches. there has been endless request for it that it is impossible for them to ignore, and they know that they will gain publicity and money if they add a ranked gamemode.

2 Antworten
Let's look at this critically. So much has been removed at the expense of PvE to "improve" PvP.
Let's how well thought out these reasons are, shall we?
- No more grimoire, to allow for more memory space.
1. We've been asking to have the story and lore in the game, and now that they're doing it we're complaining? 2. Won't take long before all that "Story on a 3rd party site that we all hated" will be available on a 3rd party site. 3. To free up memory? What? Physical memory is no longer an issue. And if you mean RAM, it has nothing to do with putting more story in a game.
- No more unique rolls, to allow for more PvP balance.
And? This just means you grind for a specific item, rather than a roll. As for balance, now they'll be able to "balance" a specific item instead of the entire class or archetype.
- No more OP PvE supers, to allow for balance.
All supers will still have their place in PvP. How else will noobs like me and others get kills?
- A new weapon system, to prevent high-damage builds.
How so? For PvE or PvP? People will still find optimal gear regardless. Just because you can't think of a "high damage build" atm doesn't mean there won't be.
- No more large scale battles, to increase competition.
6v6 was large scale?
- No more fun.
Maybe try it first? You could be surprised. Didn't think I'd like my wife's chicken sped in even though it has ingredients I don't like.
And we still can't have: - 60fps
When I see games like Horizon Zero Dawn run at 4k/30 (which was designed from the ground up to run exclusively on the Pro), it really lends credence to Bungie's claims of hardware limitations.
- Dedicated Servers
The new PvP setup is essentially dedicated servers - a host (Bungie's server) to which players connect to and authoritative control and we maintain our own freedom of movement. Quite similar to what games like Overwatch and Battlefield use.
- Custom Games - Ranked
No Private/Custom matches at launch. Agreed on Ranked. But they have stated they plan to implement a way for us to laud our PvP prowess down the road. No timetable given. I get it. Everyone has concerns. But many of the issues I see people complaining about are either ill-informed, only read half the article, or just repeating the misinformation they heard somewhere. If you want to complain, by all means it's your right, but at least be as informed as possible. You can't make an informed opinion if you don't have all the available, current information.

I'm confused too my guy.
-
1 AntwortenThe whole point of no grimore was because Bungie is trying to make an obviously more detailed story where they describe everything throughout the game instead of looking it up within another source outside of the game.
-
4 AntwortenWhat does ranked PvP mean? Does it mean that we have the ability to see our stats, like we can now, on the app, or at Destiny Tracker? Or is it a different type of playlist, or mode?
-
1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Smough: 7/2/2017 1:57:59 PM*sigh* Never understood the point of a ranked system in a video game... Unless you want to believe that a gold badge next to your username makes you special.

8 AntwortenI'm pretty concerned about PVP in D2 myself. Next to everything else they've changed, the one super per game rule bothers me. People will just use supers to cancel other supers out. That won't be very fun in my opinion. Hopefully things change a bit after a while though.
-
So you can sweat every damn match and get no reward!
Yea D2 PvP looks shit
-
We saw a poorly scripted play through of anthem and for some reason everyone everyone is starting to get on board with it lol
-
Ranked play doesn't belong in Destiny. It's not competitive enough. Trials wasn't nearly as competitive as actual ranked lists would be and even so it ripped apart destiny 1 by forcing constant nerfs. Destiny cannot hold up under the pressure of competitive play.

5 AntwortenAren't custom games and ranked coming, just not at release?
-
5 AntwortenPfft, we don't need ranked with as tight the sbmm is currently...clash is the hardest mode now

D2 might be a massive letdown, no fun at all, or broken. We won't know until playing it. What we know, expect, and use to judge those things are from a destiny 1 mindset. How d2's programming, connections and in game mechanics function can't be judged from a d1 point of view. For example, ammo synths don't have a dedicated in game hot key. People are salty about that, even though nobody knows if ammo synths exist in d2. Sniper, shotgun, machine gun and every other power weapons misbehave less
