Truth be told I'm not against SBMM system but ...
Do you try to force players into a 50% win/loss ratio?
Nope. As we’ve stated, your personal performance is a factor in the Guardians you end up confronting in battle, but we do nothing to artificially influence win streaks or alter individual player statistics
Ummmm 😒
Yea, I'm a bit skeptical
RNGesus blesses you with a competent team that doesn't try to cap three points...
BREAK IT UP
RnGesus curses you with suicidal shotgun warriors that took an oath to not touch a primary...
BREAK IT UP
I seriously can't think of any reason that mechanic exists OTHER than to try to artificially manipulate your win/loss
It doesn't speed up matchmaking
It's not finding a better connection
It is ONLY trying to make the matches closer
And even then it screws that up
I've had it kick me from a team, put me in a match that's in the process of getting mercy ruled, lose, break that team up, place me in another match that's almost over, lose, break that up...
How is that helpful to anyone?
I'm calling BS on Bungie's newest explanation.
Breaking up teams is definitely placing SBMM over all other factors.
Like I said, I'm not against SBMM in general.
Just don't fart in the room and blame it on the dog. I can feel the vibration through the couch for Christ sake.
EDIT: And for further readings of Shenanigans...

5 AntwortenGo on 10 game losing streak. Teams aren't broken up. Win 1 match. Teams get broken up. Back to 10 losses in a row...
-
I hate being broken up from a group that gels together. It's actually quite a dick move to do.

Yes this is actactly what I just said. They are artificially forcing us into a losing game. Did Bungie completely forget about that whole thing? That has to go. Don't penalize me for winning a match. If I won a match, I don't automatically need to be put with people who have not showered in 10 hours and have been playing Crucible like it is their job. Thx

1 AntwortenI've never fully understood this mechanic either. If their goal is to create evenly matched teams then why would they throw out all of the data they've just collected during the last match, to roll the dice again. If there was just a complete blow-out, you don't need to throw everyone back to RNG-esus and hope that it works out for them. You now have solid data on how these players will match against one another. Why not just reshuffle the teams? Rank the players by Score, K/D, whatever and place them on opposing teams to even them out a bit. You didn't get the skill level wrong, you just shuffled the teams incorrectly. So fix it and let us give it another whack. This mechanic also makes no sense in the context of their explanation of matchmaking. If connection is prioritized above all else, then why would you take a group of players who may have all had great connections to each other, and completely ignore this fact only to reshuffle them based on what can only be described as win/loss ratio and skill based reasons? The whole mechanic is completely contradictory to their statements about connection being most important above all else.

1 AntwortenI think you're being way too kind of when you say skeptical. I think they're flat-out lying. For so many of us to be experiencing the same thing....aint no coincidence.

I find one solid team, and get in one solid game with a solid opposition team. And FOR THE NEXT 20 MATCHES I GET SHOTGUN WARRIORS THAT JUST CANT SHOTGUN. AND THE OTHER TEAM IN TRUE VANGUARD, TRIPLEWRECK, KJHOVEY, MTASHED, NKUCH, GRENADER JAKE. WHYYYYYYYYYY! Why do I get imbeciles on my team?
-
I could tell they were going to lie when they said the system had to support MILLIONS of players. Like, come on...

Started crucible one night for the Hunter exotic cloak from New Monarchy. Won 9 in a row, lost one then won the last. Never had a better win streak then that one.

You just had an awsome game with this team. So were breaking it up to put you into a more frustrating game. Or. Your team won and the game was close. We're gonna put you with a team that dosn't collect crests. Or even. You played horribly with this team so have another 17 games with them until you feel like pegging your controller though the t.v screen.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von GrundleBeans: 11/18/2016 11:16:23 PMWell it's true, it's not manipulation of matches. What you get when you put people of like skills together, they naturally even out around 50% wins/losses. Two equal skilled people will trade back and forth and rarely will one dominate the other. That's completely natural and doesn't involve any manipulating to happen. What breaking up matches is for is when one side clearly has a much higher skill and overwhelmingly dominates the other side OR (potentially, not for certain) the match making system finds players with better connections in the same skill range. It's not some kind of nefarious lie.

Oh this!

6 AntwortenIt's a little annoying, but hardly an issue.
Just my opinion.
1 AntwortenAgreed. Why in the world do I still play this freaking game. Am I brain washed?

1 AntwortenIn my experience, the majority of the time that a match is lopsided and results in a breakup is because the losing team was short-handed, not because there was a skill difference between the teams. And short-handed matches happen way too often. Very rarely, regardless of skill level, can the short-handed team overcome the disadvantage. The algorithm should be changed so that no breakup occurs if a team was short-handed during a match. In addition, the algorithm should be changed so that NO match starts with an odd number of players (which, again, happens too often). For matches in progress in which the total number of players is less than the maximum, e.g. - <12 for 6v6, but both teams have same number of players, new players should be added in pairs - one for each team. Again, I've been in too many matches where game started 4v4, or 5v5, and the game was competitive until new player is joined to one of the teams. Better yet, once the match starts, DO NOT ADD players to the match as long as the match has an even number of players.

This literally happened to me last night, win a game by a large margin, break those teams up, drops me into a 6 man team mercying a team 60-20 the match literally ended before I had boots on the ground.

4 AntwortenI quit Destiny because of their matchmaking and overuse of specials. Plus, the game is over and other games are now on sale for Black Friday (titanfall 2 / overwatch)

7 AntwortenThe way that I see it, when it breaks the team's up after a one sided match, the players on the winning team search for a higher skill base, the players on the losing team search for a lower skill base. This is the way that it feels the game after a break up. If I had won the pre break up match, it's a sweat fest. if I lost, I can play casually and do well. SBMM at it's finest!
-
I like going into a match 4v4 then about to get mercied and realize it's 6v4
-
And dont forget the times when "we're breaking up these teams" and then after 3/4 minutes you end up matchmade with 8/9 of the peeps from the last game

Problem is they frequently create mismatches in the first place. Obviously, once one has occurred, the game seeks to rectify it, but since it sometimes has trouble with the matchmaking part, your situation may not improve.
