local fireteam connection

This is another post about 2 consoles on same network unable to join. im just adding to the numbers. have attempted multiple combinations of power cycling and cache resetting for the two consoles and the modem. i have actually tried it on two different modems due to a recent upgrade with no success. i have allocated static IPs to both consoles and set up port forwarding for both. and also tried having one console static with the other on auto dns and ip (both combinations). i have tried the whole timed joining or joining players with destiny not started or characters not selected and tried different characters and different methods of joining the problem also never declares an error, only that it should be tried again. also it seems to start joining the team abd then the "joining foreteam box" pops back up just before changing to the whole try again message. this is a joke and its been going on for too long. this issue was present in y1 and was fixed, it shouldn't be hard to find out which piece of netcode has leaked back into the final patched netcode or which section is causing conflict. the fact that its taken months to resolve this and only weeks to tweak your economy doesn't look good for your company's on going public relations. other than that.... gg bungie. *edit* There has been a few solutions thrown around below so have a read. but currently a temp fix which works so long as all consoles do a quick network check at the same time and then join destiny at the same time and fireteam up straight away is described below.... hardly a permanent result but id rather a bandaid while waiting than cascading disappointment every day. *additional edit* this fix didn't work last night despite an hour of attempts and various combinations of hard cycling and network tests. this issue is a fickle bitch

  • I'm having the same problem. Can't connect with my husband in a fire team. I got a new router and our nat is always open, I can connect with other players, but he and I can't connect. We've rebooted the router, modem and I've tried wireless. This is the second time in just a few days that this is a problem. Please fix this Bungie!

    • I have Netgear Nighthawk. I have only had problems connecting 2-3 times with a Fireteam. Last serval weeks we have had all 3 Xbox Ones in a single Fireteam with no problems.

        From day one until ROI 'fix' I had no issue with local fireteam connections and my wife and son and I would play lots together. Since then I'm lucky if I can get two connected. Three?! There's only so many resets and reboots I'm willing to try. The help docs have not helped. It's frustrating enough for us to spend our family gaming time in Warframe with, guess what, no connection issues. It's slowly drawing us away too. I really hope Bungie fix this soon.

        Me and my dad have it working pretty reliably on our ps4 and ps4pro. Here's how we did it Both are connected using a cable via a network switch to a fibre modem with Upnp enabled and Nat accleration disabled. What the switch does is it does all the necessary port forwarding automatically and reliably. Second we renamed one of the ps4s (setting is found in the system settings on ps4) because all ps4s from our experience have the same factory issue name (ps4-944) which can screw up your modem. Finally if we have any connection issues (which still happens occasionally) then we can solve it simply by doing a network test (in ps4 network settings) and then re launching destiny immediately. This has worked reliably for 3 days for us and allowed us to do raid reliably. Hope this helps other ps4 users and could be adapted to xbox maybe idk. Glhf guardins :)

        • Yup. Same thing.We 2 xbox one(s) in the same house with the same error over and over. Any attempt gives the unable to join at this time message followed by " not all players are currently joined in a fire team" message if you are in orbit. Glad we bought a second copy and a second xbox. We have gone through every forum and tried every solution. The refer a friend doesn't seem to work well either. connected?

            You say you set up port forwarding. Well, that could be part of the problem. If more than one device requires the same port, such as when connecting two consoles, you must use Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). UPnP will forward all needed ports automatically. For UPnP to work reliably, each console connecting through the router should have a static IP address. After you assign each console it's own unique static IP address, turn off port forwarding, reboot your router, then turn on UPnP. Verify all changes were saved, then reboot your router again. While you're waiting on your router to reboot, clear the cache on both consoles. If you need help figuring out any of the above, a simple Google search should help. Bungie also created a [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Support/Troubleshoot?oid=12915]network troubleshooting guide[/url] which covers much of it as well.

            • I'm having the exact same problems now!!! For months!! I've tried every so called trick and this was never a problem for up to four people all on the same network year one and two. Fix astat!!!!
