Can't even get past 6 wins because we ALWAYS face some player who is doing a double carry. I don't care for flawless. One is enough. Just want a 7 win for the weapon per character. And I work for it. Can't we just get SBMM in the next update? Or even have Brother Vance sell a weapon at 350 light? New one per week?
Been running Meta weapons and just can't compete with those that do carries/double carries. Decent ELO but just UNBALANCED AS -blam!-!
Update the dam game Bungie. No more "3 month updates" to say "nothing is broken."
Update 1
In 3v1 situations, the one guy who plays 24/7 on a single game is the one who wins EVERY TIME! Then the horrid players t-bag and send messages like we suck...
It just encourages hate, and it gets old. I can compete and 1v3 most teams easily, but then run into that no life that streams and does double-carries. Trials is only for those that are the best of the best, but streamers are giving FREE flawless to the worse players in the game, making it harder for us that ACTUALLY put work in to get a legit flawless. I play many games, so it's a bit more difficult. I don't spend half my life playing a single game just to get flawless 15 times each weekend.
Why give the 0.7 K/D ratios free carries? They're bad at the gametype, but majority have more flawless than my actual 2 that I worked for without carries. I'm a 1.57 K/D, and have a team that works VERY WELL together! We've been flawless those 2 times together (Asylum, First Light). And that's how it should be. Introduce SBMM in this game. Those flawless carries will disappear. Why? Because pros will play against pros, trash against trash, average against average. If you have a team with a pro "attempting" to do double carries with 2 trash, you'll play against pros. Good luck with that double carry. Implement the system dammit!
Update 2
Just about had it with the negative comments. I've seen many more positives and valid arguments. Kudos to you all that have common sense and dignity. As for the rest, your comment will be ignored and removed. Just a fair warning at this point, since I'm actively watching this feed as I work on my next set.
Update 3
Been gone for some time and see the mixed arguments. Honestly, I only asked for the carries to stop. Trials is supposed to be reserved for the best of the best. I'd rather deal with 3 pros than 1 pro giving scrubs a free pass. People ask me if I want a carry, even now (inbox has over 30 messages), and I always decline. Because you can't get good at a game when someone better than you gives you a free pass. Goes for raids as well. You need everyone on your team to work together or you all fail if one quits or dies trying.
Trials is set up poorly, and has not changed since HoW DLC release in Year 1. I was not as good as I was when Trials first arrived, but as people got better, I've gotten better and have 2 flawless that I worked for myself. I'm always willing to help those that want to work for it, but not give a free pass. I've faced many streamers/pros in the past and barely scraped by. Then we face 3 scarabs on the 7th win attempt and get stomped, over and over again. If SBMM was implemented, instead of wins/losses on your card, then I'd always face someone with my skill set. SBMM would pair me with someone close or equal to my skill, as well as finding a team with similar wins/losses on each card. So on an 8-0 run, they'd find me a team with a score of 8-0 as well, and had similar skill. The match would be even and force each team to work hard to that flawless.
If you still disagree, honestly, you need to lay off Destiny for a while. You take this too seriously and obviously don't care about other's opinions and arguments other than your own. I'm standing by my opinion, and will argue in a POSITIVE WAY instead of putting you down. That is how a community stays a community. I've never had an issue with people who actively play Halo, so follow suit guys/girls.
Final Edit
I've decided to move on. I've listened to all of you, and I love the feedback. I've changed my thoughts on it all and just gonna focus on the new meta this coming Tuesday (that is if it even changes at all). I will be sure to link my next post here about how SBMM should work, as well as have a video posted. I haven't seen anything online about how SBMM should work in the way that I see fit. It's been introduced in a couple games that I've played, so it should work out in this game, either now or in Destiny 2.
Thanks for all your feedback! See you all on the battlefield fellow Guardians!

Trials is for Streamers only, get over it.. its not for normal people anymore that do not dedicate their lives to sink in hours over hours into a game that will reset in 2018 when D2 will launch.. =D.. i dont have this time to spend i have been to the lighthouse more than once when the weapons have been good.. i am good.. no need to try to compete with professional 24/7 streamers and paid carry services =D
-
Just stop playing for like 2 days and you'll realize destiny is not worth your time. Flawless is a joke and everyone knows the system doesnt promote skill.
-
1 Antworten100% agree bro, but sadly those streamers are paid by bungie. Don't miss dr lupo aka the keyboard/mouse warrior.

