So I don't know when this happened (maybe sometime around 1 P.M. E.S.T this past Friday?), but I am seeing all over the forums that the radar is now considered a crutch relied on by people who think they are elite (but are actually terrible at this game in every possible way). Apparently, using an in-game mechanic that helps to make up for terrible audio cues is now considered "being a crutch player." These forums never fail to make my brain nice and toasty.
Edit 1: LOL we're somehow trending. Might respond to some of you, might not, IRDK. Have quite a bit of shit to do, so we'll see what happens.
Edit 2: I need to make this clear. At it's current state this game is shit, and I'm trying to avoid playing it because I need my sanity to finish my final paper. I was just interested in what people had to say about the topic. I do not have an opinion on the matter. Really couldn't care less at this point. But I do think they really need to look at more detailed audio cues in Destiny 2 if they truly are considering a "competitive" gameplay, regardless of what they do with the radar.

Yeah guys! Complaining about how I can only hear ppl jumping, shooting, and activating abilities is stupid! I'm the dumb one if I can't HEAR someone SPRINTING at me! Oh wait! There isn't any noticeable audio cues. I love no revives and I'd be fine with severely REDUCED radar but no radar is garbage. This ain't R6

3 AntwortenSo.. radar is the new trigger. I learned something today.
-
4 AntwortenPersonally I like no radar/no res, I play R6 and play(ed) S&D in the older cods all the time like it was the ONLY mode that I played no TDM no DOM or CTF just S&D all the time lol so for trials I was in my element :D

Funny, this community. Trials goes once without a radar, and now because you can fight without it (Even though we do it in PvE all the time) You're hot shit. Honestly, it's in the game, why is the concept of it being a crutch a thing in the first place? I'm not offended, just disappointed that we're busy worrying about how people will use the radar/minimap in a fps than actual issues involving game errors or bugs.

IT IS A CRUTCH YOU NOOB *equips matador* *goes invis* WHATRE YOU GOING TO DO WITHOUT YOUR CRUTCH GOD LEARN TO ADAPT SCRUB

3 AntwortenMentioning Destiny has terrible audio cues around the same time countless streamers and YouTube personalities are saying it just now? You should at least credit them.
-
1 AntwortenThe fact that people don't find an always on radar to be a crutch people lean on instead of having some situational awareness saddens me.
-
5 AntwortenIt absolutely is being how it gives free information and to many people rely on it. So many lame ass excuses like "audio Qs" or "campers". Do you not have eyes people? Do you know why destinys pvp will never be taken seriously? It's a shame too cuz bungie used to know how to make a great game.

5 AntwortenRadar/Mini Map is a crutch. Playing BF1, you no longer show up on the mini map while shooting and can not be spotted and stay on there constantly. It gives players a sense of playing what is in front of you, rather than playing off the radar. I enjoyed Trials this week but not enough to sweat it out for flawless this week. I'll stay on BF1, the superior FPS on the market currently.

1 AntwortenAlmost anything literally can be called a crutch now and days.

Carry me thru ToO brah

I really don't like the word "crutch." But all I'll say is that you can really tell the difference in people who need the radar and people who don't, just by looking at the way they play.
-
It's barely being recognized as a crutch? The way it's designed, Destiny's radar has always been a crutch in PvP.
-
6 AntwortenBecause the radars really good when people don't even show up on it lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqsHhYGhf1Q

3 AntwortenLet's talk about the guys that lag out and cry DDoS.

1 AntwortenI like the no revives better, feels like an actual elimination.

Radar makes it easier for people who actually have a life and don't play destiny all day
-
It lets you see shotguns coming, everyone shotguns of course it's a crutch 😡

Sorry, end of story. There's no argument for that. I agree with you 100%... Must be some sort of defense for having absolutely no logic in their reasoning?

3 AntwortenDestiny has terrible audio cues?
-
3 AntwortenDestiny as a PvP game is no where near the quality for any type of competitive play to have no radar and other such things. -The kids saying others crutch it are the trash cans sitting in a corner with a shotgun waiting for someone to walk by.
-
I've always liked the Inferno game types and in my opinion Trials shouldn't have a radar if it's for the "elite" PvP players. That being said, I don't see the radar as a crutch. If it's there, you'd be foolish not to take advantage of it, but you should be able to play without it as well.
