"Stop nerfing things. Buff them instead"
I see this everywhere in the destiny community. What these people fail to realise is that plenty of people including bungie themselves don't want COD type kill times in Destiny.
You can't give everyone snipers and shotguns that kill in one hit all game and just buff primaries to counter this unless you want incredibly potent, COD like ttks.
We're super powered space wizards with shields. It wouldn't make sense for us to be dying from primary fire in 0.3 seconds.
This game used to have very fast primary ttks and I didn't like it at all. It made the game feel generic and it created the same issue COD has in that the guns are too easy to use to warrant kill times that fast. It waters down the gunplay into glorified hide and seek.

Yes, buff
-
YES!!! BUFF EVERYTHING TO OHK!!!
-
I agree, but there were too many nerfs

You're the reason the cabal destroyed the tower

1 AntwortenI like fast ttk cause the fights are quick, the way crucible has been for a while with slow ttk people hear a bullet and run and hide. Seriously all people do is run and hide I guess that's fun if running away like a little bitch is your thing.

There's a big difference between a CoD TtK, and what a lot of people mean when they ask for buffs. CoD TtK's sit at around 0.1-0.2 seconds when shooting someone anywhere on their body, and from most ranges. If primaries in Destiny had an optimal TtK of around 0.5-06 that would be more than enough to counter the OHK special weapons, and still keep things well away from a twitch shooter's kill times. Also, by optimal for Destiny I mean in the weapon's intended range, no missed shots, and all shots land as head shots. That even further pushes away from twitch shooters. There's more to balance than just giving everything massive damage buffs, and that wouldn't be necessary at all for primary weapons to feel desirable, and for them to be able to effectively counter special weapons.

True I hate fast ttk games. Actually I hate all PvP...

3 AntwortenI want consistency. Shooting 2 different people that are standing in the SAME spot only a few seconds apart... one dies while the other doesn't even lose their shield. Weapons work great one match... can't buy a kill for 5k silver dust the next match. Inconsistencies due to lag/latency, connection, blah blah blah... fact is its broken. If latency determines wins/losses, guns do not matter. Everyone should get Walmart Internet to level the playing field.

I think this was true during the thorn and last word meta. Maybe even true for the hawksaw PDX meta. However, after we started nerfing the MIDA multi tool I think we went too far and we're in desperate need of some buffs. Pretty simple, auto rifles kill quickest in close to medium range but due to range and stability are outgunned by pulse and scout rifles at long range. Pulse rifles are the dominant medium range weapon which loses some consistency at far distances but holds its own against auto rifles in medium range. Scout rifles kill the slowest but have the most consistent time to kill across all ranges.

8 AntwortenBearbeitet von Samantha: 5/4/2017 7:29:11 AMYou realize that there's a gigantic gap between 0.3 and 0.9 that we have to work with when we buff? But no, let's push primary kill times further past a full second and force people to use them because we don't know why primary usage sucks.
-
2 AntwortenThere is more then one way to buff a weapon then just a damage buff.

1 Antworten
We're super powered space wizards with shields.
It should make sense that we could find a way to destroy our enemies in less than .3 seconds

4 AntwortenHow's about you/we all stop being backseat developers? How many people in this community have ever created or even know how to create a game? Bungie on the other hand has a track record that is almost unsurpassed, by the majority of games developers out there. Instead of thinking whatever new idea you've had to change the crucible that day, just happens to be the perfect solution, maybe try letting bungie crack on with it. Their knowledge and skill in this area far surpasses the combined knowledge and skill shown by these forums. In Bungie We Trust.

Wrong. Clearly bungie doesn't want use to use guns so post invalid
buff armor?
Actually, I enjoy the slower time of kills. If it was super fast to kill someone, crucible wouldn't be based on skill, but rather on how good u camp with a one-shot kill shotgun. Slower kill rates also makes the game more fun, since ANYTHING can literally happen when u encounter an enemy, adding more 'flavor'. BTW, I HATE CAMPERS D:<
-
The problem has been like nerfing the apex predators. Kill the king of the jungle, then something else replaces it. Nerf that and watch the new king step to #1. You keep going and going until you end up with paper swords and rubber bullets which then become OP because there's nothing else. Ultimately it's impossible to balance Destiny 1 but they'll probably have to deploy a watered down version of the PVP in D2 if they want it to stop bursting open at the seams every few weeks.

5 AntwortenWrong so wrong. So wrong on so many levels. When did you start playing Destiny? You have zero clue what you're saying. If all guns and abilities were rolled back to where the were in September 2014 this game WOULD be more FUN to play. FACT.

When we nerf'd MIDA I think we were well out of that fast time to kill zone. Buffs are the way to go from here. Not more nerfs.

Even the prepatch mythoclast wasnt close to having cod ttk...
-
5 AntwortenLol you're wrong on so many levels. At the moment, primaries cannot keep up with with player movement and abilities and specials. No one is suggesting .3s ttks. But, primaries that can kill someone before they skate across the map and sidearm you is a no-brainer.
-
21 AntwortenI'd rather we have the in-between we used to have instead of this Halo 4min TTK bullshit...
-
14 Antwortenfaster than halso slower than CoD is optimal.

5 AntwortenI summon Kelly Green. Lol seriously when he finds this post he is gonna go off on you. My own take though is this. Even in year one when the game had strong primaries and special weapons all around, the game felt nothing like COD- it felt like Destiny. Cod weapon ttks hover around 0.1 seconds. In year one primaries at their fastest killed in .5-.6 seconds. Those values arent even close. That's why this argument about the game being like COD is pointless, it wasnt in Year 1- and if they buff them again it won't feel like Cod now either. Aside from that this game was structurally designed to have faster killing primaries. This isnt halo, guns that kill that slow cant keep up with the abilities and movements available in Destiny. I could go on but you'll hear a better version of this later from Kelly Green.