12 AntwortenIf the other team has a carry, that gives you an advantage. Would you rather face the same team with all three being pro's? #logic

Bearbeitet von MrMelonized: 2/8/2017 12:23:03 AMI don't think ELO is a valid arguement for what you're trying to say. ELO is generated from your win/loss ratio but also how hard the other team was, when you won, and how easy the other team should have been, when you lose. I have around 1,400 for Trials of Osiris. I haven't been flawless. However I've encountered players with an ELO with 900 and they've been over a dozen times. I know carries are annoying but surely anyone with some common sense will kill the person(s) being carried and that will leave you one or even two players up on the person being carrying. I like the challenge that trials provides every week. I have good games and bad games. However once I get to the lighthouse, it would be of my own accord rather than me complaining on the forums trying to make it easier for myself or getting carried. Anyone the lighthouse gear has very little strategic value in PvP apart from snapshot. My advice is pull a team together that are serious about going to the lighthouse. If someone is a bit crap, practice Elimination throughout the week. Learn head glitches... I hate the damn things but they do work. Practice and learn call outs for maps. There are some great maps out there that give you great call out locations. It's a struggle getting there but complaining about select few individuals on the forums ain't going to get your ass there any sooner. Practice, practice, practice and you'll get there eventually.

I'm not trying to be mean or disrespectful towards you but you can't have a mentality that people are going to be nice to you when YOU yourself is being negative. People are better than you and me and this is the world we live in. It's your fault if you don't do research, use existing advantages, and communicate with your teammates. I hope you get to the lighthouse, but in the future please complain... with some sense. If you aren't willing to participate in some sort of carrying then don't complain. Good luck on future runs.

1 AntwortenWhat a complainer lol. I've seen worse people running no meta weapons and have gone flawless 20+ times.
-
If you can't beat a guy trying to single carry.. that's on you. Good teamwork will beat great players. For someone who claims to be so good, you sure do sound like you can only beat bad teams.. not sure why you would complain about carries.. Wouldn't you rather face a carry? rather than a stacked team? I don't understand your logic. Stay frosty.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von Technohydra: 2/7/2017 9:15:34 PMThe anger really comes from a combination of anger over the invalidation of personal investment and effort by someone shifting the paradigm away from it's impact, and the lost cost fallacy. You've worked really hard, right? Made some huge strides, got those thumbs going in all the right directions? Learned to make the tough calls and react quickly, all while talking to your team? I'll be the first to hold out a hand and congratulate you; i haven't ever been able to find a dedicated team, so I never get to try. I'm also going to tell you that none of that means anything in and of itself. You are operating under the paradigm (reality, or frame of reference for those not familiar with the term) that effort and it's results equal entitlement to positive results. On a long enough timeline, this is generally true, but there are more than one paradigm at play in trials. One is to stack a team so high that overcoming it is almost impossible. the other is to take people that don't have enough skill or effort to equal a team, and put another person in that does, plus a little. The end result is that no matter what your level of effort, you are struggling to fulfill the paradigm of having a good team, while the other team is ignoring that one entirely in favor of having either an unbeatable one or a fantastic player and 2 revivers and distractions. their paradigm is more in line with the highest-efficacy realistic situation, so there's is more likely to succeed. You aren't losing, so much as they are winning at a larger game. So long as Trials is profitable for some and desirable for others, this is going to be an issue. Best advice a non-frequent Trials player could give; expect this to be the reality, get over the negative feelings attached to it, treat every game as a team fighting a team, and play it out like any other game. Same thing when facing streamers in any list; don't let the name throw you off so badly that you lose right then and there. these people can lose, they can get tilted, and they can be frustrated, just like you. Change your approaches frequently, rotate well, identify the lynchpin of the team, and focus on eliminating them. never fight a 1v1, and never stop rotating until you get a pick. Basically, stack every odd in your favor, and ignore the possibility that something is stacked against you. You only feel bad about that if you lose; if you win, it makes it that much better. In short, you're letting a perception defeat you. Don't let the perception of the game beat you, make the other team do that. Focus on stacking the odds and just worrying about yourselves, and you'll be both happier and have a lot more success. Anger is a distraction, refuse it.

