Thoughts? Are the economists hysterical? Is the Treasury overly optimistic over the potential for triggering growth? Will it, for better or worse, sit somewhere in the middle?

Bearbeitet von QMA-V1C1OU5: 4/29/2017 9:47:46 PMYup so all that money can just trickle down to us normal people...theyre not even trying to be slick with it they're just like rich people are getting a huge tax cut, I mean come on less tax brackets!?! You need waaayyyyy more! A person that makes 250000 pays the same as a billionaire? It's laughable
-
10 AntwortenTechnically this is a good thing. But you're putting your faith into the good nature of cooperations. "Hey, we'll tax you less but you'll have to create more jobs and raise wages." I'm sorry but if they played dirty to get rich, what makes you think they'll play fair to better more people? Hell, even charities have been more profit than help. Trump is on the right track on job creation but anyone can tell you this benefits him more than the American people.

18 Antworten"I want to reduce the deficit, so I'll lower our tax revenue" what.
-
24 AntwortenIn other news, an executive order will be announced that makes it mandatory for all CEO's to earn 500x more than the average employee. 373x was too low.

1 AntwortenThe right: Communism doesn't work stop trying it Also the right: Lets keep trying trickle down economics
-
4 AntwortenI wonder how much of that new money these corps are pocketing will be re-invested in its employees and expanding the company? Probably none. It'll just go to the pockets of execs. The American way.
-
It would be great if corporations actually used that to help workers but they won't.

25 AntwortenCorporations in recent years have been earning record profits. This tax cut is about greed.
-
1 AntwortenITT: conveniently ignoring that all of the cuts over the last 30 years hasn't resulted in any meaningful job growth

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Commander Tempu: 4/27/2017 10:04:35 PMMany of them make huge profits and cutting those taxes means less money to clean up some of the messes they make. I say leave it like it is as that revenue can be used for many projects. Also i do not know how Trump will build a wall if he shoots himself in the foot by cutting off revenue he would be getting from the taxes as is. He is a moron if he expects to pay for things with this kind of thinking. I mean 15% is not that much but the big picture says that those company's will profit and none of them are obligated to care about interests in or out of the U.S. Thus that is a 20% decrease in tax money for government programs that did not have to face cuts. Regardless if the company will hire people or not. That is all just heresy. This just means that Trump will shoot himself in the foot twice when the company's profit and he is low on funds for building his wall or other projects. I doubt Trump actually thought this through and like all good morons it does not help any one but those who are super rich get paid. Yep just what you expect from a person who has no idea what he is doing in office.

1 AntwortenGood old Laissez faire economic policy

11 AntwortenThe rich get tax cuts, which in turns grants the business owners to increase employee wages. From there more people are able to pay taxes. Now government receives more taxpayer money because the rich no longer have to use tax evasion to achieve the lifestyle of their class. How is this a bad thing?
-
2 AntwortenThey are way too drastic without accompanied budget cuts which I have yet to see a plan for. While such a tax cut will temporarily spur economic growth reaching a good 3% maybe 4% this isn't fast enough to keep up with the growing debt. As the debt rises in comparison the the GDP investors will begin to lose faith in the US economy which in turn will slow growth and call on citizens to pay back the national debt. Dismantling the gov starts with reduction in spending and programs followed by tax cuts. Cap discretionary spending, reform social security, Medicare, and Medicaid to be handled by the private sector and as you cut spending give it back to the people via tax cuts. Simple tax cuts are foolish as they will just be risen in the future to compensate

I thought the title said 1% and I was like "What the hell?"
-
3 AntwortenHe said this throughout his entire campaign. How is this even news? I'll believe it when I see it. He's going to flop on tax reform like he did on Health Care. Also his tax plan isn't radical enough. It's time to abolish the 16th Amendment and cut the government off. If I can't spend money when I've hit my credit limit why should the government be able to.
-
5 AntwortenThis is a great start. Hopefully he'll cut regulations and laws against companies so that we may eventually be as great as we once was

5 Antworten"Trickle-down economics don't work!" I'm no fan of supply-side because I'm no fan of taxation. What happens without taxation, economic illiterates? Will the world stop turning? Mass starvation? I'm curious. I'm also curious as to what motivation you're going to ascribe to me? Greed? I'm no wealthy man. I live paycheck to paycheck.

If this passes I wonder if US companies like Halliburton and GE will support their country and start paying taxes?
-
1 AntwortenI'll just continue to dodge as many taxes as possible by keeping my activity off the state radar. I encourage everybody to do the same. Keep in mind that the excerpt below (given to us by kind Mr. Konkin) was written decades ago, before cryptocurrencies. Imagine how easy it is to avoid the hidden tax of inflation now that we can ignore the Federal Reserve.
According to the American Internal Revenue Service, at least twenty million people belong in the "underground economy" of tax evaders using cash to avoid detections of transactions or barter exchange. Millions keep money in gold or in foreign accounts to avoid the hidden taxation of inflation. Millions of "illegal aliens" are employed, according to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Millions more deal or consume marijuana and other proscribed drugs, including laetrile and forbidden medical material.
1 AntwortenNothing new. Saw it coming in the first place.
-
2 AntwortenI think we should cut government. That would lower my taxes.
-
25 AntwortenLet me explain what would work and cutting taxes isn't the only thing that needs to happen. You also need to cut regulations and cut taxes all around. Another thing is take off all price controls especially on oil. Cutting regulations and taxes encourages investment and growth and saves consumers money from lower costs
-
Great if you own factory. Bad if you work in one. That 20 percent is gonna have to come from somewhere .
-
2 AntwortenBasically, cut all taxes for everyone to zero, and let the capitalist behemoth loose from all regulations.
everyone will make tons of money compared to now, yes.

expanding on the regulation cutting aspect— does nobody know what a monopoly is?
6 AntwortenWell seeing as economists are wary of the plan, I would be too. This is that "voodoo economics" shit that's been pretty debunked. Plus trump isn't cutting the government's spending with this so our debt has a high chance to increase. Finally, id like to see his tax returns to see how much this will affect him, his advisors (Mnuchin, Cohn, etc), and his family.
