Activision really does have them by the balls don't they?
this saddens me.
i totally understand the need for income, i do. But last year was a perfect combination of micro-transactions and grinding for a free alternative.
now the free candy bags only give out old masks that everyone probably already obtained last year, they could have easily threw some of the new cosmetics in the loot table, but no.

9 AntwortenIt saddens me that people defend RNG microtransactions It is not a business trying to make a profit, it's price gouging. Its like going to McDonald's and paying $5 to get a mystery bag, and having to buy 59 bags to get the Big Mac you wanted in the first place. That wouldn't be accepted, so why do you blindly come to Bungievision's defence over the same practice? Look at warframe, a free game mind you, with free DLC, if anyone needed to profit over RNG microtransactions, it would be them, but they don't use them, if you want a certain item, it has a set price, you pay platinum and get said item. Then you look at Destiny, a game with a full retail price, and $30 and $40 DLCs, charging people up to $7 for an emote, and making them spend countless more on mystery boxes to get new items. Its unethical and should be discouraged

No cozmo posted in someone's thread. "Thanks for the imput, we're glad you're enjoying it, we're always looking on ways to improve live events." Needless to say the guy who made the thread was praising the event so naturally it was the only one replied to. Bungie really drops the ball on community interaction. Most other games managers actually spends hours in the community forums as well as sets up games with the community and raids and such. Deej amd cozmo are the only managers I kmow of who do not play or converse with the community regularly, if they did the community salt would be minimal. At least we'd know they actually cared about us and how we support their game.
-
The fact the event itself is nothing short of toss didn't help...if it added a few guns or something different to do then maybe but people keep lapping up microtransactions and bungie will keep doing it.
-
I find this years event just as lame as last years event. Only thing good that comes out of it is you get to see the fools that spent tons of real cash to get the mask. Just like last year. Anyone who actually wears the mask gets rediculed and called on it. Its like wearing a big tee shirt on your toon that says. "SUPER SCRUB"
-
Everything they gave out besides the sparrow basically can't even be used for most activities. Or at least gives a disadvantage to use it. I just can't believe so many people paid for this crap. If I was bungie. I'd do it even more seeing the money they probably collected because of it
-
5 AntwortenFor those saying it would make Bungie look weak to say anything, no, it wouldn't, plenty of game developers admit when they've made mistakes, and if anything, it makes them look stronger to own up to it.
-
9 AntwortenWhat do you want them to say exactly? It was shit the last time, yet you all lapped it up. They release the same shit again and now you are unhappy because microtransactions are present? Nobody is forcing you to buy anything, get over yourself.

What's the point here exactly?

3 AntwortenThe funniest part of festival of the lost has been all the streamers rushing out to blow 50 - 100 on boxes. Getting maybe 1 or 2 items they want, and a ton of duplicate trash items. Then making a buthurt video about how they dont condone microtransactions and they did it all for science. "Even though i just blew $100 on boxes to get a couple of cosmetic items i didnt even get, i want to be clear that i dont support it nor should you. Ps check out my $200 box opening on twitch when srl drops, all payed for by you sucke..erm i mean kind hearted subscribers"

Just remember it is a business....and Activision sucks :)

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von MuffsFatMan: 11/5/2016 7:30:22 AMIt's cosmetic stuff. Who cares? It's completely fine they are behind a payed wall. They are doing exctly what they stated when micro transactions came to destiny.
-
The destiny fanboys don't understand what bungie is doing, and probably never will. They will blindly accept microtransactions no matter how bad they get. And bungie will exploit that.
-
Omg I was on tubeyou(YouTube) and watching streamers pay and open boxes(paying up 80-200$). LMATFO, their faces are priceless man. I couldn't stop lol. It's like they had no control and at the same time full control when paying for boxes. If you have it and want that gear that can't be infused..hey..............sigh get it
-
The micro transactions are meant to fund live events but this FotL was on big micro transactions. Why fund micro transactions with micro transactions?
-
I never seen the point of festival of the lost. It is just doing the same things but with a stupid mask that has no value. Maybe if the masks could be infused or something like that it would be cool butwith rise of iron trying to look like skyrim i would rather just play skyrim...

Found it. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/216786864/0/0/1

Cozmo replied to someone's post, I'll see if I can find it.

1 AntwortenI understand the micro transactions, it's the rng that's involved with the micro transactions that kill me. They KNOW you want the ghost ghost so they give it the smallest drop chance. Smart on their end but kinda -blam!-ed up.
-
You guys know the only thing behind the boxes are masks right... Not guns not armor or shaders (which they are letting us get for free). I mean if you really care that much then the more power to ya fam
-
They already made their money 😂😂😂
-
1 AntwortenThey said they are listening to our feedback in an update I think. Might be a little different when SRL comes around ie. More ways to earn packages, better drop rates, guaranteed drops (that's all speculation though)

7 AntwortenOverwatch's Halloween event was an example of a dev getting it right. New cosmetics AND free new content that everyone could enjoy - Dr Junkenstein's revenge was free and fun and you could play it as much as you want. All the optional cosmetics were attainable for free or you could buy random packs but at the end of the day you could just craft what you want if you didn't get lucky. Pretty much the opposite of FotL. No new content and cosmetics that could not be obtained for free via normal gameplay and you couldn't craft anything if you didn't get lucky on the random boxes. It just feels like Blizzard's strategy for profiting is to delight the fans and make them happy, while Bungie's plan seems way more exploitive and based on squeezing money out of their fan base by making them feel like they're missing out on something. One strategy is about generating purchases by over-delivering while the other feels more about depriving the consumer into spending. This is why I felt great about spending $60+ on Overwatch micros but feel a gross conflict about Destiny's micros. Not to mention that all Overwatch DLC is free so I know purchasing micros is actually funding future content.

Candy bags only give jackodicks and batspawns from my exp.
-
Are you really surprised by this?

I am the only one here that dont give a crap about thoose masks? I mean, i did both quests with my main and was done with it (did only because i had a day off). I would never let a nightfall or a raid undone because of it.
