After reading today's post by bungie I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the news. Most not all guardians don't really care what their characters look like at this point but most if not all would have loved to see their favorite and/or exclusive emblems and shaders get carried over. This news today made me feel that after 2+ years of grinding was for nothing. Love the game just wish they would revisit that idea down the road.

Nowhere did they mention emblems or shaders. I want the emblems to be carried over myself, but this morning they did not mention them at all so this is pure speculation at this point.

I agree it made me feel the whole time I played and grinded was a waste
-
1 AntwortenI'd like new emblems personally .. it's just an emblem
-
2 Antworten100% agree, i'm disappointed that emblems won't be carrying over. I was so excited to get the emblem that you see as my profile picture and to know that it's not carrying over is quite sad. I guess it explains why they basically just said " -blam!- it " and handed out a ton. But that's not the only thing, I've also got two limited time emblems from buying stuff from the Bungie store. Then you've got the harder/more RNG based shaders which unlocked after aquiring full raid sets and from faction rank ups. I suppose we'll have to wait and see because they did say that events completed in Destiny 1 will yeild rewards in Destiny 2.

1 AntwortenIf you want them go back and play the main game they will all be there. This is Destiny 2 not Destiny 1.5. I dont want all the same crap we have had for the past 3 years I want all new stuff. What the F is wrong w/ you people
-
2 AntwortenI think that we should hold on to our eververse stuff people paid good money for those cosmetic items. People spent hours grinding getting emblems, shaders all of that but spent 10 minutes in the character creation screen and that's what they decide to keep.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Killbilly Karma: 3/3/2017 8:53:46 PMEdit: HOLY WALL OF TEXT!! Someone call Trump, he could use my posts to keep really hard working people out of the U.S.! For me, the acceptability of Bungie's decision to leave all but our guardian's' appearance behind requires a wait-and-see approach. There are many negative and angry posts, and conversely many positive and supportive posts. Both types are premature, IMO. As some have pointed out here, and in other posts, it may very well be that the emotes, emblems, ships and shaders aren't being brought over because they can't be - either they are incompatible with the new game/coding or they simply don't exist in the same form, or possibly at all, in Destiny 2. If that's the case, then it is what it is and there's nothing to be salty about. However, if that's not the case then the only motivations I can attribute to Bungie for not carrying these aesthetics over is to increase the grind in the new game and/or incentivize new purchases from Eververse. Neither of those motives are acceptable and are a big middle finger to Destiny fans; at least as far as I'm concerned. As for substantive content, like weapons and armor, not carrying over . . . I understand the attachments to these items (sentimental, icons of achievements, etc.), but I understand far better how difficult having all of that follow over into a new iteration of the game could be for developing and balancing the new game. Two points to make - 1. I think we all want at least as many awesome exotic and legendary new weapons and armor in D2 as we had in D1. Hard to do if you bring in everything from the old game and try to design around it all. 2. Bungie is struggling with balancing the current content as it is. Can't imagine doubling all of the weapons and armor would have a positive impact on that ongoing struggle. And to be clear, I'm not just referring to PvP. PvE has specific balancing required as well. Let's all just hope that PvP and PvE are not the coding equivalent of Siamese Twins in D2 like they have been in D1. So . . .TL/DR: it's too early to tell if the refusal to carry over aesthetic items is a necessity rather than a middle finger to the players. Only time will tell on that score. As for guns and armor, that directly impacts game mechanics so it's completely understandable if those don't roll over, either because they can't, or because it's a better design decision that allows the devs to make a better D2.

8 AntwortenBearbeitet von SNAKEEYEZ59: 3/3/2017 9:19:13 PMThis is the exact reason Fireteam chat's Sean Finnegan was saying there should never be a "Destiny 2" Just expand on the base game. We get screwed over . All the time spent curating our arsenals and powers are now wasted. Destiny is basically a poor man's MMO. Tell me something did World of Warcraft wipe out your entire inventory every 3 years? The glaringly obvious reason they should let us keep our old exotics is ALL THE NEW EXOTICS suck hard. There are NO exotic Rocket launchers as good as the Gjallarhorn. The only heavy halfway as good is the Sleeper Simulant. Zhalo Supercell Worthless , Nemesis Star worthless, Tresspasser worthless. Hereafter worth-freaking-less. Whoever designed the epic guns like Gjallarhorn and Vex Mythoclast obviously quit Bungie and were replaced with lesser talents. Year Two and 3 99% of the exotics were less impressive than the year one LEGENDARIES. So for Destiny Two, we have more garbage Exotic armor to look forward to like the Thagmorizers? Great. Auto shard. We can forget about getting spaceship combat in Destiny 2, they are just going to go back to the drawing board on Auto rifles for 3 more years. Whoever said Bungie had a 10 year plan for Destiny was full of B.S. They have a 2 year plan they want to repeat 5 times.

1 AntwortenI am losing it over here, how can the company i used to know and love be so out of touch with their player base? The only thing everyone always wanted and agreed on was how nice it would be if we could change our day 1, hastily made, bad decisions about how to make the most op looking guardian. It's like Peter Griffin found his way into our world. So many things are the most opposite of what was asked for, its crazy. Let me know how backwards my logic is, i guess?
in not Even going to go into the hundreds of examples of other opposite things, think 60 fps good story telling releveling the same weapons at least 4 times no raid updates bad twab week after week of"hurry up and wait" crap, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHG!
13 AntwortenWhy are you disappointed....? They scammed everyone, at launch, they said that our characters would transfer over. Okay, sounds cool. Then they decided " naaaah -blam!- that bro". The problem isnt starting over, the problem is they made a promise that they clearly either werent intent on keeping and said it just to keep players playing, or they couldnt keep that promise.

1 AntwortenI just use the same 5 shaders the same 3 emblems. Doesn't make a difference to me. Just leave it all behind guys. It's not that serious.
-
I thought I'd care, about D1's ending and progressing from D1 into D2, about stuff carrying over that marks my D1 time and experience, but I don't. Not sure what to suggest for those that do feel cheated, but hopefully Bungie handle it as best they can for them.
-
i would much rather have all new content than this constant rehashing and re-skins of old stuff. Destiny desperately needs to feel new again. we've had our nostalgia content in D1 now we need new shit for D2. having said that, i am looking forward to the old raids being brought back and brought up to our light levels.

Exactly.

1 AntwortenSo, lets be clear, Bungie's loot system is to grind and grind, and then they blow it alll away. So, why would we invest our time and money into Destiny 2 only to have Bungie blow it up again.
-
Have to admit I'm very disappointed that emblems won't transfer. They are by far the easiest possible thing Bungie could transfer as they are literally tiny 2d static images - no re-making them work for a new engine etc unlike shaders. Emblems are the primary source of telling other people you encounter what your story is - what you've done or are proud of achieving in the game.
-
I get the gear and guns.....but Emblems and Shaders is what I want to hold on to Destiny 1. They really need to reconsider this.
-
FFS, can I at least keep my Vigilant Disciple emblem? Pretty kitty.
-
-
Please, let me keep my "old guard" shader!
-
8 AntwortenI wanna keep my NanoPhoenix. I'm the only one in my clan who has it, and I got it before challenges came out and I believe before hard mode too
-
Plz just shaders and emblems. That would be all id like to keep

All those blank screens are the Destiny Twitch channels going dark....
