Explain the Eötvös effect.

Ok, fine. For those of you who don't know,
[quote]The Eötvös effect is the change in perceived gravitational force caused by the change in centrifugal acceleration resulting from eastbound or westbound velocity.[/quote]
Basically, this proves the earth is spherical, because gravity is percieved to change due to your orientation.
