Who controls the Taken?
In the updated Nexus strike, the Taken have returned. Who is controlling/leading them? The Taken version of Oryx? If so, how? And will we see him again soon?

I think they are just searching for a new worthy leader to command them, just my idea

8 AntwortenOryx is removed from the throne and Malok is dead. This leaves four possibilities. 1. Oryx still has control despite being trapped in the Touch of Malice. 2. Savathun got a powerup due to the unknown amount of time Malok gave her Oryx's power/Savathun got power since she and her siblings killed each other all the time. 3. Xivu Arath gets the latter of 2 4. The Taken have to make decisions on their own.

11 AntwortenIt doesn't necessarily take place in current game time(post roi). Technically speaking, all taken strikes could occur before Oryx was defeated, even if we are just now getting access to it. I personally don't think they should have made a new version of nexus since the echo chamber strikes entire premise is based on the fact that we killed the nexus mind. So chronologically it would have been regular nexus then echo chamber with no room for taken nexus mind. I'd say that any "variant" strikes are non canon.

11 AntwortenAccording to the strike, the chain of command is trickling down. That's why we have to take out the Captains. After Oryx died, it's possible that elites among the Taken began leading their own groups. Taken Fallen were grouping up with Taken Fallen, Vex with Vex, etc. Without Oryx imposing his will among them, they're returning to their natural behaviors. They'll still be Taken. But they'll start acting like regular enemies again.

No one. The hive fight over the mantle. After defeating Oryx, we had the opportunity to take the mantle. Even toland told us to, but we refused because we already had weird helmets instead. So now that it is available for the taking, others take a chance at claiming it. Alak-Hûl, Malok, the prison taken centurion. They are probably controlled by lesser generals taken by Oryx. They might follow protocol installed by Oryx to give themself a new leader, or even still by Oryx himself inside the ravenous heart.

At this point I think it's just really high ranking majors unless there is lore that hasn't been made known to us

It's possible that an echo of oryx is controlling them but I like to think it is Quria

If they update all the old raids then, oryx will return.
