Saying "if you're empowered DO NOT take cannons" is the WORST strat for aksis. It causes confusion when there's a double empowerment and fights over cannons
Just DESIGNATE A CANNON RUNNER on each side. Whoever is the designated cannon runner is also the one that rotates in the event of a double empowerment. This guarantees a thrower on every side and eliminates any confusion over who is rotating / running cannon every phase.
It doesn't matter if you're empowered or not you take the cannon if you're a designated cannon guy. If you're both empowered you kill the captain grab the cannon and rotate. It's simple. It's so much easier to have everyone in position like this. You can shoot servitors from across the map; you don't need to be 5 feet from them to shoot them.
ALSO CHARGE THE SHOTS FOR 3 SECONDS...YOU CANT KILL THEM BY SPAMMING THE CANNON.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/218888845/0/0 Can I get some bumps to help keep this thread from being buried? It's a post offering raid help (I call it raid school but it's basically a Sherpa post) Would greatly appreciate it!

This is definitely the best strategy. I would only add that once empowerment happens, only empowered people should speak. Not hearing a call out due to excessive shatter can really mess things up.

1 AntwortenLove this strat. Lets you put all the coordination on 3 stronger players. Throwers stay put no matter what and the cannon guys are the only moving pieces.

1 Antworten85 Completions. You are a Sherpa Legend. WotM is so easy and boring I only do it to help out friends and hopefully get my 17th Ether Nova. I really want that 17th......

You are a genie, a god of knowledge, a true intellectual. We didn't know this before you day of enlightening you have graced us with.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von UndeadGrizzly: 11/22/2016 9:14:46 PMEmpowered leaves the cannon alone is such a simple strategy to me, I don't understand why people struggle with it lol. Not to knock the preferred strategy here as that's obviously the popular one, but it baffles me that I still see people confused and panicked while following the former strategy. Double empowered? Go to the side that needs you and throw bombs, your replacement gets the cannon. No empowered on your side? Go to the side that needs you if you're designated to switch and pickup their cannon, leave yours for your buddy. Not that I've had major success following that strategy as people always end up lost somehow, but it seems very simple to me after a little bit of experience, and certainly guarantees proper positioning.
-
Agreed I never understood the logic behind having only the non empowered person pick up the Cannon. All it does is add more variables that could go wrong. I also hate it when people switch before the captains are killed. You have plenty of time to get to your spot if you're empowered. Switching early just screws things up.
-
I like this way better. But I don't think it matters as long as everybody is on the same page. Usually shit breaks down when the double empowered happens tho. Just easier if the cannon guy is designated to leave.
-
Designated Cannon holders. (if your moving across the map to handel that oh so elusive servitor, then your not grabbing a cannon) Designated throwers. Throw your first two bombs and hold that third! Empowerment in position? Chuck that shit. Slam, slam, slam (dps of course) Rinse and repeat .
-
I didn't know any other way...except one random yelled at me for having the cannon and being empowered...until I slammed then he was quiet
-
2 AntwortenSince I got my Raze Lighter the raid has become so easy. When the empowerment happens, I always go smoke invis then just RL the captain to death. I'm equally as good throwing bombs/using a cannon but I prefer throwing because it's like basketball. "He shoots... *makes swish sound* AND SCORES"
-
This is why I stopped playing Destiny. Everyone wants to do designated cannons then the cannon person isn't on the side needed.
-
4 AntwortenOr drop the cannons in center and have 1 or 2 people use them as you emplace empowered.
-
Dude why would you play this easy boring raid 85 times. The amount of boredom it would have to take to play it 85 times already I can't imagine.
-
Depends on the teams.
-
6 or half dozen on raid strategy it's easily completed with different strats for who gets cannons. Just go with what the team is most comfy with
-
This strat imo is bang on, how I was taught as you say keeps confusion to a minimum
-
1 AntwortenAgreed 100%. Any time a team has trouble switching I just tell them have one person with a cannon and one person throwing the whole time. Then save the last bomb while we take positions. The part about the 3 seconds is wrong though. You can charge for about 1 second and detonate.
-
People who say the empowered HAVE to throw usually tend to be awful at the raid. So long as you move quickly, and wait to throw the last bomb until everyone is in position you're golden.
-
Tried it another way with a team that insisted their way was better last week. No designated switcher, whoever doesnt switch grabs canon, when 0 empowered one has to switch to cover the double empowered side, leaving the canon in place at his original spot and picking up the empowered's canon. At least that's what I remember of it. Need I say we didn't beat him... This fight isn't hard, to quote Bill Bililcheck everyone needs to just do their job. Period. Well understood roles with minimal communication needed make it relatively easy. Complicated roles make it a frustrating experience. OP's method is tried and true and makes it as simple as possible.
-
1 AntwortenWe run a variation: Designated switchers at each spot, i.e. If double empowered, or no empowered. Otherwise, empowered throw bombs.
-
yup, agreed that empowered always throws is bad strat for LFG groups. Its adds another moving part to the equation and always, always fails. The set jobs strat always completes the raid
-
3 AntwortenOk hands off for the completions. Now how the blam do u find the time to do so many raids. I can barely squeeze 3 a week. ;-(

No knight strategy is better.