1 AntwortenIf 3 of you honestly cannot handle one guy, YOU are the problem. Its YOUR fault you get picked off one by one.
-
I think you're overstating things... my team (two decent Crucible players and me) is near winless in Trials, but we usually are up against three expert players. I think carries are less common than you think, and doubles would be nearly impossible, given the general skill level in ToO.
-
Bearbeitet von Aerios: 2/8/2017 8:56:42 PMAdding sbmm won't change anything. I'm not sure why you seem to think carriers play against potatoes for the entire card but that's not the case. How do they lose and have to restart the card if they're not playing against other top players? If a guy and his carry/carries can beat your team of three friends who "work VERY WELL together" then it sounds like we found the real problem.
-
Based on stats you seem like a good player but it seems like your teammates are holding you back (both negative trials kd and silver elo).
-
There is no logic here you are playing against one great player (2.0) and 2 trash kids you should be happy and lock down the good player. It's better than playing a 2.0 stacked team and get 5-0 lol
-
All I read was "waaaaa other people are better than us... waaaa"
-
So if those people aren't carrying, then what should they do? Would you feel better if they played with people exactly as good as them? You're complaining about playing with people worse than them. That should make the game easier. Boo hoo, someone is so much better than your entire team, that he can 1v3 you. Get over it.

Bearbeitet von Blargwahar: 2/7/2017 11:59:18 PMThe problem with Trials is that most of these top tier players have no reason to go flawless. They instead give themselves a reason by carrying others and claim that they are helping the community when they are potentially ruining 21 other people's (7 wins with boons × 3 players per team) chance of going flawless just to get 1 person flawless. In the end, it all comes down to the top tier players who have a Twitch/YouTube and they want more viewers so they can earn more money. (I'm about to be completely honest right here. If you can't handle the truth and it "offends" you in any way, I suggest moving on to another comment.) If people would just grow the -blam!- up, stop with the whole, "I'll never go flawless and I never will" mentality, and actually go LFG, I can guarantee that you can go flawless. I'm not a top-tier player, and I'm not a garbage player. I'm right in the middle of the skill pool. I get my group of friends and we go flawless. Sometimes we win against the 2.3+ K/D players. Sometimes we lose to the 0.7 K/D players. The whole thing that Trials is meant for the top percent of players is the dumbest thing that I have heard. (Here comes the motivational part of the comment) I truly believe that anyone can go flawless. (no matter how bad you think you are) If you just stop with the whole self-denunciation and actually go on LFG and find a group of cool people, (not the elitist jackasses who expect perfection) you can go flawless.
-
Take what you get and roll with it. I have nearly the worst kd and ELO of the game but I still go in every weekend for the challenge what ever it is. What's there is there and you have a choice to go with what you got or the choice to not play the game mode. You want to sculpt a certain game mode then do private matches. Your point if there is even one is fruitless.
-
Nope. Everything will continue a spiral. Whichever direction you believe it is spiraling.
-
Just don't play it and your life will improve ten-fold.
-
Well think of it like this you're basically saying that even when you have an advantage you still can't win so you are the problem because of your low skill level. But look at the other side some top tier players don't have friends of their skill so they may just be doing trials with a close friend. So if you want to add SBMM so more people can play also consider that if that happens so top tier players wouldn't be able to go flawless because their friends are bad. So if you do that your not only making the grand reward of the lighthouse easier to obtain but you are also punishing the players that spent all of their time to get good at destiny.

1 AntwortenIf the 'carries' stopped how would the lag switching Bunghole employees and their butt buddy friends make extra cash on the side for their sub-par made game?
-
Just change the game mode from elimination to Skirmish. That would stop a very large amount of the carries going on. Skirmish is too fast paced compared to elimination to do a double carry, or a single carry even. I hate trials, I get whooped all the time. I started playing trials super late into the game and learned the hard way that you don't just rambo your way thru the map. At the same time I don't have much desire to play it because of how passive it is. Not to mention the addition of Skorri's into PvP, I would get way too triggered to play trials nowadays. IF the game mode is really pissing you off that much, running into streamers or whatever, than just don't play it, lol. IF you have all the y3 trials gear and weapons than what the hell is the point of grinding that playlist repeatedly unless you are a streamer who helps people. No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to play trials, bud. Git gud, or like I did, git out.

2 AntwortenSimple solution: If you've gone flawless during the current weekend on that character, then you get put into a flawless playlist. The old playlist will remain for those who haven't achieved flawless that weekend. In the flawless playlist, the old flawless emblems and scarab emblem should be in the loot pool. Thus, flawless players still have something to go for if they don't already have the emblems.
