DISCLAIMER: THIS IS MY OPINION: Read the whole post and THEN tell me what you think :)
Just read the weekly update and my god it is embarrassing. I feel like i am being patronised by the people that sort out matchmaking and the crucible. When we say "I want to chill with my friends" you replied with "Well play private matches"!!!! What?!?! Well what if I want to chill by myself and I don't have friends online? "Well that's your fault for not having many friends?" Are you going to tell me that next? The whole problem is this element of skill based matchmaking. Having to put us in a pool of players that have equal skill makes the game very sweaty. Not to mention that not having PURE connection based matchmaking ruins any sort of consistency of certain weapons such as Hand Cannons, Auto rifles, and Shotguns in regards to hit detection. When we say we want to go into control with our friends, it means we don't want to have to try like it is a million dollar tournament to even have a chance. FIX THIS
Ok so reading through some of these comments has made me realise that I wasn't clear enough. So my solution is That here should be 2 different playlists.
1. A ranked playlist where if we want to compete in a focused environment so we can hone our skills for the better. This playlist offers rewards for doing well and offers the best chances for good rolls on weapons.
2. A casual playlist where if we want to chill and not have to try every game. This would have the current reward system that we have in place now.
I do understand that people want to improve and I am right behind you on that. But if we want to compete in a focused environment the we should be able to and not sweat like it is a $1000000 tournament. Hopefully this made my statement more clear. I love this game and I want it to be better and I have loads of respect for Bungie but they need to get this game right, so D2/3/4 and beyond can succeed.
PS: Anyone that who wants to see if im a noob. Get 2 or 3 friends and message vsoiitude on xbox and I WILL TRY and get 2 or 3 of my friends and we'll play a series. This is not to boost my ego. This is to prove i have some sort of weight backing my answer and people saying im a noob

9 AntwortenCrucible should never be a place to chill. If you want to chill then go Patrol somewhere.
-
That comment was funny when I first read it. Then my face slowly changed as the salt consumed me and the PvP triggers went off XD

3 AntwortenI totally agree with you on this. And for the people who say oh your gonna get the noobs slaughtered in cbmm how many times have you played control, clash, rift, skirmish, etc and played people like wishyouluckk, realkraftyy, luminosity, murdaro, you get the point. Last time ive played a youtuber or streamer was a couple of months after i got the game arpund christmas time in 2015 and it was in trials against badassgaming. He is a great player dont get me wrong, but the other players are pretty much considered the best of the best in cruicible.

1 AntwortenIt's not a joke. It's actually pretty reasonable compared to much of their responses. "Good on you" "Try strikes?" "We actually meant to buff them by 0.04%"
-
17 Antwortenits not a joke. crucible drops endgame level gear. it should be hard. very hard. fun can be had in private matches. there are thousands of posts here and on reditt and lfg sites setting up private matches all the time.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Rappo000: 11/19/2016 9:01:17 AMYeah. SBMM is a joke. That turd needs to be flush down the toilet. But these dinosaurs at bungie are to busy making new masks for whales to spend $100 on

2 AntwortenGrow up you little baby

11 AntwortenCrucible is "competitive" I'm guessing the meaning of that word escapes you.
-
6 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ghostmime: 11/19/2016 9:15:52 PMI'm guessing by 'casual playlist' you mean cbmm, which would only be guaranteed casual for a small number of players. Other players would still have a chance of getting either slaughtered or having a very serious game. Note that I'm pro cbmm, because I'd rather lose to a good player than lag, but the point still stands.
-
2 AntwortenI'm gonna be honest, I read up to the part where you were talking about not having friends online. This is where everything stops making sense to me and I realize that I wasted precious time giving your post a chance. Thanks

3 AntwortenPrivate matches are used for competetive crucible (Game Battles etc). The other playlists should be entirely connection based.
-
2 AntwortenHold on, you are complaining about being matched with players of similar skill? You must be losing games or your KD. Otherwise you wouldn't complain. Last time I checked, PvP modes are competitive. Makes sense to compete with similar players. Sweaty? You mean you can't pick off easy targets and need to actually try? Haha 👍

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ness: 11/19/2016 8:47:21 PMWhy do so many people here advocate SBMM? It doesn't make any logical sense to me why anyone would enjoy it at all. It causes problems for everyone, but I'm sure not everyone sees it. It causes lag because in order to find someone of your skill level, you might have to play someone from another country. I only see SBMM as a method of shielding newer players so that they don't want to quit the game. Even then, I'm sure newer players wouldn't be stomped on all the time by top 1% players because the top 1% only make up...well, 1% of the community. Granted they still play more than the average player, but I don't see how 1% of the community can ruin it for the other 99%.

