I'm tired of getting crushed up in the crucible and I'm asking for a few tips from people who are better at this game than I am.
Edit: Wow we're actually trending, I only expected a few replies and the occasional "git gud" but all the replies and advice is amazing. I really appreciate it!
Edit 2: Y'all are awesome! I'm getting so many comments on how to improve they're getting hard to track. Really appreciate all the advice everyone.

More important than gun skill, weapon choice or map knowledge - Critical hits in the crucible should produce yellow numbers and body hits should produce white numbers. If you're not seeing these numbers, your hits aren't being registered. Back off and run behind your team mates till things change. Either your connection, the P2P network or Bungie's "Damage Referee" is working against you.

At one point I was BAD and now I'm always 1+. I have a few things that work for me that I wasn't doing before. 1) always keep an eye on your radar and get real good at reading it 2) play passive aggressive, just running around looking for a kill will get you farmed 3) learn sniper sight lines to use or avoid 4) if you're hurt do not engage, it's ok to back away 5) don't use guns that everyone else uses, use what works best for YOU 6) learn where the spawns are on the maps 7) take advantage of abilities. Try to damage them with a grenade before you push them 8) relax, getting anxious or frustrated only makes you play worse 9) never crutch a certain weapon, you become better when you can vary your loadout 10) have fun

Shoot people in the spine either in crucible or pve cause it's kinda fun (but horrible) to imagine they'll be paralyzed from the chest down

Practice gunplay map awareness an never sit still

4 AntwortenI switched my jump button to r3 click, and I rock an Icarus hand cannon. Amazing how many more fun fights I win.

I have no advice for you man. Your skill level is not much different to mine. Having said that sometimes I rule and get 2+ kdr and it's great. Then I get matches where I get wrecked but what keeps me coming back is it's fun. There is no shooter out there with game mechanics that can touch this game. Put that together with the quality of the raids and it's gaming heroin. If your not having fun then it's time to move on. Personally I think that with Destiny 2 just around the corner it's a great to be playing.

1 Antworten*insert obligatory "git gud" followed by my own kd getting ridiculed* Aaand action!

1 AntwortenFind another game . Don't get hooked on this shitty addiction. Seriously crack is way more fun

2 AntwortenShoot a real gun once.

Bearbeitet von Oppress0r: 4/24/2017 2:26:33 PMJust play the game and you'll naturally improve through map awareness and different situations. Also keep changing load outs to see what works for you on each map.

Look in you tube a True Vanguard video of how to stay alive in the crucible... is very good!

Bearbeitet von DoomAmplified: 4/24/2017 5:47:50 PMDon't be afraid to dash off, cover or leg it. Listen for key sounds like supers activating and decide whether to engage or just make yourself unavailable to be trampled by them. Going to get the heavy ammo can often be a cruel super trap. Stay frosty, guardian.

1 AntwortenFocus on staying alive. Don't challenge when you're weak. Use meta weapons.

1 Antwortena lot of others have left you some good advice. My two cents; practice killing fallen/headshots, especially if you want to be able to snipe better always find others on your team and stand behind them, that way they'll get hit first and may weaken the attacker for an easier kill by you, in other words practice team shooting try and hold an area and get comfortable with it's surroundings this will help with learning map awareness, but if your team is moving, move with them don't get caught alone. This being said don't make the same runs into battle. Use different paths and if your not comfortable, stay and let them come to you. easier seeing someone look around a corner then you sticking your head out just to die. never pop your super out in the open. the allows the animation to happen without getting scoped one shot dead and you lost your super. use special ammo and heavy crates as bait, unless your team picks it up use grenades as often as possible and if it's sticky like tripmine or lightning throw them behind your attacker or around corners but always on the sidewalls on the arena, certain maps on the ceiling (unsuspected)

Practice. Find a class and set up that works for you. Find a weapon type you like that fits your play style. Learn to aim for upper body to head shots. Learn simple tactics like flanking or head clutching or hit and run. If serious Hmu I'm always trying to help people attain skill for crucible :) GT l H3R B3A5T l

Play Over Watch, it's more balanced.

Learn how all the maps work and all the choke points for it.

