I don't even own Titanfall 2, but reading the specific and honest answers in this update I'm going to pick this game up. I'm impressed, maybe Bungie could read and take notice how things SHOULD be done. If only....
Edit 1: some great feedback on a simple post. Maybe if this gets some more traction it will garner some notice from the powers that be and start an actual constructive dialogue
Edit 2: damn this little post blew up. Reading the constructive feedback in the posts below it looks like a lot of the community would like to have improved communication with Bungie
"Your move"
Why no reply from Bungie??? (Sad face)
Edit of edit 3: damn this thing is still going??? Love it!!! Perhaps Bungie will notice a post that's been at the top of the trending page for a day ;-)
Edit 4: obligatory this is crazy that this thread is still on top of front page for over a day.
Anyway just a PSA: the best deal I have found is up now on Bestbuy for $29.99 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/titanfall-2-xbox-one/5261500.p?skuId=5261500
Edit of edit 5: Good lord--- almost broke the 700 reply barrier. Wow. Thanks to everyone for the great discussion!!! Here's to trending for three days.
Edit 6: broke 700 replies. ZERO from Bungie. Disappointing. Devs come here and all I see is:
Returning to orbit in 5...4...3...2...1...

3 AntwortenSo, Bungie gets crapped on because of microtransactions... Micros are announced for TF2, and everyone is ok with that? Sounds like the typical community...
-
6 AntwortenComparing a game that just came out to a game thats over 2 years old. Youre a special kind of stupid arent you?
-
Titanfall 2 is amazingly balanced (except for tone but whatever)
-
3 AntwortenLooks like they were just trying to sweeten their players because they were introducing micro transactions, all seemed a bit sly to me.

19 AntwortenDivision has a twitch stream in which they go over the state of the game. They just sit there and talk to people about what they're doing and where they see room for improvement etc. Granted, they needed to do it because of the state of their game.....but it's nice. And now that people are playing it again they've kept up with it and made it interactive and interesting. You know, kind of like talking to actual humans?! I've said it a hundred times since I started reading about Destiny and seeing/hearing how Bungie speaks to people: Speak to us as if we were adult customers playing your game. We are just people who like games and happen to like the graphics and controllability of Destiny a lot. Take off the smug corporate secret squirrel face. It's annoying as shit.

4 AntwortenI agree with everything that titan fall is doing, however destiny can never have free dlcs and keep making money, titan fall does have free dlcs but they are usually a map or two.
-
13 AntwortenI quit Destiny for titanfall. Today i wanted to come back to Destiny. Just can't. Buy tf2 asap, you won't regret it.
-
5 AntwortenIt's a shame that that game isn't Titanfall anymore. I was so ridiculously excited. :(
-
4 AntwortenFirst let’s look at the big picture and make a crucial point about our DLC vision crystal clear: All maps, modes, weapons —anything that has effect on gameplay— will be free for all players that bought Titanfall 2. We believe that in order to maintain a healthy community we shouldn’t be segmenting players behind paywalls for these things. Bungie should adopt this philosophy. Money grabbing whores.
-
1 AntwortenThat feels more like a patch... besides, I wish we had more like that and less MOTW idiots dancing, as a content.
-
1 AntwortenTitanfall just came out so of corse their update sounds amazing let's see in 3 years what their update looks like if it's the same
-
4 AntwortenI'll play Devils advocate here. The update titan fall put up is great, but why? The major consensus I see from comments is free dlc, because who doesn't love the word free. Free blinds everyone period. they say well why can't destiny dlcs be free? Well let's look at a titan fall dlc. Like 3 to 5 multiplayer maps and new guns? Rise of iron added 3 (or 4 for ps players) multiplayer maps, 50ish guns, one strike, two "remastered" strikes, a raid, new quests, 5 missions, one new game mode, private matches, a new social space, and a level increase. See the difference, oh wait all you care about is free so you'll wave a blind eye to almost 4x the content. Are we sure their the greedy ones? Granted this lasted about 2 months, but that is not the topic for debate.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Zero the Remnant: 11/24/2016 6:16:59 PMI applaud Respawn on their transparency. Honestly, I was jarred when I returned to Destiny to see Sterling Treasures and the RNG in them. Bungie added cosmetic items. Cool. But having a "chance" at them ruffled my feathers. In every other game I have played with Microtransactions items have worked like this: 1. Every item has a set price. 2. You choose the "specific" item you need/want. 3. You buy it. 4. Loot Boxes/RNG Crates contained misc items that were not cosmetic. (Harvesting resources, exp boosters, etc.) However they guaranteed 1 specific item/item of a specific rarity as well. 5. Items with stats...you got to customize/pick. (To put in Destiny Terms: - Spektar Vest (you select it) - Then like Armsday Orders you choose the version you want. - Pay for it. Whammo. Its yours. Now lvl it up/upgrade it so you can use it.) 6. Items with stats are reroll able. To jusify the RMT spent they allowed those items to be rerolled for ingame currencies. That would have been much nicer imo. Hopefully in Destiny 2 Bungie will rely on RNG significantly less. There is nothing wrong with static rolls. Games with PVP often require it. Borderlands (which this game rips off) didn't do a True PVP mode because of this very fact. Can't balance PVP off thousands of rolls (hence thousands of very different items).

1 AntwortenThis makes me even more motivated to stop playing destiny.

1 AntwortenBumping for Bungie to make Destiny great.

TF2 will absolutely be my next purchase. Played the Campaign through a trial of Gamefly after hearing good things and it was phenomenal. Can't wait.
-
The thing that amazes me most about it is that TF2 has such a small player base compared to destiny (and probably other games), but they still make their expansions free. Destiny on the other hand, has moderately large player base, but still try and milk us. Really let's you know how other companies treat their players :/

1 Antworten
In addition to the free stuff, we will be opening a store in game with the launch of DLC #1 that will allow you to purchase new skins, camo and Prime Titans if you want for a modest price. We will have no in-game currency exchange. No locked loot boxes, crafting shards or pay-to-win weaponry. No RNG. If you see something you like, you buy it and that’s it. These in no way effect stats and are purely cosmetic.
I like this dev already.

6 AntwortenThe best part about Titanfall 2 is that there's none of that season pass crap! All future updates and maps are completely free!
-
Your post, and their update, inspired me to view a few Titanfall 2 videos. I liked what I saw, and bought it. Seems like a great game to play during this Destiny slowdown period.
-
1 AntwortenDid anything change in this game. Rise of Iron got boring after a month or two as expected but nothing new followed up. I wish Bungie would be more like Blizzard.
-
Titanfall 2 is really the game Titanfall 1 shouldve been. Meanwhile destiny gets surprisingly worse each dlc.
-
Yeah that's amazing
-
Free DLCs? I'm buying Titanfall 2 this weekend.
