This is long: but it needed to be said
1st of all Bungie how do you release a major patch when half of it is unintentionally bugged because of the change you made to hungering blade. That is unacceptable considering the amount of time it has been since the last sandbox balancing update. I'm starting to think that you didn't start working on this patch til like 2 weeks ago. Unacceptable.
Now on to the changes you actually meant to make. I think 90% of them were uncalled for and will have a negative impact on the game- but I'll just hit the highlights.
Most obviously blade dancer... The only thing in need of a nerf on blade was shinobu's vow- which imo they messed that up as well. But no you nerf the whole damn subclass. Give me one reason to run blade dancer. It now has a poor super, poor melee, and a poor neutral game. You killed it- great job. This alone is enough for me to say that your whole balancing team needs reworked- nobody in this entire community called for this.
Onto special anmo- bungie this was the wrong way to go about making us use our primaries, but I'm sure you saw it as the easy way out and took it. The community has been screaming to buff primaries for months now- why don't you listen? This is going to slow the game down to a stalemate of team shotting and camping- nobody wants that.
The last thing I want to touch on is your nerf to max armor builds. Having max armor was something cool that you could choose to customize your class with because it could give you small benefits here and there. Now why would I run it? How about instead of nerfing the armor stat you buff agility so that there is a good reason to run high agility. You are basically making customization pointless by nerfing these stats. This goes to all the subclass changes as well (accept for jug, that was a perfect change).
It has become apparent now that bungie is purposely trying to slow this game down for god knows why as well as make every class play the same by nerfing all the cool things about each of them to the ground. They are trying to turn Destiny into Halo.
I am losing faith in you bungie. I feel that a studio as incompetent as the one that released this broken patch could not possibly make a good Destiny 2. It is not too late though, if you want to get the trust of your community back I seriously recommend you reverse the majority of the changes you launched today. Take another month or two, rethink your whole balancing approach- and give us a solid April update- and this time listen to the people who actually play your game.
Signed,
A concerned player

Bearbeitet von TheLastSeabass: 2/17/2017 1:54:51 AMDestiny 1 is at the end of its life cycle. Bungie will never admit that because, with a lean live team, any left over revenue generated is higher profit margin. But, through ineptness, coding themselves into a corner, poor design, lack of attention, laziness....whatever....the product in its current state is inferior compared to its own glory days. Especially if you've grinded since the beginning. I love the game but intrigued how people can keep dedicating themselves to it given the issues that never seem to get resolved and the lack of content. Personally, I've been mainly playing Warframe for the last 2 months, but I keep checking forums for a reason to come back because I want to. This did not help, so it's a holding pattern for the next news.

6 AntwortenI read the patch notes, have yet to test them out. With a few (maybe one or two) exceptions, I think this patch may be for the better. Sure, some of it seems bad right now, but one just needs to adapt. No game is going to be perfect for every single person, thus no patch will either. Give this patch at least enough time to be tested to its full potential before jumping on your high horse saying it is garbage. I will respond to myself tomorrow after I have tested this update for a little while. If my opinion is changed, I am sorry for this insult, if not, then hopefully this means Destiny is evolving to a better, fairer game.

11 AntwortenI totally can defend bungie because this patch is fun. The gameplay changes are good. Stop expecting perfection.

3 AntwortenThis patch is -blam!-ing amazing. Only people pissed are apes.

7 AntwortenThe good outweighs the bad on this one, sorry bud.

All spark you are dumb

Will play over the weekend, but the one game i got in was a vast improvement. Cant wait to test a few more guns and subclasses. So far it sounds like the noise after any pvp change. Not as bad as starcraft but still. Games changed play or as you say move on

From the DTR website: "279,061 Crucible Players Yesterday" Another drop on the way to the bottom.

TWAB: Screw You! We nerf what we want!!!

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Erijian: 2/16/2017 9:23:40 PMIMO the patch is just OK. Auto Rifles got a buff but not really enough, Handcannons are nearly perfect, and obnoxious things like Juggernaut, Thunderstrike, and HCR were adjusted. I feel like they dropped the ball on the health regen perk changes and their goal for the special ammo economy though.

Yeap agreed

I might start playing destiny again. I want to see how the new patch feels. I main primaries so if it's mostly primaries in crucible it will be fun, and I'll probably do pretty well.
-
You seem to be concerned about nerfs that were uncalled for. Remember, a re balance isn't always going to be called for, it can always just be a balance change. But I totally agree, Bungie basically did the opposite of what would be ideal in terms of classes and abilities. And exotics.

People defended Bungie prior to the latest patch? Why?
-
26 AntwortenBelieve me when I say blade is still very much useable. With almost no One having shotgun ammo blade dancer is much harder to counter. As to the special ammo change it has been amazing the game has not slowed down to a crawl nor has special been removed, rather, primary engagements have been amazing.

The lack of testing and quality control is absurd. The level of disconnect between the sandbox team and the community is insane. In their livestream one of the guys on the sandbox team said he is on reddit every 3 hours. I don't know what subreddit he is on but it is certainly nothing Destiny related. If I performed my job this poorly I would surely be let go. I would recommend the same for the sandbox team. On a closing note, I am actually enjoying this patch but it is in great part not reflective of what the community asked for and the parts we did ask for they implemented in the most asinine way known to man.

Worst nerfing of any pvp game i have ever seen
-
31 AntwortenGood god look at all the salty shotgun mains. Let's all take a moment to laugh really quick. Pull out a primary and adapt you little girls.
-
Bungie any other person in the company don't care.

4 AntwortenPlay the update for a week or two before jumping to such radical conclusions. Signed , A scholar amongst hasty dipshits.

1 Antwortenlove the patch

The health regeneration perks need to be put back into the game, special ammo seemed to be working pretty good the way it is just now. Always seemed to find a box quite easily. Shotguns being hammered is definitely a good thing in the overall fun value of the game.
-
My thoughts as an average player are bring back shotguns, health perks, truth and leave primaries as is. At least if not going to fully bring back shotties, reverse the in air nerf. Also put blink back. Thats all, have good day.
-
Agreed. Back in since a while. That Special Ammo rule is HORRIBLE!

1 AntwortenIt's not a great patch but I love the hand cannon change also I think that most of their resources are being put into destiny but I do think the bladedancer nerf was uneeded
