It seems every iron banner I have to make this thread because despite this game mode existing in first person shooters for as long as I can remember as well as two years in destiny it still seems like the average player has no clue what they're doing in iron banner control:
1. See those letters? Those are zones. Stand in them for a bit. They give you points per kill based on how many you own. Having a zone gives you more points than if you had no zones. Two zones gives you more points than if you have one zone. More points means you win the game.
Points are good. Zones give you points. Capture the zones.
2. Don't capture all three zones. I know you just found out that holding zones means you win the game but don't get too greedy! If you take all three then all the enemies will start spawning all around you and you screw everything up. Screwing everything up for your team is bad. It makes you have less points. Less points means you lose the game. Losing the game is bad.
And there you go. Points are good. Zones give you points. Capture the zones. Ask yourself if you've captured a zone recently. Tell your friends about zones.
This has been your friendly reminder on how to play control.

Oh, that's how you play control!
-
1 AntwortenI thought control was like TDM game mode.
-
1 AntwortenYou could type up these posts until your fingers bleed. Those that you speak of will never get it nor will they care.
-
5 AntwortenIf you see a zone open, capture it. Unless you're in a party with a good squad, being disciplined and defending 2 zones is virtually impossible. I don't know why you strategists get so butt hurt over this, I've never been on a team that has captured all 3 zones at any point in the game and lost. Never.
-
The way I see it is if your team can hold all 3 zones without everything falling apart do it. But if you can't then holding 2 zones will still win you the game.
-
I've experienced a lot of this during this iron banner glad I'm not the only one.

9 AntwortenAnd to those randoms I play with on Shores of Time, if we have C & B, DON'T TAKE A. Thank you.
-
1 Antwortenyou get more points when you control 3 zones... it's called control for a reason...
-
You forgot: Control zones B and C on Shores of Time. Once you have B, leave A alone. Control zones A and B on Firebase Delphi. Once you have B, leave C alone.

2 AntwortenThe bounties don't require wins or captures. There is no incentive to reach level 5. The only efficient way to get loot is to finish the bounties as fast as possible. Therefore this post is irrelevant.
-
2 AntwortenInstructions unclear. Dick stuck in Zone B.
-
This post is rather pointless because most you match with will not stick to the plan. They just wont and most wont see this post..but i hear ya

What is control? :kappa:
-
On the Money. I played a game yesterday where I rushed to get B and not a single person helped me, nor captured A, our zone.... I was befuddled.
-
3 AntwortenThis is why I prefer Clash! The games are shorter and players play Control like Clash anyway!
-
3 AntwortenSometimes you do need to capture "a" and "c".. if only because your shitty team has no comprehension of how to play and aren't capturing ANY zones. I have been stuck in games with such a group of losers that I'm literally the only one capturing zones. The only one. "B" is almost impossible by yourself. So I've had to play the flip game with "a" and "c" all by myself before. (Having said that, I do understand the best way to play is capture the two closest to your spawn. It just doesn't always work that way).

Lock down is your friend! Gomfor all zomes!

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von ARCHER444: 11/11/2016 6:19:34 PMThe objective is secondary in IB. Why play the objective anymore?? Wins might help you rank up- but for what? There are no more packages for hitting rank 5. The bounties do not require wins and, while the vendor roll on the pulse is nice, I've gotten better drops just playing the game. Seriously- I gave up playing the objective, running to B flag by myself only to get obliterated by the enemy team each time. To keep rushing it any further makes no sense when there are always 3-4 people defending it. Take the loss, get the loot.
-
While I see you guys having a hard time dealing with teammates with clash instincts, I was having a hard time dealing with teammates that worry about my KD while I was doing the damn objectives.
-
What's a control?
-
What's a control point? Isn't every game mode just team death match?
-
So I'm supposed to hide in the back get the best K/D ratio I can right so I can brag to my friends right? We all get trophies for participation anyways, yay me!
-
3 Antworten1. don't ever waste your life trying to play the objective. your teammates never will and it hardly matters anyways since you only get objective points for captures, not for holding them. 2. don't ever try to be a useful team player. loot drops 100% randomly. so you can carry the team and get -blam!- all while every other asshole chasing butterflies in your spawn gets legendary loot drops. 3. don't use anything other than a shotgun because everything else sucks too much. 4. be a titan and panic slam. never use your super on groups or anything. 5. crap connection? you win 6. because you stop getting medallions after 5, be sure to quit every single game that looks hopeless once you hit the magic number. there will be little reason to stay since you probably wouldn't have gotten the loot to drop anyways. there you go. the perfect guide.

2 AntwortenWait what is a zone?
-
5 AntwortenHonestly I hate the way destiny does control. You can have more zones for over half the game and the other team can still win? BS.
