Is the writing good?
Because last I remember the lead writer left to write for Destiny 2. (not sure if it was before or after he was done with Andromeda)

For the most part, Yes. There are great bits and there are bits that will make you groan. The good definitely out ways the bad, especially as you get further through ME:A ( the first few hours are definitely the weakest moments ). The main plot is okay and the main villain is awful. The best moments are those moments where you are interacting with your squadmates on the Tempest. Also, if you pick the right 2 squad mates, you can get a lot of interesting banter during missions and when driving around on the Nomad. One area where I think Mass Effect: Andromeda is better than its predecessors is "morally grey" quests. The previous 3 games were very binary, Paragon/Good vs Renegade/Bad, Yes or No. A lot of the choices in ME:A are less obvious. There are quite a few side quests where I really had to think real hard about about what outcome I wanted whereas in ME1 - ME3 I always took the Paragon option.

You run into those type of "grey area" quests really early on. "First Murderer" was one I had to stop and think about for a few minutes. I ultimately decided to let him go.

It's overall good. A few cheesy moments and some characters are just badly written overall, but not a huge issue.

Really? Yeah dude, that's one of the things I most like about it. If that's true that's very good for Destiny fans.
