Does bumping still help

I quit for a year and came back last week Current light cap - 400 Crucible meta- fast firing pulses/ matador shotgun Below is what someone told me. Start by farming strikes, the blues that drop from boss kills go up to 385 light. Once you reach 385, go to Archon's forge for ghost shells. Artifacts can drop too but not as often. Still do strikes and open up the hoard chests at the end, the loot inside goes up to 400. This is how I get my artifacts. NOTE: Winter's run drops only a shotgun from the chest so if it's your special you need to level up, that's where to go. Blighted Chalice only drops the hunter helmet from the chest so use that strike to level up your helmet. The nexus only drops the Titan mark from the chest so use that for class items. Exotic engrams help as well for infusion fuel. In my opinion don't level up exotics until around 390. You'll find that you'll keep wasting exotic shards to bring them up. Also, make sure you put on your best armor/weapons before opening chests/decrypting exotic engrams. You want them to be higher level, not the same or lower. FARM SRL. Lots of gear and weapons are dropping that go up to 400. Plus it's not sweaty, no matter what place you get in you have a chance of getting something good. Normal mode Wrath of the Machine only drops up to 385 FYI, hard mode goes up to 400.
