I'm here with another rant post, after my.... 'successful'... post last time.
Here is the train of thought of the average member who makes these abominations of theories.
https://youtu.be/m1gm1zZWzIg
While this is a joke video and what I call a hyperbole of a reaction to compare lorists to, it's not far off in a scary way. The "lorist" usually has as much evidence as this.
fact vs opinion
Facts are facts, and thats that. Calling something a fact doesn't make it one, and must provide evidence. In this forum sections case, theories need some facts as evidence. And facts need evidence as well. So you have to back up why your evidence is in fact pointing toward our theory, not just randomly providing grimoire cards and telling them to find the answer there. Highlight exactly what you reference and why it's significant.
close mindedness
So, the average member is probably as willing to accept their theory is wrong and someone else is right as much as a party member in politics will suddenly switch their opinions to another party. So, very rare, since any opinions usually turn into a insult fest. This is both the fault of the theorist and the accuser(accuser being the one who says you are wrong). Accusers, don't be asses and just say "ur wrong" or "u idiot u donno anyting". Actually explain your opinion and why you disagree. Even the stupidest theory cannot be false, as there isn't any actual fact. The company who produces the official "lore" has to actually confirm or deny something, and knowing Bungie that will take a while. So there is no wrong, even if we can easily infer that some theories are just aren't going to end up correct.
(even if I made a theory on why Luke Smith is actually Sylok Defiled.... mini theory they are both memes so they are one in the same theory confirmed!)
Synopsis of this section:Educate, don't discriminate.
bai
Not sure if I want to make another one of these... maybe a theory or something. Idk. Depends on reception. Hope you enjoyed this rant from some random person on the Internet, you're welcome for the 5 minutes of life wasted.

24 AntwortenBearbeitet von Angel_Soren: 11/16/2016 1:06:47 AMAs a lorist I feel like you completely miss the whole point of speculation. The fact that when a lorist gives there idea and is met with heavy resistance is the reason why we put our ideas out in the first place. If you're a lorist, theorist, or speculator and you expect people to believe your ideas, then you're a fool who believes he knows the truths in the world. We put out our ideas so they can be criticized and then we take that criticism and form even stronger evidence and revisions to our ideas. If your lore can be so easily dismantled by criticism, then your lore is weak. However, if you can continuously evolve your idea and form answers to the criticism people have about your theories, then your lore may just hold some legitimacy. This is what it means to be a lorist. Lorist aren't suppose to be right, they're suppose to be able to back the things they say. It's our job to educate the close minded sheep.

Your posts annoy me. Fact

4 AntwortenWhy do you keep spamming the lore section with these crappy complaint posts that contain 0 lore? Like, what is your deal?

Fact: There is a complex system of movement at work to design a game that feeds us the basis we would need for lore and within a common playable construct develop our own legend. Lore in a game that lets you have your own ideas for story isn't something you argue about. It's something you need to discuss if you want to share a good tale. This is a way to develop together as a community. I ask, and read, and like, and share, because that guards my light. I protect my in game character by accepting lore that would benefit that body apart from myself. It's both you. Find the story that makes you glow in a way you'd like live either place. THEN: Burn Bright. Don't give up just yet Jcaf. We are here for you.

I usually don't mind. If I know anything, I know that people will think differently, and I'm as different as different can get. I learn not to judge a post, no matter how mediocre it is, and how little evidence it holds. I come here to read, understand, and hear out other people's theories. Even if I don't agree, or it's just 'Efrideet is the Stranger' and 'it only makes sense, think about it', I'll just be like, "Whatever makes you anticipate Destiny's future more. Many theories make me excited for it everyday, man." I know no matter if someone lives under a rock lore wise, and they make a post under the lore tag; this makes them anticipate Destiny 2 even more. On the topic of future lore, this is what really makes me happy: to see the new connections to Destinys' lore, the lost pieces of the puzzle to each of the stories such as Dredgen Yor, the Exo Stranger, the Vault of Glass, and Saint-14. All will be revealed in the future.

I refuse to accept the fact that the traveler is actually a space waffle maker from the future because it smells like vanillaaaaaaaaa! Yes.

2 AntwortenI would just like to state that ALL of my lore posts are good. I actually back them up with evidence when speculating. Sure they might turn out to be wrong in the future but again its just educated speculation

Bearbeitet von FJFSOM656: 11/16/2016 4:30:39 AMLore is like the backbone of a story while speculation is that strange mole thing you may or may not think is a tumor... Ok that was probably a terrible analogy but the point is, speculation can truly only be seen in one perspective at a time, whether it is from a game play stand point, a design standpoint, or a lore standpoint and it has its time and place to shine but at the end of the day, it's just an idea. Hopefully well supported and sound ideas, but ideas none the less I love the lore of games as it helps make guidelines for stories and other ideas to be put in the universe and still be viable. But like any other media, it has multiple sides that can be argued as it is a piece of literature like a novel or poem. People can have different angles they look at it, it doesn't mean they are wrong? Merely looking up at the ceiling from below while you are looking at the floor from above

If otoku (or however you spell it) is correct then any speculation is pointless. A full wipe might just be in store for us, and if it's true it could end bad. There are multiple channels based solely around the current games lore, and the speculations that go with it. While I do wish Bungie would confirm and/or deny our theories, a full wipe is not what I (and most of us lore seekers as a whole) want. However, with the state of the in-game mechanics (SBMM and no dedicated servers) I doubt our inquiries are not even within the top 100 things to do. While I am completely off topic form your post there is no genuine right or wrong response, considering the vanilla lore was vague.

2 Antworten15 likes? I'm honestly confused. I really expected some idiots to respond. This is far less amusing.

Every freaking day someone post about there being a secret mission In the daily, it's so ridiculous.
