You are opening the door to the gaming industry to be destroyed. We should demand to see how much money Bungie has made off the Silver. I bet it is a s*** ton. For that amount of money we should not be paying for DLC's.
Example: GTA you can purchase in-game money and other things but they do not charge for thier DLC'S. They are still a very successful company.
Other companies are watching how much they are making and are taking notes. Trust me when I say this they will follow suite if Bungie keeps making a fortune on this silver and still charging for DLC's.
I've been gaming off and on for almost 30yrs now. Yes, I'm old (for a gamer), 38 to be exact I got the NES in 87' for christmas and been hooked ever since.
But I fear my gaming days are numbered the recent release of Gears of War with their in-game purchases along with $100 price tag for the game with the DLCs, and Battlefield costing $150. 150? That's half the price of a -blam!-ing console for crying out loud!
These companies have gone completely out of control gouging thier customers. It's insane!
This will be my last console.... Sadly I do not see a cap in the industry it is only going to get worse.
SO STOP BUYING -blam!-ING SILVER
Wow! I go to work and come home to see 900+ views! I am ejoying reading all the comments. Some are in agreement with me some are not. Keep it up we may even get a reply from Bungie.

You think people not paying for microtransactions is going to change anything? Look at Activision other games. All of them have microtransactions. Activision isn't the only company that does it, but they aren't going to stop because one game's doesn't sell, they'll just put something else in it the next time.

15 AntwortenBearbeitet von Dinkus McGee: 11/1/2016 11:29:14 AMAn actual 38 year old would know enough to not care nor nag people on how to spend their money. An actual 38 year old would mind their own business about something as trivial as a video game purchase. So I'm having a hard time buying it. Unless you're an "internet warrior" type that is set on trying to "save" all of us from ourselves. (Which is annoying, btw)

4 AntwortenLol calm tf down, at its current state silver only grants one cosmetic items which gives you no advantage over anyone in both pvp and pve. More money for a company means more money for bigger projects so I don't see what the deal is really. If you don't like what's in the cosmetic shop don't buy silver, simple as that. You can't tell people what to do with their money so good luck with trying to stop silver sales.

16 AntwortenAre you aware that the cash recived from silver purchases give bungie a bigger budget for their next dlc/game also why does anybody have to listen to you just because your salty about microtrasactions does not give you the right to tell people how to spend THEIR MONEY THAT THEY EARNED NOT YOU. And still why is this a problem its not like you need silver to progress in the game its just an extra feature to give the players extra emotes and to express a bit of their presonality

3 AntwortenIf you don't like the game then you can always quit playing. That's the only way that you get change as a consumer - speaking with your wallet. Bitching on the Internet gets you nothing.

5 AntwortenKinda wish people realized how bad the industry has gotten. The first argument I see when I mention the price of games is usually. "Well they still charge roughly the same amount that they did when games first started coming out." Well you aren't wrong this is very true however. At that time the people buying them were minimal in number so to keep things going they had to charge an amount that would allow them to keep production going. NOW however there are so many people out their that purchase games that even Indy companies selling games for 10-15$ are making decent profit. What else has changed? People have been lead to believe that the price should increase to sustain market. Ok so prices of games have increased anywhere between 60-90 without season pass and 100-150 for games with the season pass. And now most of these games have some sort of micro transaction in game. So where is all the quality that should be in the games with the price increase? Games are gutted to half the size and put out as a season pass. In games items whether cosmetic or not that should be in game are being nickel and dimed to line the pockets of bigger corporations like ea and activision. Meanwhile you as the consumer pay more for less and justify it with a well mannered well if you want them to keep making games they need to do this type of stuff. However I've seen no proof that this is the case. Where is the financial records? I honestly don't care if people read this but if you make it this far I hope you start thinking about yourself as a consumer. Let the corporate lawyers and businessmen worry about their company. You worry about keeping your money in your pocket and getting what you pay for.

A 38 year old man crying like a baby over something that really doesnt matter at all. You need to relax and enjoy how amazing games are.

21 AntwortenThey're making a nice profit at the cost of alienating more and more consumers with their "illegal/underage gambling" that preys on the weakest idiots out there. 👍
-
What are you talking about? I'm not giving them money. *as I unknowingly pull my wallet out my back pocket and proceed to stuff $20's into my Xbox.
-
I think what you meant to say was paying for things is fine but Bungie done bumped they damn head charging us for RNG.

102 AntwortenOnly gays would buy lil outfits for their made up characters. You can barely notice any of that shit while you're playing. People are pretty dumb.
-
2 AntwortenI really don't mind the micro transactions for cosmetic purposes ..it's a game .. it's meant to be fun and for my running round 'boo hoo crying' at my clan friends is fun! What I object to is Pay to Win.

Bearbeitet von PuRe Messoric: 11/1/2016 4:23:26 PMwhy is buying cosmetic items such a big deal? who cares if I spend $20 on silver 2-3 times a year? there is no items in destiny that give people an advantage which you can buy, you get masks, cosmetic armor and emotes, I see no problem with wanting to buy items that are purely cosmetic or have no impact on gameplay. what I do have a problem with is when a game has items you can buy or acquire with real life money that give any sort of advantage against other players, such as supply drops in CoD, as apposed to cases in CS: GO if you can tell me one problem with microtransactions in destiny that makes gameplay for others better or worse, please let me know, but I don't see any problems at the moment (I'm not claiming that there is no problems, but I just don't know of any)

Get a job.

3 AntwortenYou really lack an understanding of how microTs work or how other companies use them. Look at gears of war 4, halo 5, war frame, and you'll see bungie isn't starting the trend or even making it worse. I rarely play this game but I can tell you it's not even close to a bad system compared to the other games I've played.
-
You should get titanfall. No paid dlc and no micro transactions.
-
So basically you're telling me not to buy more silver. Then suggest that since Destiny makes so much money from silver being sold, you(who clearly doesn't like the idea of silver) should get all of the DLCs for free?
-
I've purchased so much Silver Shax came over the Tower comms and yelled "THIS IS AMAZING!!!"
-
Stop gaming all day and get a job with a decent pay check.
-
1 AntwortenI don't buy silver. I do buy DLCs. I've been gaming longer than you too. Charging for DLCs is nothing new and it's not going to change.

People can spend their money as they please. But I do agree that this game has gone down hill with its paywall.
-QA Test Engineer (a.k.a. AR IS4 NUBS)
At 38, don't you have more important things in life that you worry about, other than how other people spend their own money?
