how hyped are you?
YL is the spiritual successor to banjo kazooie, one of the best platformers of the N64, made by most the same devs who worked on the series at Rare.
the $10 extra digital deluxe has a digital soundtrack and a digital artbook, plus all preorders get the "toybox" sandbox demo area from the massive Kickstarter campaign that funded the game.
the game is not without controversy however, as they removed a minor character played by youtuber/streamer jontron after he said some things considered racist on a livestream.

I have to preorder next time I get a chance. I'm 32yo and owned an N64 clearly remembering Banjo-Kazooie and how in 6th or 7th grade all of my friends were questioning how to get the eggs and ice key teased at the end. I got the sequel but never beat it. I have Rare Replay so I can dive back in whenever. Surprised to see more controversy though. Granted it cannot be worse than Conker's Bad Fur Day, also on N64. That was by far THE most controversial platforming game I've ever seen in my life, between the shitting cows, oral job on the cog's peg, pissing on rocks, etc. I even did a Let's Play of that a few weeks ago, ah the awkward memories.

Just beat the demo for it, the controls and camera seem wonky to me, but it was still fun. By the way if you want to know what you get at the end here is the spoiler. [spoiler] In the real game there's some pirate ship and near it is a lone tree. Ground pound the rock next to it for a surprise[/spoiler]

Didn't care about it before, don't care about it now. There's too many other games out as it is, and collectathon platformers fell off my radar a long time ago.

3 AntwortenI just think they're pushing it too much these days, it just looks like a Banjo Kazooie spin-off, and their last game was really bad anyways, I do like how they're remaking an all time classic with a new story and different characters, but it just seems pointless now after the original devs sold off the game to Microsoft.

I'm not super hyped or anything but I will be buying it at launch and will most likely have a lot of fun, although I'm expecting a few hairs being pulled on some parts of the game.

Already planned on getting it. But now it'll be even better since all the triggered beta males are mad Jontron got the boot.

Getting a physical copy on PS4 with hopes that they add PS4 Pro support. If it's really fun, I'll buy a digital copy on the Switch to play on the go.

1 AntwortenI don't know. I haven't looked into it, but it seems like just another indie platformer that's been getting a lot of praise. Someone explain. Also, the sound effects that play when dialogue is going are annoying as hell.