4 AntwortenMost of these "pieces of advice" are just complaints about the game. Ignore them. Here are some core things you need to pay attention to. I have been in top 1% in Rumble for example so I know what I'm talking about even though I haven't played very much lately. Know your surroundings (i.e. the maps) and know how to read the radar Being aware what is happening around you is the first step to getting better at the game. Trust me. Learn the maps, pay attention to sightlines in particular. And learn how to properly read the radar, it's your best friend! (And get the Gheleon artifact!) Know when and how to react If you are overwhelmed, running is always a good option even in 2v1 scenario. In case you need/want to challenge, MANAGE YOUR SIGHTLINES! This point cannot be stressed enough. To do this, you must know your surroundings, obviously. Develop good habits and try to get rid of the bad ones This must be done consciosly in every match if you want to improve. Here are some good habits and bad habits that came to my mind: - Slide or jump/glide through door ways. This takes away some of the advantage the enemy watching the lane has. If you just run through a doorway, you'll probably get a sniper bullet to your head. - Run and hide when you are wounded, never challenge without full health unless you absolutely must. - Try to stay near you teammates. Don't run on your own on the other side of the map trying to be a MLG star. - When you are up close to an enemy with their shield down, use your melee! Don't keep shooting because it is slower way to kill and you can potentially miss your bullets. The last and the least, your loadout I'll break this one down quick: use whatever you're the most comfortable with. Nonetheless the meta weapons can be used to achieve the best result AFTER you have mastered all the things mentioned above. Eyasluna, The Palindrome, Hawksaw, MIDA, The Distant Star and such are the best weapons if you have the right rolls. Some are better on smaller maps, some are better on bigger maps. Just like special weapons. Sidearms, shotguns, snipers and fusions all have very viable weapons, like The Wormwood, Matador, 1000 Yard Stare and Praetorian Foil. The easiest way to gain edge when it comes to loadout is simple: Titan. Sunbreaker is ridiculously good and easy to use and Striker is just simply OP. Every subclass has their strenghts and weaknesses though (well...except Striker) so again, play what you are the most comfortable with! Hope this helps, fellow guardian!

Bearbeitet von OldboyVicious: 4/23/2017 11:46:37 PMI was pure trash. Now I'm somewhat decent with pure trash moments. Sometines I have a great game and even cone in first place. What helped me inprovevthe most: Map awareness and practicing headshots. Having friends who were really good PvP players that didn't mind me joining them in PvP games while they gave me pointers. In those games, especially trials, I would get wrecked every time from playing way above my level. These guys are really cool, because instead of respawning right away the would spectate and give me advice, then critique my performance. The main things they told me: When getting shot don't jump. Run and slide to nearest cover. Popping up in the air just makes you easier to hit and usually you'll die before you land. The exception is if you are getting shot through a doorway or area where jumping will get you behind a wall and out of the line of fire. Don't rush around solo. Stick with teammates and team fire enemies. If someone runs around a corner or into a hallway with really low health, don't blindly rush in after them. They will probably be waiting with a shotgun, grenade, charged melee, super, etc. Instead, keep a bit of a distance and try a grenade or get line of sight to finish them off without running into their trap. Don't keep switching up your build. Find what you like and then work on improving your play with that build until you have a decent skill with it. Don't worry about the current meta, try and focus on using what you like and what you are best at in order to counter the meta, rather than constantly changing what you are doing. If you can get a fireteam of friends willing to help you, go into a private match or PvP just to practice headshots. Take the extra time to line up the shot and only pull the trigger when you have a headshot. After a while that little micro adjustment will start to cone more naturally. Practice strafing too. Try and walk left to right, crouch, stand, as randomly as possible while also shooting at the enemy. This is especially effective in a group of people doing this. When sniping, try to use the right thumbstick (head movement) as little as possible. Practice adjusting the reticle to head height, then using your left stick (foot movement) to line up the shot. That's about all I can think of for now. Good luck. Its a good feeling when you start to see improvement so I wish you the best!

It all depends on how much you play. I'm a casual player with a .9-1.0 and I don't think it's going to get much better .This was also the first console fps that I ever played so I struggled big time early on.

Turn off your messages so you can ignore any trolls. For some reason the messages never show up on the ps4 but they were on the ps3 via PSN. At least I think it was someone trolling or it was a joke i didn't get. Shit ton of friend requests i never got either lol
