Many have asked for it. A lot are convinced that Bungie is really going to do it. They promised there would be more content for Year 3 post-SRL, and what better way to do that than bring back Destiny's first Raid, along with one of the best Exotic guns that has ever existed in this game?
Here's how I imagine it could be done:
1. New Social Space: The Lighthouse
Okay, so the Lighthouse isn't technically "new"... but right now, it's just a big empty space you go to to claim your Flawless loot in Trials of Osiris. Considering it's connection to the Vex, the return of Vault of Glass is a perfect opportunity to flesh it out.
The new Lighthouse would be populated with new vendors, including two new quest-givers... and while anyone would be able to visit the lighthouse now, the Flawless loot chest would of course remain restricted to those who actually have Flawless Trials Passages.
2. New Lighthouse Vendors & Characters
Remember Praedyth? The lost Guardian who guided you through the "Paradox" mission in The Taken King? He would return- in a sense- as your guide through a new Story, and the primary quest-giver for the reprised Vault of Glass. There would be other vendors to interact with in the lighthouse as well:
-Spectre of Praedyth (Main Quest-Giver/Vault of Glass)
-Brother Jory (Main Quest-Giver/Crota's End)
-Oskar Hakke (Hakke Foundry Rep/Vendor)
-Damien Suros (SUROS Foundry Rep/Vendor)
-Viktor Omolon (Omolon Foundry Rep/Vendor)
The Spectre of Praedyth is a ghostly image of the Guardian Praedyth. He offers weekly bounties (much like Shiro-4) that give 500 Vanguard Rep apiece as well as Legendary engrams, and offers a new Weekly Patrol Quest specific to Venus each week. He also sells items specific to the Vault of Glass, including Vault Key Fragments- these are similar to SIVA Key Fragments and can be used to make Vault Keys that will award you extra loot in the Vault of Glass itself, or allow you to re-roll the perks on Vault of Glass armor.
Brother Jory is a member of the Cult of Osiris who has been hunting the last of Oryx's brood; Nokris, the Exiled Prince. He has tracked Nokris to the Oversoul Throne on the Moon, and serves as your guide to a reimagined version of Crota's End in which you must slay Nokris instead of Crota. He also offers Moldering Shards, which have been updated so that they can be used to re-roll the perks on armor from the Kings Fall and Nokris' Demise Raids, or used to forge Moldering Keys to unlock bonus loot in King's Fall and Nokris' Demise.
Oskar Hakke is one of the founders of the Hakke Foundry in the city, and offers ready-made Hakke weapons for you to buy. Unlike Armsday weapons, his stock does not change each week, but he and the other Foundry vendors have stock comparable to the Vanguard. Hakke's arsenal has also been expanded to include Hakke Sidearms, Machine Guns, and Rocket Launchers.
Damien Suros represents SUROS Foundry, which offers ready-made SUROS weapons. Like Hakke, his arsenal has been expanded; SUROS now offers Fusion Rifles, Sniper Rifles and Shotguns.
Viktor Omolon is the head of Omolon Foundry, and offers ready-made Omolon weaponry. His arsenal now includes Omolon Machine Guns, Pulse Rifles, and Sidearms.
All new Foundry weapons can also be acquired from the Gunsmith in the Tower, but the new Foundry vendors in the Lighthouse will allow you to simply purchase these weapons immediately with Legendary Marks rather than waiting a week for your Armsday orders to come in, or for Banshee-44 to sell the specific weapons you want.
3. Year 3 Vault of Glass.
In Year 3, the Vault of Glass's loot table features new weapons and armor all with unique models (much like King's Fall), as well as some old favorites, and all chests now have a chance to drop Exotics as well as Vault Key Fragments and Legendary Engrams. The Templar, Gorgons, and Atheon also have loot chests that can be unlocked with Vault Keys, as well as boss-specific challenges.
Year 3 Vault of Glass starts at 400 Light on Normal and 425 on Hard Mode. Challenges are as follows:
Templar- Destroy the Templar without him teleporting once.
Gorgons- Destroy at least 2 Gorgons in the Gorgon's Labyrinth.
Atheon- Defeat Atheon without a member of your Fireteam holding the Relic more than twice.
There is also an Exotic Quest to getting the Year 3 Vex Mythoclast. In order to get it, you must find 3 ket items in the Vault of Glass; the Templar's Mind Core, a Gorgon's Eye (requires killing a Gorgon), and the Heart of Atheon. Get all 3, and Praedyth will send on a quest across Venus and Mars to gather Vex technology needed to build the Vex Mythoclast, with a Quest Mission at the end that will award you the final piece.
4. Year 3 Crota's End: Nokris' Demise.
After you've conquered the Year 3 Vault of Glass on at least Normal, Praedyth will direct you another matter; the arrival of Nokris, the Banished Prince. The last son of Oryx, and brother to Crota. He has gone to the Oversoul Throne on the Moon where Crota was killed, and seeks to claim the mantle of the Taken King for himself. He urges you to speak to Brother Jory and put an end to Oryx's dynasty once and for all.
