I'm working on the No Time To Explain exotic, and I'm honestly wondering, with the returning ammo to the magazine on precision hits perk, is it worth getting specifically for a boss killer rifle for bosses like Golgoroth and others? And is it a decent PvP rifle?

Personally, I think NttE is a pretty decent gun, but it just gets outclassed by other exotics, and some legendaries. If I had to use an exotic primary (for anything), my first choice would be Bad Juju, which is... essentially the same thing, full auto, not having to worry about reloading every 5 seconds, unless you are exclusively shooting a boss, in which case you likely have already unloaded all 14+ sniper rounds into its dome, and it's the final few seconds of the dps phase so reloading isn't a huge issue. But the real reason Bad Juju > NTtE for me: super gains increased. During kings fall, with Max int and juju, I was able to pump out at least one tether for each damage phase, and quite often one during the add spawn waves too. As an aside, I believe most boss health is usually removed with either a special or heavy weapon (while ammo lasts, including the ammo box most strikes contain before final boss) so unless you have a stellar sniper and heavy weapon set, you might want to focus on those slots for your exotics instead.

I've tried it a couple of times for the kings fall raid and while it was nice not having to reload, whenever we wiped and I could check my dps, dps was disappointingly low. Ntte is certainly a nice weapon, but it really shines in strikes, not raids.

It's not really a raid weapon, but it does very solid and all other PVE scenarios, and is a fantastically underrated Crucible choice. I like to take on a two or three of my clanmates solo, and anytime I whipthat gun out they all start to cry.

It's strong in PVP if you string the critical hits.

It could use a buff, that said, it is fun to use

NTTE melts face with the small arms modifier (assuming no arc burn). I don't ever use it otherwise. I'm not big on pulse rifles in PvE.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Swiftlock: 12/14/2016 6:31:46 AMIf you're concerned about slaying bosses, a Black Spindle or a Sleeper Simulant would be a much better use of your exotic slot for raids. ( Unless you're fighting Aksis, in which Dark-Drinker is the clear winner. ) As for NTTE. Yeah, you CAN use it in PvE for dealing some extra sustained damage to bosses when you're out of sniper ammo, but it's more of a gun for using on strikes rather than endgame content. I would not advise using it in PvP as the sights are too awkward and cluttered for precision shooting while everyone is trying to melt your face off in 1 second with Clever Dragons.
