In my opinion this what is causing so many problems. Perks that add range and/or stability are just straight broken.
Bungie designs these guns to be balanced with the stats they are made with. 3 shot scouts have no stability, and fast firing pulses have massive kick. But then you slap on a few stability perks and WHA BAM! You've got yourself a sniper.
Range perks on hand cannons make them snipe people way out of their range.
Remember the doctrine? Ever use that gun with no upgrades? It sucks, the reason it was so good was becasue of the added stability.
People complain about shotguns because of added range perks.
This game would be a whole lot easier to balance if people couldn't just abuse the range and stability perks on guns. Just please Bungie, think about just leaving the perks at things like Crowd control and outlaw. Stuff that doesn't change its base stats.

Please. Hell, get rid of all the perks except the main ones. 90% of the gun issues in the game are caused by the middle tree.

3 Antworteninstead of removing the perks they should give each archtype of weapon a set of specific perks that it can roll with. for example, fast rate of fire weapons should still get stability and range perks, but not as strong as low rate of fire ones. not to mention that high impact weapons should stagger and flinch oppents more / stronger than fast rate of fire weapons. however autos for example should get different "main" perks than pulses. perks that make them excel at their roles instead of having almost all perks on every gun possible. for example, fast firing autos are supposed to keep an enemy suppressed, forcing them into cover or something like that. so give them a perk that increases the dmg of each bullet the longer you shoot at the target or something similar. experiment and create variety based on that. maybe even slowing enemies down if you keep shooting at the enemy for a set amount of time / hit a certain amount of bullets. having more useful and desireable perks to chose from instead of the typical "max range, stability" setting would greatly benefit weapon variety and people would experiment more and find their own play style. removing is the wrong way, the game will only become dull. its already dull and most people (not addressed to you) want things nerfed and make the game even more boring. balance doesnt always mean only nerfing or removing. after all, removing shot package didnt solve anything. the problem for shotties for example are still the small and cluttered map designs with only a few mid-open areas and the fast player movement speed.

3 AntwortenI don't really like this idea. There are some guns that have worse base stats than other guns in the same archetype. Also, some guns NEED those perks to be viable, like bullet hose autos, as those have a bad base stability and range. I just feel like removing those perks wouldn't balance things at all. If anything, it would make things worse.

7 AntwortenI can see your point but it f they did that they would have to remove about half of the perks in the game. Which would probably cause them to have to create new perks which might be even more OP than before. Just my thoughts on this.

7 AntwortenI agree with you. I'd prefer all weapons base stats to stay the same. I would also like to see all weapons with a set elemental damage. Then we all could resist specific damage types with our armor and help negate trendy meta weapons.

1 AntwortenI understand where you're coming from with this idea and I kind of agree and disagree at the same time. Yes these perks are very advantageous on some weapon archetypes, i.e clever dragon, matador. But and it's a big BUT, weapon perks are one of the main factors that separate destiny from most other shooters. They could just tone down these perks in destiny 2 but to get rid of such things would just make this call of duty.

It's a rather sad story.

3 AntwortenI like how Titanfall 2 does perks for guns. Increased reload speed, more ammo, different scope, etc. All guns allow you to choose the same perks, and they don't drastically affect gameplay. Pretty balanced compared to Destiny.
