It is a flag that represents a group of American citizens who felt this country was headed in the wrong direction in many ways. The Union used the slavery issue to get black men & women on their side. There were actually many Southerners who were against slavery & smuggled slaves into free states. The Confederate flag was a symbol of a group of people who were rebelling & also paid homage to the Stars & Stripes they loved. Are there morons that wave the flag & are racist? Yes, just like there are morons who blame that flag for racism & are racist anyways. A lot of people like the Confederate flag just because it looks cool (especially on a 1969 Dodge Charger) & some people like it because it is a part of their heritage and yes, some of those people just happen to be black. They used to teach all this stuff in school, do they not anymore? If not, you have the most powerful educational tool in the world in the palm of your hand, do some deep research & do not fall victim to mainstream hype. Edit: I read my post & I want to clarify that I am not calling anyone a moron, I am using it in a general way to describe racists. Also, I got the joke & it is funny, lol.
