Hi,
anyone playing ToO can split its experience in 3 tiers:
0-4 wins: beside the unlucky match, you get matched quite fairly to average players.. (1400-1500 ELO max)
5-6 wins: you get matched with 1700-1900 teams.. matches start to become more sweatier..
7-9+ wins: you EXCLUSIVELY get matched against 1900+ ELO teams
with the shrink of the userbase (less mixed pve/pvp players and more try harder) the 7+ win became defacto a barrage to any average teams. (1200-1500 ELO) .
Bungie , could you please review the 7+ win matchmaking range ? we shouldn't be matched with
2000+ players doing carry all the week end or just pub stomping for the fun of it given the smaller user base.
you have several solutions to this:
- introduce more SBMM past 7 wins.
- put characters who achieved flawless in a separate matchmaking pool
- remove the 7-9+ bracket altogether and make it 0-4 and 5-9+
people are getting tired of this try hard mode and that's all what is left to do in destiny right now..
edit: according to guardian.gg there is 40000 flawless account across both PS4 et xbox each week.
currently someone with ELO 1700 is rank 23,079 in ToO playlist on PS4 alone.
this mean that the average ELO of team going flawless is likely in the 1800+..
edit2: so 70% agree that ToO MatchMaking s broken and the only who doesn't are certainly the top30% or people who don't even play the mode. fair enough i would say.. @Deej @Lars Bakken and Derek Carroll we know nothing will change for destiny 1 but take this into account for destiny 2. You can't keep something fair when the base assomption are different because of the players defects which in this case is mainly due to the matchmaking alone.

Trials is just overrated

I stopped playing so others can have a chance at flawless

Bearbeitet von gilded_hotdog: 1/9/2017 9:21:19 PMI'm conflicted because there should be something special for people that are good at pvp. However, alot of gear is kept from the average user base. The only real solution is to get rid of flawless. Make it more like IB with rank and all that. Just get wins and no losses on cards. The best would obviously finish faster but the average would take longer to get their wins and loot eventually and it would keep the population higher. As far as rewarding good players, why dont thay just have a real tournament and rhe winners get money like other games MLG? This will never happen but it's really the only thing you can do to make it "fair". Any SBMM adjustment would just get exploited or still complained about. So I just dont play. I lose too many people I like playing with because of trials fails. I'll stick to raids and IB.

It shouldn't be fair

This weekend I had a run where the best player we played was 1537 elo

4 AntwortenThose "brackets" you created aren't actual there, you just perceive it that way. That just occurs because as you get higher and higher in win count, the probability of facing a better team increases because in each match the team that plays the worst is eliminated, and the usually better team moves on. I'm a fairly decent player, but not the 2000 ELO elite level, and I work for my flawless every week. Sometimes, I can go a whole card against below 1600 players, and just breeze the flawless. Other times? Well, this weekend alone, I've gone against number 99, 120, 14, and 3 in the world by ELO. I still think that trials should be kept the way it is. Right now, it rewards the top players with Lighthouse. If it goes to SBMM, it awards Lighthouse to top of each narrow skill group. That would be like a high school giving out valedictorian to the top student from each class. And here is Jimmy, our top student from Algebra 1A. That's not an accomplishmemt, sorry Jimmy. That doesn't deserve a reward. Anyway, yeah, that's just my opinion. As far as the top tier players getting easy flawless, they get flawless the same as anyone else, they have the same matchmaking. Trials isn't easier for them, they're better at it.

Bearbeitet von Swiftlock: 1/9/2017 9:13:26 PMI didn't stop playing Trials because of people expecting a competitive endgame mode's matchmaking to somehow become comfortable and fair for every single player. I stopped playing because PvP is stale.

2 AntwortenSo basically you stopped playing "trial" because it's unfair... despite the fact that Bungie has said that average players shouldn't get to the lighthouse.
-
1 AntwortenThey need to do something to increase the player base actually playing trials instead of waiting in a q trying to win a raffle How about replacing the current matchmaking back to how I hear it was in year 1, completely random each time with some connection based factored in. Also remove boons, but change it so that if you lose a match on the next match if you win the loss is removed from your card. Flawless is still 9-0, but with the chance to remove loses from your card by winning.

I wish that there were a more fair system of matchmaking in trials, especially to help out guys like me who have never been to the lighthouse. However, bungie is not good at making good matchmaking so whatever. Maybe a system not only based on your card but your overall stats like "times flawless", elo (like srsly, isnt the elo stat supposed to calculate ur skill vs other players!?), or weekly kd. Thoughts anyone?

2 AntwortenTrials is a tournament style playlist, which is a pretty unique in Destiny. Why ruin it by making it like everything else? This is just how tournaments work. When the 700th seed draws Roger Federer in Wimbledon does he cry about it and say it's not fair, why should I play good people to get the rewards? No he doesn't because he's an adult. If you haven't made it to the lighthouse yet you just need more practice, I was rubbish at the game when it first came out. Never came on here crying about it. Now I've got 60 days played and like anyone who's played a lot of Trials I've learned how to make a flawless run here and there.

The poll question (title) and answers don't match up.

1 AntwortenYour poll says yes but disagrees with the title and it says no to agree with the title...
Is that meant to tilt the poll?
Its not made for the majority. Its made for the best.

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von Pat: 1/9/2017 6:00:38 PMLol Bungie already handed out the Clever Crutch to basically everyone. Not to mention the broken skorris where most of the shitty players sit outside on this map getting a tan and super farming. The Lighthouse isn't meant for average players
-
1 AntwortenBungie said that the lighthouse isn't intended for the average player, so I doubt they'll change it
-
6 AntwortenUnfortunately paid carries and account recovery is BIG business these days in trials. It really sucks and turns off alot of average players that want to participate
-
Your poll is totally biased towards your own feelings on the subject. Fail.

4 AntwortenBan all red bars and cheaters then we'll talk

1 AntwortenNothing in Destiny's PvP is "fair." Why should Trials be any different?
-
2 AntwortenFewer teams playing. That's why. We matched the same team 3 times on one cart.
-
I stopped once I got 4 teams in a row with 2.0kd+ and over 2,000 elo.
-
Bearbeitet von Erijian: 1/9/2017 6:52:30 PMHow is playing against people on the same win as you unfair? It only makes sense to play against better people as you climb up in wins.
-
6 AntwortenI'd like to see Bungie publish some descriptive statistics on who is getting to the lighthouse. When you look at Trials Report, you see that anywhere between 150k to 200k accounts have achieved a flawless card. Out of those 200k, how many are getting flawless across three characters and exiting the tournament... How many are simply sticking around because they are making money?

Plays need to be made to go to the light house. The past three flawless cards for me have been 3-1 or 4-1 comebacks on the final win. All 7 matches are challenging because EVERY team will have a first, second, third, fourth win on their card and etc. That is why you may be playing teams with those Elo ranges. It's just the luck of the draw of who you get paired with on that win. I don't understand why people don't understand that. Try to not look up your opponents before the match. Some people will find out they're playing a high skilled player or streamer and let it affect the way they play. Instead of complaining about who you get matched against, Get team chemistry with players who complement your play style and practice. Soon enough you will be pulling off wins against top tier teams.
