During the reveal today bungie stated all pvp modes were going to be 4vs4, while as a diehard halo fan I love 4v4 I don't want it in every playlist.
6vs6 means I can run with more friends and just goof around. Rumble means I can improve my gunskill in the 1vs1 battle that happen. Doubles is usually intense, close matches. 3vs3 shouldn't be forgotten either.
Why would all modes be 4s? Have them at a majority but include a 6vs6, 3vs3, rumble, doubles and maybe even 5vs5.
Or how about multi team? 3 teams of 4, or 4 teams of 3?
I really don't understand why they'd scrap something that worked for D1.
I thought with no old gen we'd even get a 8vs8, certainly not only smaller teams then D1 had.

This was, I think, the only thing that disappointed me in the launch presentation. Coming from a Killzone background I was disappointed with this iteration of Destiny and 6v6. I'd have liked 12 v12 or more. I wonder if the decision is based on matchmaking issues or a desire not to upset the special snowflakes (god forbid a poor player shouldn't finish in the position they deserve)

If trials is still a thing in d2 is that also 4's?

1 AntwortenHorrible decision by bungie, I was honestly hoping for larger lobbies.

1 AntwortenI find it rather surprising that the company that created Halo's Big Team Battle mode and Halo Reach's Invasion mode would give such a step backwards. I really hope this 4v4 stuff is just a preliminary thing, something to test the waters with. Nothing beats the mayhem that 12v12 matches can offer in other games; to me, 4v4 matches are just about the most boring thing you can get, and people playing solo will get demolished by fireteams 9/10 times.

It's been stated but the more attention, the better chance for it to be changed. 4v4 announcement ruined the reveal for me, at least for all the PvP news. 6v6 was great in D1! I miss the Big Team battles from Halo Reach, where it was at least 8v8 matches. Trials and skirmish 3v3 were sweaty but made sense. 4v4 is gonna be almost as sweaty, 100% of the time. I care more about PvE at this point but content will run dry and it's make or break for me with PvP conditions. Please Bungie, don't ruin this for me and others... Please...

6 v 6 is my favorite game type. I like playing with several friends, and the larger teams make for more exciting and fun games.

Rip reaper and slayer medals...

Trials is 4v4 now too!

3 AntwortenI really dug the 4v4 gameplay I saw but have 2 major complaints. 1: No more 6v6 control... literally some of the most fun I've ever had in pvp multiplayer in any game 2: I loved finishing a raid and taking all 6 into multiplayer... now we gotta cut 2 lose... kinda lame.

17 Antwortenshrinking the teams is counterintuitive to the social experience. I'm not against adding 4v4 but can't understand why 6v6 has to go. Some of my favorite Pvp games were just messing around in groups with my clan. Not everyone plays destiny Pvp with strategic intensity like others. This was a misfire. Still excited for destiny 2 though.

4 AntwortenMore then likely there still will be private matches but this seems like bubgie is going to their roots and making a bit more like halo
-
2 AntwortenEven with this reduction in team size, some goober is still gonna block your path into a door way and get you all wiped by a single Nova Bomb.

At least in 6v6, my bad PvP skills were slightly minimized due to others on the team being far better than me, which is why I mostly stuck with 6v6 modes. Well, I guess those good guys are going to have to step up there game because with less ppl, my bad skills will sink the team even more. Good luck carrying me.

Just shows you how out of touch they are to make it some big announcement. TBH 4v4 ranked is a good idea, just like the Halo days. But social works better with 5.

29 AntwortenNo the worst thing to take from this is that it's -blam!-ing 2017 and we still are using peer to peer in AAA titles and player caps are lower then 10. You would think that with all money and tech they have they would at least get a cap of 20 as the battlefield series has 64 players per match..... and older battlefield games have more then that! So idk I can understand why destiny wouldn't have a massive cap like battlefield because they are different games but only 8 is god damn ridiculous

4 AntwortenI laughed out loud when he announced all Crucible would be 4v4. And he paused expecting big applause. But only half, maybe only a third cheered. The confusion on his face as he had to stand there and still smile was hilarious. What did he expect? I, for one, like the casual chaos of larger teams. I can put my headphones on, crack a beer and listen to music--have fun. 30v30 in Resistance 2 was crazy. And you could still find full matches up to R3. And they also had real custom matches (which, I note was not announced for D2)--everything from maps, game-style, team size, time, points, weapons allowed, etc.

2 AntwortenThe crap engine they refuse to replace can't handle the lag, so they are reducing the number players and supers active on most games. Trials will be more laggy with 2 additional players, which is hilarious - should never have been brought forward. They've had 4 years to build us a game engine that supports 60FPS (or at least a very stable 30 FPS) and runs on dedicated servers. If Bethesda's Skyrim can push the graphical limits of the Xbox 360 and hold up remarkably well on XB1 after 6 years, then Bungie can do it, too. The problem is Activision - it always has been and as long as they cling to Bungie like the tumor they are - being cheap with p2p, Destiny's franchise will suffer as a result.
-
Trials carry teams going to dominate and become a bigger problem for some.
-
I loved 4v4 in halo so i have no problems with it, but i 100% think bungie will still have weekly playlists like 3v3 trials, 2v2, mayhem
-
15 Antwortenid usually be in agreement with this sorta thing but after the chaos and ability spam in destiny 1 i do not want 6v6 back im sorry but d1 ruined it for me and coming from a halo background it really isnt that bad as people are making it out to be
-
Well, they won´t reconsider it. Why? Because it´s their cheap way to lower lag and matchmaking times so that they don´t get the same hate D1 got in terms of the PvP experience. It´s a joke.
-
18 AntwortenThe only reason they did that is because of their stupid P2P servers. They don't want people to lag, so they're reducing party size as a facade of giving players "what they want". Give me a break, no one asked for 4v4. 6v6 is way more fun than 4v4. 4v4 gets -blam!-ing sweaty and all the tryhards come out. If they implement a 4v4, they need to have a seperate playlist for 6v6 and 8v8 BTB. -blam!- outta here.
-
1 Antworten4 vs 4 good for me :P

Rip sniping...

1 AntwortenThe PVP is what broke the game in the first place. All the streamers and pay for carries cried for buffs and nerfs till the game sucked in PVE. I hope this will make the above said group go away and the rest of us can just play.
