Sadly it's true.
For some of us with disabilities it's a meaningless (and at times hurtful) phrase thrown at us.
Our KDs are laughed at
Our ELO becomes the topic of mirth.
But we carry on regardless.
Why ?. Because our struggle is real. Every little achievement is that much sweeter because we've worked for it. It's not a natural gift of split second reflexes and hand-eye coordination but a slow often painful process where we've died a million times before doing something you've probably done in your sleep.
To anyone out there who has befriended, supported, teamed with or match made with someone with a disability,
Thank you.
Edit : this was meant as a thank you. Unfortunately I've been accused of demanding sympathy, pity, playing the disabled card etc. I have re-read what I wrote and I'm pretty sure I'm thanking people for their friendship and support...
But I will try again.
Thank you. Thank you for making Destiny enjoyable.
Is that clearer ??

I sympathize for you, and I honestly find it funny when people are bad. Not in the way they mess up the raid at the last boss way but in the "my friend just die cause he thought he as a tank way" (my warlock friend said to us "I'm a tank" and the next second later he died). Back to the point that people who are bad kinda bring a nice spirit to the raid or strike for they break the tense and stressful mood of nightfall or whatever end game activity you are doing (mostly because of there funny and random deaths) Yet it can get annoying at the raid on hard mode, but I still try to remember people may not have the same level of skill or time to improve that skill as I do, so I just laugh it off.

29 AntwortenMy wife is one of those who fall into those mentioned, even though her disability is more of a mental one then physical (Asperger's). We have worked on missions, quests, strikes, raids, etc, and if we have to repeat a part of it too often, she can get very frustrated and even break down crying. We have had several parties kick us because of this. We have had to stop in the middle of activities and step back for a time. Even with the problems she has, she has kept up to me in progress since the release of rise of iron, even surpassed me at times. Destiny is the first video game she has really gotten into and has helped her out more then I can ever truly explain. I will often play alongside her instead of joining other events just to help her out. She is always willing to help out others as much as possible both in game and in really life and I love her so much for that.

Bearbeitet von TheArtist: 1/3/2017 1:43:37 PMIgnore the haters and the ignorant. How you deal with any other prejudice. The only person you're competing against is yourself. When you play just a LITTLE bit better than you did the last time.....when this month you play just a LITTLE bit better than you did last month..... ...you are "getting good". Getting good in the only way that matters in a KIDS GAME., that NONE of us are getting paid to play. Besides too many people around here confuse the benefits of YOUTH (fast reaction time) with those of TALENT. Good work Guardian.

1 AntwortenI dont have a disability but here's the thing I always say to ever jackass who brings k/d ratios an things into discussion. These people who bring these topics into a conversation you are not a real gamer you are not a true gamer enough said. A real gamer a true gamer plays a game to have fun an maybe kick alittle ass in the process but overall have fun playing games an don't really stride to do anything imparticular. But these people who bring k/d an whatever into a conversation play games just to say I'm better then you when they literally waste there lives playing games.
