I think it will. They have been dropping hints about it being in development.
Edit: I knew it.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force Deluxe

5 AntwortenI'd love to hear it, but 3 was supposed to be the end of the trilogy. I'd hate to see them mangle the story trying to resurrect the series and, as I replayed them all just a month ago, I can say they're pretty dated nowadays. I'd far rather see a new FPS metroid series, like a spiritual successor to Prime, over a continuation of a story that was closed 10 years ago.

3 AntwortenI think we're going to get a 2.5D Metroid from Retro.

1 AntwortenMy friend showed a supposed "leaked" list of the games Nintendo will bring to e3, and it seemed almost to good to be true. I haven't been able to find it anywhere online, so I'm assuming it's a fake. But if it turns out to be real, it's going to be crazy. The games on the list were: This is the way they are ordered on the list. It's a bit out of order. Not sure if his is allegedly the order they will be shown in, or what. (Switch) Super Mario Odyssey Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Splatoon 2 Shin Megami Tensei V Pikmin 4 Fire Emblem: Broken Alliance Kirby(working title) Mario Party 11 Luigi's Mansion 3: Sarasaland Spirits Super Mario Maker Deluxe Super Smash Bros for Switch (3DS) Kirby: Defenders of Dreamland (3DS/Switch) Dragon Quest XI Fire Emblem Warriors Metroid 2D(working title) Monster Hunter Generations 2 (Switch) No More Heroes 3 (Multi) Sonic Forces Sonic Mania Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite Call of Duty: WWII Overwatch Tekken 7 (Switch) Metroid Prime 4: Scars Donkey Kong Country: Skull Jungle(Playtonic listed as developer)

3 AntwortenI got an email from Nintendo asking what franchises I liked and one of the only ones I didn't mark was Metroid because I never played one (as I'm sure most who got that email never had either)
-
2 AntwortenPerhaps, perhaps not. Always hard to tell what direction Nintendo will take, witch is why I always approach rumors like this very cautiously. Nintendo didn't have any problem with slapping "Prime" onto Federation Force or Hunters purely for brand recognition's sake, and nothing else.

Bearbeitet von OnlyAlfredo: 6/8/2017 3:35:32 AMI want to say yes but I doubt it. Here's what we know: •Tanabe wants nothing more than to continue making Metroid games •Retro is making a game •Alexander Brandon, Deus Ex composer(and Metroid superfan), was recently hired by Retro and stated he's super excited about it •Tanabe stated if there was going to be another Prime game, it would be for the NX(now Switch). It's definitely a possibility. But I don't want to get my hopes up, it's been a decade now.

10 AntwortenProbably not a Metroid Prime. But hopefully a full fledged legitimate new entry in the Metroid franchise
-
Nintendo's weakness is the perception that they don't have games to look forward to. Super Mario Odyssey and Wii U ports will carry them into 2018, but they need to be able to show more than that. This is an issue that continues to plague Nintendo and leaves them crippled when the craze over their hardware drops. No doubt they have many Nintendo staples in development for the Switch. We are long due for a game from Retro. I wouldn't be shocked to see a Metroid from them.
-
I'm hoping it will still be made by Retro.
-
If they're smart they'll save Smash Brothers and Metroid till 2019. Since those games will be able to resurrect the system pretty much. So when the consoles won't be coming off shelves as they are now is when they get released.
-
Doubt it.
-
1 AntwortenIf they do, I'm sprinting to the nearest store to buy a Switch lol.
-
13 AntwortenI'm guessing we'll get a tease but that might be wishful thinking.
-
Probably not
-
2 AntwortenIf they do, I just hope it's good and doesn't end up like Other M.
-
1 AntwortenI hope so. I really, REALLY hope so.

I still remember prime 3. The abandoned ship and final bosses were pretty...
dark.

i'll be in the corner now...
1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Smarkdow: 6/6/2017 5:03:31 PMI'm not so sure. Seems like Nintendo themselves isn't too high on the Metroid series like they are with Zelda and Mario, and after the Other M debacle, I wouldn't be surprised if they put the series on hiatus.

If I had to guess I'd say yes, or at the Tokyo gameshow ir maybe even at Gamescom. But yes I am confident that Nintendo will announce a Metroid for the Switch before this year is done.
