It hurts to go look back at year 1 gameplay. The game was imo amazing. Pvp was competitive because there was no rng in gunfights, primaries were strong, classes were pretty balanced, and overall the game had a skill gap. Yes last word and thorn were op but everyone had access to those guns. Weapons were rerollable so players could obtain rolls without the ridiculous grind we have now. Crucible was about who had more skill rather than who has the better rng or better roll on their weapon. Bloom wasn't a thing as well.
All in all, year 1 pvp was the most fun for me. I could play for hours and not get bored. The game was addicting especially if u played sweats. Now, I get on only to get frustrated when I run into a lobby with 5 brain dead shocklocks. Please bungie, start listening to the top pvpers when it comes to balancing crucible. Top pvpers have a better understanding how things should work and what makes the game more competitive.
Listening to the casuals has given us a pvp where max armor is a thing (surviving 3 taps), a melee that can kill u from Africa (stormcaller melee), bloom is a thing, ttk on primaries is so bad that everyone jus runs at u with a shotgun, and exotic weapons r weak meaning legendaries are more sought out for which then leads to more rng. This game has gotten worse and worse with each update. Hopefully, the next update buffs the hell out of primaries and removes bloom otherwise I don't see many of the top players playing this game anymore.

I learned what a nerf was because of destiny y1. Thanks bungie

4 AntwortenIn y1 shotguns had much more range , now in y3 everyone cry for their range, but want back y1 meta .... ok

u speak the truth man year 1 all the way. all they needed year 1 was to buff pulse rifles and scouts. they are destroying this game till nothing is left

4 AntwortenY2 was best for me. I started improving in the start of y2 and i played tons of crucible. I loved it when i could use everything and do kinda well.

They shouldn't be 'OP' if they're readily available to everyone. It lowers the desire in finding decent items elsewhere because hey "I've already picked up my preset exotic instant-win weapon! Why bother trying to get anything else?".
Weapons were rerollable so players could obtain rolls without the ridiculous grind we have now.
The re-rolling system was in direct conflict with the core loot-system so it was removed. Doesn't take much to understand why it was a bad thing to have in the game.
Bloom wasn't a thing as well.
It's also the only thing that is stopping the no-skill hand cannons from completely dominating Crucible. Before bloom? Any idiot with two-thumbs could easily win with a hand cannon. After bloom? Now it takes actually decent skill, not just with the gun but with your character as well, to win with a hand cannon. It rewards skill now more so than it did before. Before, hand cannons did half the work with their insane aim-assistance and innate weapon accuracy that nearly pulled the shots into an opponents head. Rubbish.
Now, I get on only to get frustrated when I run into a lobby with 5 brain dead shocklocks.
You could say the same thing during Year-1 as well, so that's no different.
Top pvpers have a better understanding how things should work and what makes the game more competitive.
I'm sure these same "Top PvPers" would also be ones who say that weapon re-rolling was good (it wasn't) and that elemental primarys are needed (they're not), or that subclasses have been nerfed (buffed), or that bloom killed hand cannons (didn't) or that Year 1 PvP was 'better'(it wasn't). Yeah, because they would know what they're talking about. (They don't. Spoilers.)
That's generally how games work when it has stats like that. People can make choices. Weird. Amplitude does nothing but just increase the range. Kind of a let down when most other melee-upgrades actually give something bigger in return. If someone chooses to sacrifice having a bland stat upgrade instead of a utility perk, that's on them. Maybe if Crucible matches didn't let players run around with 15 shotgun rounds, maybe people wouldn't be running about with a shotgun? Year 1 saw a ridiculous abuse of special weapons. It's been toned down since then but it was still ridiculous. Did many primary weapons have a slightly faster time-to-kill? I think so. (Can't recall. Too little of a difference for it to mean anything.) Does it matter? No, players still ran around with special weapons, abusing them to no end. Exotic weapons were never meant to be the workhorse of a players arsenal. That role is meant to be for legendary weapons. This has been brought up in near every time that an exotic weapon got adjusted. They want exotic weapons to feel powerful (most if not all do) while not actually being powerful. They want players to search for those really nice legendary weapons because if everyone was able to get their hands on a generic exotic weapon with static perks, why bother playing the game more to get something else? Leads to more RNG? What game do you think you're playing? Destiny's core loot-system is based around random rewards and you're complaining that someone might get something that is better that may lead them to having a better chance at winning? Just stop. Crucible will never be balanced with the current inventory system. Not in Year 1, Year 2, and it certainly doesn't seem like it going into Year 3. Just stop with this nonsense of a 'balanced Crucible'. It can't happen unless major inventory changes are made, and those wouldn't happen right now. So what if the top-players stop playing the game? It's not meant for them. It's catered to the casual-shooter crowd and is meant to be played casually.

1 AntwortenAnything other than year one is a PvP abortion. It's the only year it took skill to win trials or really anything in PvP. That's why the y1 emblem is the only exotic emblem in the game.
-
I am with you. Year 1 was the best PVP experience.
-
I'll take year 1 over this any day.

24 AntwortenThere has never been a sniper meta

I enjoyed the pulse rifle meta around taken king's release and December.
-
All the game needed from Year one was. 1. Range drop offs to tame overperforming ARs, and buffs to make PRs usable. 2. nerfs to specific OP exotics ( Suros, Thorn, HM, VM, Pocket Infinity, Gjallarhorn) And that was it. But instead the Sandbox team wanted to back-engineer the game...and slow it down to play like Halo in the Crucible. So for two years they nerfed EVERYTHING into the ground. With exception of Pulse Rifles, EVERYTHING in this game is about 15-20% WEAKER than it was in Year One.
-
Actually listening to Trials whiners ---and trying to force the Crucible to play like Halo----has given us the current meta.
-
I was not a good enough PvP player in year 1 to judge it, so I'll pick year 2 meta
-
Yeah year 1 was the best it was a bit broken but mostly it was fun and varied that's what made destiny so good back in the day now it's extremely repetitive and getting old quick.
-
Year 2 pre April update was the most fun ive had in this game.
-
You have to be more specific with year one. Most of the year crucible was hot garbage
