back in year 1, I had a kid (11-ish year old) in the tower ask me if I could help him with a raid. he said he had never done one before and nobody would help him out, so he didn't know what to do. I said "lets start with crota's end" so I took us to orbit and fired up hard mode crota (this was back in house of wolves) "aren't we going to get more people?" he said. nope. fortunately, he was on a titan, so getting him up on the the bridge tower was a pinch. after that, I just said "stay with me" after we got to deathsinger. I wanted to help him understand how the raid worked before i just did it for him and walked off. then for crota I said "do you have any rockets?" The kid pulled out a vanguard launcher with vacuum. can't remember the other perk lol. so I told him to just shoot crota with his scout rifle. killed him in two swords with barely enough ghorn ammo (Thank you nighthawk) boom- he got black hammer "flawless raider? what's that?" he says, catching me by surprise. somehow we managed not to die the very first run through. I didn't even think about getting his flawless for him (I used to 2 man crota flawlessly with a lot of friends as long as they had a little experience) but It took me off guard nonetheless. now the dude is a 13 year old raid lord that has no problems finding groups, and even offers to help people from time to time.

Then you had to come here to tell everyone what such a good person you are. Imo youre trying to feed your ego 😚

I am the same way: never done a raid cause no one will do it with me, they say I am terrible at raids. Even though I know how to do the raids. I have done all the bosses in the raids( except for vault of glass) but I have never finished them due to time or other things. One of these days, before D2. I plan on doing all the raids.

But after the 2nd time the guy on plate one died, my team leader said, "No offense- but I'm switching with you. You can run." The guy couldn't run, so my buddy said he would run. Now we had the problem of someone suddenly yelling out, "Light-eater knight! Light-eater knight!" It turned out the 17-year old and 22-year old were incapable of sniping their knights. Through all of this, the 12-year old was doing fine. Granted, all he had to do was hang out with me at mid- and he wasn't even helping on ogres. He asked what to do, and he was told to shoot at ogres- basically just do everything Fearsome was doing. He complained that he couldn't help because' Fearsome is two-shotting the ogres'. He was pretty talkative but polite- just asking a lot of questions. At one point he said that he was learning so much about King's Fall. Toward the end he was even popping his bubble just after I did. When he had first joined, he told us that he had never finished a raid. Said his friends wouldn't help him because they said he was bad- a kid's plaintive rant. So he told us that he didn't know what to do. I didn't like the fact that after he asked for instructions, two people said, "Just shoot at stuff", and started up the encounter. My old team leader (hadn't yet joined at that point) would have taken him through step by step- if he was on a plate (he wasn't), he would have been shown where each knight spawned. I guess they figured he was just going to get carried through mid and didn't need any instructions. But to his credit, the kid didn't do anything stupid, followed instructions he was given, never caused a wipe. He didn't try to talk over anyone, didn't start up random discussions about other things. When my team leader joined, he was answering the kid's questions during breaks in the action, which I appreciated. So though the series of wipes, my old team leader was seeing why we were failing. After taking plate one, he started flying around and killing the spare knights. When we'd finished, he told me he was killing three knights per round. I was just doing the old titan-in-mid routine with my sleeper, over and over until people stopped dying or missing knights- my main issue was heavy ammo synth regen since we were wiping so much. But we got it done, and the kid was very thankful, said he was friending each of us. Later I saw that he had shared his beating the King's Fall raid achievement, with a header of "Beat a raid for the first time!" with a succession of emoticons. Even the other two randoms were thankful, saying it was nice that it was such a chill group (I'm guessing they'd had their share of being kicked in the past). Thought this was going to be an "aren't I nice for helping a kid" etc but great story man. Did deathsinger challenge with some young kids (friends of a clan member's son) they were great. Was just fun and they were nice kids. Plenty of young uns get a bad rap. In reality, there are just as many annoying "adults" for every annoying "squeaker". Edit: Evidence below.

If your guy on plate 1 dies then the relic runner isnt grabbing the relic fast enough the guy who runs with me always gets the relic before the hive ship fires a shot

Good job. I've helped probably 600 people through raids. (Probably 3-4 per group). The longest I ever spent on a raid was 15 hours and that was KF. But good on you and keep helping people. #Tamponmasterrace
