So we all know bungie is a master of fps game play, and those of you who have played halo know they are equally as talented at vehicle combat. I never understood why there weren't more vehicles in destiny, especially since the few we have are fun as hell to use.
One of the biggest complaints of destiny are repetitive and unimaginative missions. Vehicle combat would be a welcome and refreshing change of pace. Imagine a mission where you hack into a fallen walker and lay waste to dozens of enemies, and in the end face off against another fallen walker. Even a mission where you have to race down a mountain side in a sparrow would be incredibly fun.
The vehicles already in the game are tons of fun, and massively underused. Even sparrows are underused. Please change this in destiny 2 bungie.
As an after thought, how cool would it be to have a subclass with perks that effected vehicle game play? Imagine how that would effect pvp? You could have vehicle builds AND anti-vehicle builds. Or strikes that utilize vehicles. Hell, even raids that have vehicle boss fights! And while I'm on a role here, sparrows with guns. Please bungie. SPARROWS WITH GUNS.
anyway what do you guys think?
Edit: I should clarify that I'm mainly talking about PvE here. When I mentioned Pvp, I was thinking about either combined arms or a brand new game mode. I don't want vehicles in every genre mode. That would be silly. They don't have to give us a massive fleet of vehicles. I just want a few more options to play around with, and some missions/strikes/raids with unique vehicle moments to change up the pace.
And space battles.
And yes I know this isn't the same bungie that made halo, but destiny has some of the best fps combat I've seen. The potential for good vehicle combat is there. Sparrows are a lot of fun to drive, they just need weapons. Even the other enemy vehicles have potential. Right now they just feel like an after thought, but with a little more effort bungie could make some pretty decent vehicles.
Edit 2: I totally agree that vehicle combat is not the most important issue destiny 2 needs to get right. I'm just throwing out ideas because it's fun, and because it's something I would like to see in destiny someday.

Double emphasis on space battles. It has been stupid for ships to be strictly cosmetic when Reach showcased a perfectly decent space flight simulator from Bungie.

1 AntwortenYou had me at... ''...Even a mission where you have to race down a mountain side in a sparrow would be incredibly fun...'' I'm already blown away by this idea...holy shit. OMG! Put that in a Raid!!! Why not? Right? Make something like the Siege Engine, but instead it's Slightly faster than our sparrows, so that the finish will be a Close Cut, but still a success. If you mess up on an obby ONCE, You fail. Raids already have that type of play, lmao

Bearbeitet von Kone19ps: 3/3/2017 9:03:13 PMThey purposely left out vehicles to highlight guardian movement, effectively killing the large maps in pvp as well.

flying around earth, strafing spider tanks, races...

Space battled in a space warfare game? TOO OP.
-
1 AntwortenThey need more vehicles period. I want to drive my forklifts, damn it.
-
Yes I would love to have our ships actually mean something more than a glorified loading screen! LOL

1 AntwortenSpaceship battles for PvE and PvP

3 AntwortenWould be cool, I always quite enjoyed that HoW mission where they put us against a wolf walker and we get to use the heavy pikes, although it would be way cooler if it was done on a larger scale like the Cabal tank in the Valus strike.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von PRINCE_ALI_1985: 3/3/2017 8:55:53 AM102% agreed. I've seen these weird pods with two legs in some Bungie destiny art that would be cool. And there is something always bothered me. Cabal and Fallen have vehicles what about us the Gradians, Hive or Vex? EDIT:I'm talking combat vehicles not sparrows.
-
I just want sparrows to have more meaning than just getting somewhere quicker. I want there to be places where it's almost imperative to use your sparrow, like specific paths or dangerous areas that you don't want to be caught without one..
-
But better vehicles.
-
7 AntwortenHell no we don't need vehicles in PvP dude, I wholeheartedly disagree.
-
1 AntwortenI always envisioned a cabal raid on Mars starting off with one of those huge land tanks barrelling across the desert wastes and we'd have to use our sparrows to catch up to it and board it (all whilst being chased and attacked of course). That would involve being able to shoot from your sparrow or having weapons attached.

2 AntwortenI want to see an army of goblins riding on their freaking harpies, backed up by long range fire form at LEAST 10 cyclops. Give me a literal WAVE of thralls (no room to even stand, I'm talking), with ogres scattered across Lets have a legion of cabal interceptors and goliath tanks, all ramming straight for us! I want the taken to summon in their freaking giant colossus and ogres all the while! Have siva generate more iron lord corpses! And let the fallen all be circling it in their skiffs, dropping down walker after walker! Give us super cooldowns like we saw in the previews! (25 second cooldown for novabomb, yes please!) You say that would be overpowered? I say it would be legend!!!!!!!
-
4 Antwortenthe main issues wit the current vehicles are: Pikes are less accurate with their shots than the last word, and interceptors just really aren't worth using with the low maneuverability and its damage deoesent really make up for it.
-
Just imagine us in a ship fighting Fallen Skiffs and crashing onto a Ketch....
-
2 AntwortenLOL we already had maps with vehicular combat They got taken out of rotation months after release because people hated them
-
i remember the space battle in halo reach. one of the coolest halo missions imo.
-
No it doesn't.
-
Nooooooooo

Totally agree. After playing Halo for years, the almost complete lack of vehicle combat in Destiny was very surprising. Not only is it not prominent in the PVE missions, we hardly see enemies using vehicles in general. We NEVER see the Cabal using their vehicles. I'm really really hoping that Destiny 2 has bigger maps with bigger open areas to support this. I'd love to see a multi-player vehicle a la Borderlands or Halo.

I want a giant vex frog vehicle thay jumps really high and squishes things when it lands on them.
