It's a very corrupt and perverted world we live in. If a murderer like Castro is mourned and honoured by so many it really makes you wonder if the people around you aren't twisted and evil too. It really is amazing how much people will give into their own depravity if you let them.

13 AntwortenHe was a terrible person, to be sure, but he was still a person. Anyone's death is a tragedy; at least to me. Even if Donald Trump, a man whom I hate considerably, died, I would be disturbed by it. Death, in my eyes, is unbiased. When someone dies, regardless of the person, it always hurts me. I could never be happy about someone's death, even if I hated that person with the fiery passion of a thousand suns.

15 AntwortenRemind me to post "omfg the right is [doing thing]" the next time literally any conservative does something. Because generalizing entire sides of politics is totally a good idea. You're not even generalizing Democrats or any other philosophy, you're just say "the left" as in "literally anyone left of you" That's -blam!-ing stupid.
-
Change the title to "Honoring Fidel Castro" instead of Mourning, because too many people are missing the point.
-
That seems like a really broad statement.

They probably just like that he was anti-imperialist and at least tried to implement socialist ideals and stand up to the US's capitalist addiction (which isn't necessarily a problem, it's just a little too biased.) Sure he did some bad things and likely failed at making everyone happy and healthy, but I'm sure he tried to make his country better, even if some of his methods were bad. While I do not think he should be praised, he should be remembered for his actions and policies, both good and bad, and hopefully the nations of the world can learn from both his successes and failures the same way we learn form the successes and failures of the Ancient Greek and Romans.
Also, while Donald Trump is definitely much more right-wing, he is arguably just as many good and bad things going for and against him. I'm not saying he's a completely bad guy, but he may do some things against natural human rights.
Obama Statement
Statement by the President on the Passing of Fidel Castro At this time of Fidel Castro’s passing, we extend a hand of friendship to the Cuban people. We know that this moment fills Cubans - in Cuba and in the United States - with powerful emotions, recalling the countless ways in which Fidel Castro altered the course of individual lives, families, and of the Cuban nation. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him. For nearly six decades, the relationship between the United States and Cuba was marked by discord and profound political disagreements. During my presidency, we have worked hard to put the past behind us, pursuing a future in which the relationship between our two countries is defined not by our differences but by the many things that we share as neighbors and friends - bonds of family, culture, commerce, and common humanity. This engagement includes the contributions of Cuban Americans, who have done so much for our country and who care deeply about their loved ones in Cuba. Today, we offer condolences to Fidel Castro's family, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Cuban people. In the days ahead, they will recall the past and also look to the future. As they do, the Cuban people must know that they have a friend and partner in the United States of America.
Jimmy Carter response
Rosalynn and I share our sympathies with the Castro family and the Cuban people on the death of Fidel Castro. We remember fondly our visits with him in Cuba and his love of his country. We wish the Cuban citizens peace and prosperity in the years ahead. Over more than half a century, he played an outsized role in their lives, and he influenced the direction of regional, even global affairs. As our two countries continue to move forward on the process of normalization -- restoring the economic, diplomatic and cultural ties severed by a troubled past -- we do so in a spirit of friendship and with an earnest desire not to ignore history but to write a new and better future for our two peoples. The United States reaffirms its support for deepening our engagement with the Cuban people now and in coming years.
Nancy Pelosi
“The death of Fidel Castro marks the end of an era for Cuba and the Cuban people. After decades under Fidel’s doctrine of oppression and antagonism, there is hope that a new path for Cuba is opening. “In recent years, we have seen both the opportunity and the responsibility to break free of the past and build new bonds of friendship. With the bold leadership of President Obama, the U.S. and Cuba have already taken historic steps toward a new, forward-looking relationship between our peoples. We are hopeful this progress will continue under the new Administration. “Still, we meet this day with clear eyes. Generations of Cuban political prisoners, democracy activists and families suffered under Fidel Castro’s rule. In their name, we will continue to press the Cuban regime to embrace the political, social, and economic dreams of the Cuban people.”
Reverend Jesse Jackson https://mobile.twitter.com/RevJJackson/status/802873065076117504 https://mobile.twitter.com/RevJJackson/status/803201337638797312 Amongst several other tweets of actual praise. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
“It is with deep sorrow that I learned today of the death of Cuba’s longest serving President. “Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation. “While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for “el Comandante”. “I know my father was very proud to call him a friend and I had the opportunity to meet Fidel when my father passed away. It was also a real honour to meet his three sons and his brother President Raúl Castro during my recent visit to Cuba. “On behalf of all Canadians, Sophie and I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and many, many supporters of Mr. Castro. We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader.”
3 AntwortenShould've seen the articles on NBC. It's almost like they admired the guy
-
6 AntwortenCastro was cool in Black Ops.
-
Now the left under my post is defending Hitler, Castro and denying that Trudeau and Obama were certainly positive towards Castro and saddened at their death Why are these people so bad at keeping a narrative
-
34 AntwortenThe right mourned Hitler's death. Wow, this is fun!

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von SuperStormDroid: 11/28/2016 6:30:58 PMI'm sure it's just a minority that is mourning him. In my opinion, that's one less dictator in the world. With Trump entering office this January, he better do something about Assad. The sooner he is taken out (preferably with a nuke to prevent a power vacuum), the sooner Islam can have a chance for a Reformation.

2 AntwortenI've seen it myself, but let's at least get one example.

Not me. I'm glad he's dead.

7 AntwortenYou say "the left" as if it's every liberal. It's not. Just some weird, misguided people who are probably too young to understand what Castro did while in power. or just some edgy internet kids. I'm on "the left" and I'm glad his time on earth has finally ended.

8 AntwortenWho is that? What did he do?
