Hand cannons have become to inconsistent to use in competitive play and are often forgotten. I think that bloom( and the range nerf) causes this. I know that we've all experienced this but I've never seen anyone speak out against it. There are definitely bigger problems in destiny but I think this will bring us one step closer to a more balanced crucible.

1 AntwortenYes Bungo, please

4 AntwortenI also notice that bloom is on sidearms as well... and it's quite frustrating trying to predict so you can be pin point accurate. I'm already aware with ghost bullets but man on sidearms it's seems you have to be up and personal that way all your ammo counts.

Buff bloom

I can understand damage drop off restricting a weapon to a specific range, but having the iron sights basically lie to you if you attempt ti take advantage of the fire rate is unacceptable.

"Of off" Lol

I play sweats and I constantly watch streamers ("top players") and I usually see hand cannons. I think bloom needs to be tweaked but they aren't dead.

Bearbeitet von Length Wit Some Girth: 12/3/2016 4:10:39 PMPlayed my first game of sweats yesterday and all I saw were handcannons. People claim that bloom needs removed but I see others constantly mapping people with eyasluna/palindrome. If anything, bloom needs reduced. Not removed. I'm not sure if people actually take time to understand why these changes were made to handcannons, instead just want only what's in their best interest. THE GAME DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU

11 AntwortenIt's been discussed a lot, actually, and there are a lot of misconceptions on the idea. 'Bloom' isn't the culprit here, that will only affect you if you are already shooting faster than you reliably aim (and I don't want to see links to the unscientific 'testing' done by streamers). We all know to aim and shoot at a reasonable rate. The issue is that 'range' isn't just the effective range of the gun, but rather a super-stat. Basically, this means it is a visible number made up of a bunch of sub-stat numbers, one of which is Accuracy. On most guns, this number isn't a big factor. They have enough range, or the bullet spread is such that it's going to function fairly well. However on a hand cannon, accuracy is factored based on a modified range scale, which is unique to them; this also points out that 60 range on a scout is not the same as 60 range on a hand cannon. In a nutshell, the base accuracy value of a hand cannon is lower per point of range than on any other gun. What this means is, range is king on these guns. Anything with under 40 range is shards, period, end of list. More is better, but you can't expect consistent shot registration at any range with less than 40. For a truly competitive gun, you want over 50, as close to 60 as you can get. This not only allows you to register crits from a long ways away, but it puts the shot on the dot 99% of the time. Aim assist will help correct things a tiny bit, so Hidden Hand and TrueSight IS are a benefit. In summary, the guns work fine -if- you have between 45 and 65 range. if you don't, you might have to scrap the gun and look for one with a longer reach. It sucks, but at least we can still get them usable with the right perks.

18 AntwortenGuys, hand cannons feel really good now. I was on the "no more bloom!" "No more ghost bullets" train for a while... Despite all that, hand cannons feel really good. Atleast palindrome archetype does. I can pretty consistently triple tap guardians with Palindrome, eyesluna, Perils finnala... Even the nerfed-to-death TLW feels good, within range. As long as you stay in the medium range, can land shots and stay mobile you can compete head to head with anything.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von RPColten: 12/2/2016 7:45:14 AMUse the hand-cannon within its intended range, and bloom won't factor in at all. Use it at or beyond its intended range and it will factor in. You can take bloom off yourself, you just need to think of it less of a scout-rifle and more of an auto-rifle.
-
Bloom will never go away. It's called weapon accuracy, all weapons have it, Lear to deal with it, hand cannons aren't goddamn scout rifles. If you're upset with bloom, maybe you should consider a scout rifle.

Bearbeitet von WhitEWatchEs: 12/2/2016 7:33:44 AMIn sweats, tourneys, and trials, handcannons are some of the most used weapons. I really don't see your argument. There are videos on YouTube showing handcannons in their intended range landing all their shots. If the weapon is used properly you'll see very little problems. I use them all the time and do just fine.

5 AntwortenI got an Ill Will that has rangefinder and some other range perks (I haven't logged in in a few days). It has more range than Hawkmoon, the Palindrome, most Eyasluna's that I've come across, and I still get phantom bullets. It's less frequent, but it happens. And honestly, the reduction of their range, rather than finding the root of the problem, and the addition of bloom seem like bandages on an open wound. They cover up the problem without really fixing it. Hand cannons should be accurate in close to medium range. They should not be accurate at the distances they were in year one. But when in their optimal range they should be effective. And they are not. And that is Bungie's fault for not getting to the root of the problem and adjusting hand cannons one by one; instead they laid down a blanket nerf that effectively removed a class of weapons from contention. Why? To me it was because they were tired of seeing hand cannons and that's not the way to balance a game.

4 AntwortenBloom, itself, isn't the problem. It's the horrible initial accuracy that bloom then expands upon. They don't have to remove bloom, but they SHOULD at the very damn least make it so that for the ENTIRETY of it's effective range (34 meters at absolute most) it should be accurate. However, with the current severe damage falloff, even if the guns were perfectly accurate it wouldn't make them the go to weapons. At 44 meters, you lose about 25% of your damage. Max Pulse rifle range, depending on perks/stats, ranges from about 40 to 70 meters. Max Scout rifles range from about 70 to 120 meters. At 25% loss, it requires 3 consecutive headshots to kill a target (if they have 6 or less armor), you will have virtually no aim assist, and you'll be having to deal with enemy flinch throwing you off. So despite the nay sayers "they'll dominate at all ranges!" So no. Without bloom, even firing into pulse rifle's max range puts you at a notable disadvantage. Firing at scout rifles against a scout? Your opponent would have to be thumbless to lose. However, I'm not for the removal of bloom. Why? Because Last Word will basically return to power, to it's thrown as the PvP primary King, even with the falloff. The exotic hand cannons are essentially the exclusive reason why Hand Cannons got their class wide nerfs to begin with. I'd be fine with it if it was like pulses and scouts. Where it only -blam!-s with your aim WELL outside the weapons effective range (not while it's inside, like how it works now). But the current damage falloff more than keeps them in check. LW is going to need an accuracy penalty to keep it in check if the accuracy of cannons get fixed.

4 AntwortenHow is Bungie supposed to buff hand cannons when they're dominating top tier play and are already used by a lot of the pro players?
-
1 AntwortenNo, get some skill. Why does everyone wants things to be so easy?

yep bloom is the reason why we see all of those palindrome's everywhere we go in crucible.