11 AntwortenAgainst SBMM= I want to crush noobs. Do us all a favor: fuk off and go play something else.
-
5 AntwortenI just think honestly skill based matchig making is fine and good for a game otherwise its just boring. The issue is if they have SBMM on a network that doesnt have dedicated servers, connection goes down the drain and affects game play which is the main issue in my opinion. Stop whining about losing matches. Practice and get better. Bungie has cant make this game easy for everyone. Those who are good deserve to win more. If you want to complain about something complain about connections affecting games which may tip the favour for one team. That makes things unfair. Sbmm is fair and should be in a game. You wont improve in anything without things being challenging. Stop being a child.
-
2 AntwortenWhat's wrong with that? You want to chill with your friends why not play a private match it's better than crying on the forums
-
13 AntwortenThe appropriate time to patronize people is when they are acting like children... Bungie's response seemed correct under the circumstances.
-
1 AntwortenDestiny has a run its course. No changes are forthcoming. Your intent is honorable but unfortunately we will have to wait until D2 to see if any improvements have been made.
-
I have so many friends left playing destiny. I ran around chilling solo in private matches for a good 30 minutes last night. Most fair crucible ever.....

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Dooodley: 11/20/2016 4:30:12 PMLet's break down this whole debate. 1. You are comparing the Y3 playerbase to that of Y1 Is it possible, plausible even, that the PvP playerbase is more condensed now and has more educated players? Not necessarily more skilled players, in terms of aim and awareness, but much more in the loop of what the path of least resistance is. I would personally say that this is a fair assumption. 2. The specials meta and the maps A meta revolving around special weapons - and foremost shotties - make the game much more unforgiving. Now take into account that the vast majority of maps make it incredibly easy for those playing the meta to get the work done. Hence, with #1 and #2 we've entirely altered the PvP landscape from Y1. We have a higher player percentage with knowledge of what weapons to pick and those weapons just so happen to be the easiest ones to use on the current maps. 3. The SBMM discussion has completely gone off the tracks I feel like a lot of players - perhaps even the majority - are pointing their fingers in the wrong direction. Instead of saying that the netcode in this game probably is the worst in modern gaming - and certainly for a AAA title, even if you just compare it to other P2P titles - they pin it on SBMM. Yes, a game with a netcode like the one in Destiny will never be able to utilize SBMM but SBMM is not the issue here. You have a bad expereince because the game can't handle P2P properly. 4. Very few in this game understand what SBMM is There are those of you who claim that every match is "sweaty" and to you I'd like to say; You have no freaking idea what SBMM. First of all, the matches in this game are never sweaty. Sweaty implies that you constantly have to be on your toes to pull out a win. Have you seen the outcome of the vast majority of matches in this game? Yes, completely lopsided. That's as far from sweaty as it possibly can get. The outcomes of matches are pretty much determined the second the lobby is split up into teams. That's the complete opposite of SBMM. Infact, that is what CBMM is - which just further establishes that you don't know wtf you are talking about. Lopsided matches is what you get when ´SBMM isnt in play. If this game actually was able to match based on skill you'd have "sweaty" close matches where you actually had an input on the outcome. In destiny you can solo 10K points in control and still lose - because the people you play with are so below your own and the opponents skill that you literally cannot win. And sometimes it's the complete opposite and you steamroll the other team. In SBMM you'd have team mates much closer to your own skill so if you had 10K points you'd be the factor that gave you the win.
-
It's typical of bungie to put the blame and problems on the player base instead of themselves. Maybe if they acknowledged that they're in the wrong some-if not most-of the time, the community wouldn't have to have such a distrust towards them.
-
I'm mean every boy and girl should have a new bra, occasionally new underwear and a towel ready for between all those sweaty matches. Duh. This is crucible, the no place for mercy thing. If it's summer you just put a whole ice bucket over your head. That's what you do if you want to succeed in destiny pvp. Or you switch to Geico, if you want to safe money on your car insurance. ... Oh wait I'm not at my job... never mind...

11 AntwortenBearbeitet von soundsgood789: 11/19/2016 2:39:01 PMI love all these people saying , I want to be able to chill like in year1 , lol the only reason you were chill in year 1 is cause you probably came over from a game like cod and most of the player base didn't now progressively over the almost three years destiny has been out players have been getting gud that's why almost all the matches are sweaty that's why it doesn't matter if there is a ranked and casual playlist people will always gravitate towards better rewards which means nothing will change so please do us all a favour and get your heads out of each other's assholes cause your starting to sound like spoiled children
-
I see a lot of ppl worried the tryhards will pubstomp in the casual playlist but that would be a small minority. Any self respecting try hard will be playing ranked trust me. Grinding to be the best in ranked.
-
5 AntwortenSo you think ppl will just run around aimlessly in an unranked playlist? Won't happen. There will still be meta's, you will still have better players, fireteams that just want to pub stomp the opposition, and flat out tryhards. It's human nature to want to win. An unranked playlist will solve nothing! But just incase this actually becomes a thing I have plenty of popcorn at the ready for when you come back to the forums complaining that "it doesn't work"!!!
