I have been playing video games since I was a child and I have never witnessed so much hate, malice, ignorance and just flat out irritation In my entire life. This game makes people so angry and brings out the absolute worst in people. Video games are supposed to be fun and help people relax. Can someone please explain the epidemic that is destiny please? Thx.

Empowered through anonymity, being raised differently/badly, personality. I don't know why a person's toxicity would be attributed to a specific game. If that's how they would act when frustrated/angered that's not onus to the game, even if it frustrates them more frequently than others or other things. I'm not someone who cusses outside of gaming. Doesn't matter what game it is, probably every game I've played has frustrated me to the point of swearing at one point, CoD was the worst for me which is why I gave it up and started playing Destiny. But I don't see why I'd need to be a douche toward others online. Some probably just find being negative easy and/or a necessary satisfaction. Toxiiic

1 Antwortennobody plays video games to relax. you play to get you adrenaline going and for the thrill. unless you're playing a puzzle game or a walking simulator. every community has people that complain because that's how games get better. if we never complained, this game would be an even more unbalanced mess. now, if you mean people are outright mean to one another, yeah, go play gears of war and have your virgin ears broken in. that game is nothing but rage and it's better for it.

1 AntwortenPeople who are weak, get picked on etc.. like to get on forums and pretend they are tough and strong. In reality they would never act this way face to face with most of us. It gives them a sense of being tough if you will. In reality they are not.

Personally, I blame Kanye West.

Bearbeitet von Cowhand7: 1/4/2017 2:32:36 PMThe way the game is set up, it only fosters helping people in the raids. Everything else, is dog eat dog. Now the raids only foster partnership if you can perform. If not, then you become the goat of the raid and that certainly fosters bad feelings. In pvp, the game is set up, with comments from the moderator, to foster bad behavior. Emotes foster bad behavior. The fact that you can kill another guardian with a sparrow fosters bad behavior. Things built into the game fosters bad behavior. Bungie constantly changes things, which keeps people in constant frustration. You never can count on anything from day-to-day. When people spend the kind of time that Destiny requires, then have that time investment taken from them on a whelm by an employee at Bungie, you can understand why people are angry. There is also a lot of in-game cheating that goes on. This is very frustrating to me. So I know it is to other people. People are using mod controllers on scout rifles, and some guardians are impossible to kill one-on-one. The later is most troubling, since someone at Bungie would have to be giving them that ability. When you see people acting as they do in Destiny, remember, Bungie both fosters and rewards bad behavior. So, is it any wonder that the actions you describe are prevalent in Destiny?

COD and Gta 5 are pretty bad too.

2 AntwortenThe worst? Have you actually played video games this generation?

There are numerous factors, and it's not localized to Destiny. 1. FPS + "Competitive" PVP. Unlike WoW where the PVP aspect is because of the story and which side you choose along with being locked to certain zones and in some locations only when you flag yourself for PVP, many of the current FPS games are all about a pissing match to see who is the best. This breeds Elitism in the community. 2. Streamers. NOT ALL STREAMERS - quick to throw that out there because people get worse than politics when you say anything against their chosen internet celebrity. Many streamers tend to go for the obnoxiously vocal and over the top personalities to get kids to watch them. Some really get into character and take it quite far. And an entire generation of gamers have been shaped by watching that stupidity. 3. Raid mechanics / Boss encounter mechanics that focus on weapon archetypes. For Crota it was dropping the shield quick. For Skolas it was the current burn and the power weapons you had to take him down quick. For Oryx it was certain high DPS long range weapons along with the unique raid specific weapon that really only found its niche in the raid. 4. RNG loot system. This has bred another form of elitism. If you are fortunate, you quickly become a desired player on teams. If you are unlucky, sucks to be you, go back to yo mama's basement neckbeard. 5. The combination of a pissing match PVP system in a "we are all on the same side fighting evil" PVE story game. The Flawless elites vs the Riad Gods. It's a smaller sect of the community, but I have encountered some that are toxic to each other over their extreme skills on one side with a lack on the other. Points 3 - 5 are a bit more Destiny centric, but still plague many multiplayer FPS games of today.

Its like that in every Online game I encounter. People just like to be jerks.

Say anything positive about bloom, I dare you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

1 AntwortenIt's not the game its how the internet allows people to anonymously say things to others that they would be hesitant to say in person. It doesn't matter the game or activity players seem to be a lot bolder behind their mic/ screen than in person.
-
The players are a reflection of the game.
-
Bad parenting They do it for attention and to make other people's lives worse because they can't do anything to improve their own and that makes them feel better. All under cover of the anonymity of the internet so there is little chance of them having to face any consequences Unfortunately, when the negative comments get over a certain amount people start copying just to join in because they think it is the "in" thing to do; part of the pack mentality

I am new to Destiny but I come from Halo 5, it's not just Destiny, in fact it really can't get any worse than halo 5. Even the people in your own company are crazed lunatics. People just suck in general these days. Back in the Early days of Xboxlive or PSN it was few and far between you had to deal with a turd biscuit.

1 AntwortenI think you mean humanity as a whole, yeah?

I think , its because hours which u spend on game always higher than in single playing, ppl wasting so much time on game and sometimes getting nothing for that, not sometimes, but usually. Thats why ppl much more agressive , i think. Like trials os osiris, u can spent 3 hours to get 8 wins and on 9 u can get 3 Ahmed brothers with red ping, of course u getting rage, simple.

I have seen that side of Destiny many times. It's the main reason I haven't finished HM raid yet.

Lol the division is worse. Destiny is fine.

3 AntwortenBecause I have a feeling most of the cod players came here since destiny was also made by Activi$ion. The cod forums were already toxic, but now these forums are on par with them :/

It's just the vocal ones. You should have seen the CoD community back in the day. It was thousands of times worse.
