So I was in the shower and I had an idea: what if elemental primaries returned to the hard raids and ToO Adept Weapons (and maybe PoE too)? How could that be balanced?
The answer is pretty simple. High tier primary weapons will come pre-equipped with an intrinsic elemental perk. When disassembled, they will yield a 'generator' item of the same element that can be used to make any legendary primary an elemental one. The system would be similar to the ornament system except each generator is single use and locks to the weapon, becoming the intrinsic perk. This process applies to high tier weapons as well, but not exotics. Weapons with elemental generators equipped drop either generators or 'broken generators' when disassembled, depending on how convoluted bungie wants to make the process (broken generators need repairing from a vendor). Using this system, elemental primaries can be brought into the game easily and distributed well.
TL;DR
Elemental primaries drop from high tier sources (HM raid, ToO flawless, lvl 42 PoE). When dismantled, they drop a generator that can be equipped on any legendary primary to make it elemental.

Except that the problem with elemental primaries was that they had elemental damage.

It was dumb that bungie got rid of elemental primaries. I had sh*t luck with VoG (only had one piece of raid gear in year 1) and I never got to do crotas end in year one. So I never really had an elemental primary until the very day right after ttk dropped when I did VoG and got my first atheism epilogue and vex mythoclast. I just want to say, F*CK ALL THE LOUSY PIECES OF SHIT WHO CONSTANTLY KICKED ME FROM FIRETEAMS BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE A GJALLARHORN FOR A THIRD OF YEAR 1 AND HAD LITTLE EXPERIENCE WITH SOME OF THE RAIDS BECAUSE OF IT!!! Total completions of VoG in year 1: 4 with no rewards other than shards Total completions of Crotas end in year 1: 0 with only gauntlets as my first raid reward because I could only solo the thrall labyrinth once.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Beck: 11/15/2016 7:16:26 AMI disagree with the ToO part purely because of the rampant cheating going on in it. I don't play trials but I feel bad the legit skilled players that get shafted because bungie makes it so easy to cheat in this game. I mean really how much more video evidence do they need? I haven't seen a single "I was unjustly banned" post in a few weeks on here... So much for that banhamer swinging often right. If it wouldn't encourage more cheating I'd agree . Other than that I completely agree with you. I'll never understand why they took out elemental primaries... Oh wait, it was to artificially increase the difficulty rather than putting actual work into this game

Elemental burn on Primaries like the year 1 raid guns don't need balancing, burn is only useful in PvE, does nothing in PvP. Crazy that we only have the Zhalo as a viable Primary Burn option. Malice isn't worth consideration anymore in my eyes 🙁

This is a good idea, too bad Bungie never really cared about the communities ideas.