Nokris' Demise differs from Crota's End in several ways; though it follows the same path, the Raid now features the Taken, and the final boss is Nokris instead of Crota. The Bridge encounter would be fixed so that it can no longer be cheesed, and Nokris must be defeated in 2 phases much like Aksis in Wrath of the Machine. In the first phase, you must halt a ritual that will allow Nokris to absorb the soul of Oryx; the catch is that if you fail, you do not wipe. Instead, failing to disrupt the ritual will push you right into the second phase, and Nokris will be stronger than if you had succeeded in disrupting the ritual.
Completing Nokris' Demise awards a Year 3 version of Necrochasm; the Year 3 version has a new Taken skin and deals Void damage instead of Arc, and the Cursebringer perk has been upgraded to have a chaining effect; enemies caught in the blast radius of Cursebringer's explosion may be cursed as well, causing them to explode. This can chain up to 4 additional enemies; and yes, it would work on Guardians in the Crucible.
5. New Strikes and Reprised Strikes.
The Praedyth's Revenge update would include 1 brand-new Strike set in the Vault of Glass called the Perfected Mind, where you must stop the Devil Splicers from getting inside the Vault of Glass and reanimating the Templar with SIVA. There would also be re-imagined versions of The Nexus and Will of Crota. Both strikes now features Splicers and Taken enemies, as well as Taken versions of Sekrion and Omnigul.
The reprised Nexus strike is pretty straightforward; the Taken have seized control of Sekrion, Nexus Mind and are trying to use him to turn Venus into a machine planet- and through it, take control of all that the Vex have created. The boss fight works much like Morphon, Blighted Mind; as the battle progresses, Blighted Oracles will appear and generate an impenetrable shield around Sekrion that can only be brought down by destroying the Oracles.
In the Will of Nokris strike, Omnigul has also been Takenified; she also appears periodically throughout the Strike, and like Taniks, and damage you deal to her carries all the way to the end. She now appears in the first room where you fight the Fallen and Hive, giving you 3 opportunities to deal damage to her, and making the final encounter less tedious. There are also fewer enemies in the 2nd encounter in the Skywatch where you fight the Fallen; all of the Fallen in the Strike have also been replaced by the Devil Splicers.
The new Strike is called The Perfected Mind. It starts you out in The Cinders on Venus; your first objective is to track down a Splicer patrol and eliminate it's leader to gain access to the Vault of Glass. This involves an epic Pike chase all around Venus; your target is the leader of a trio of Pikes called Dreksis, Pikemaster.
For this chase segment, you have 3 upgraded Pikes with improve durability and unlimited boost. Chase down Dreksis and destroy his Heavy Pike to get the Splicer Codes, but watch out for other enemy Pikes coming up behind you, as well as the Shock Mines Drekis deploys behind him.
Once Dreksis is dead and you have the codes, go to the Waking Ruins and the Vault door will open automatically. Kill the Splicers guarding the entrance, then proceed inside to Templar's Well. When you get there, the boss will appear; a SIVA-infused Hydra called Varkrion, Perfected Mind. He deals Solar damage and has a secondary attack similar to Aksis where he can fire off SIVA Swarms. Finally, the Splicers have tapped into the Oracles just as the House of Wolves did, and will activate them periodically throughout the battle; destroy them as they appear, or your team will wipe.
Strike-specific rewards include the Perfected Timepiece- this is the same gun as Atheon's Epilogue, but it's now blue instead of bronze, and like Treads Upon Stars and Imago Loop, it can roll with random perks. There is also a gun based on the Fang of Ir Yut called Omnigul's Cry, which can only be obtained from the Will of Nokris strike and has the same aesthetics as Darkblade's Spite and Grasp of Malok.
6. Elemental Cores
Finally, the Praedyth's Revenge update would add a much-requested feature from the community... the ability to infuse weapons with different elemental damage, including primaries. Elemental Cores can be purchased for 20 Legendary Marks from each of the new Foundry Vendors in the Lighthouse, and can be used to change a weapon's elemental damage type.

I like your ambitious dreams, and I can kinda see them making old raids relevant again, as that would be an easy way to add some oomph to the game. Buuuuut, what you proposition seems like it would actually take quite a bit more work, and I don't see that happening. At this point, Id rather them perfect Destiny 2, and avoid mistakes they made in the original. Maybe little chunks of content like with the last April update would be fine, I'm sure they can squeeze a few of those in.
-
This would be epic! But as others have said, not going to happen. Bungie is too lazy to even re-use old assets this well. I expect they will bring back VoG to create maximum nostalgia to boost Destiny 2 pre-orders before they wipe all of our characters next fall. But it will probably be no where near this epic.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ahhsenberg: 10/12/2016 9:41:40 PMYet another post that they won't bother with. When will you people realize that they don't care about anything besides their own agenda? It's not that they don't know what we want(there have been so many repeated ideas with hundreds of bumps) or that they don't know how to implement it... it's that they don't think that it will be worth putting the resources into it. Why would they bother with anything when they can sell you a $30 Patrol DLC with little imagination or effort? Or maybe the fact that so many people stayed(and will continue to stay) with such shitty content disguised as "events" to push microtransactions instead of actually adding real content? I actually couldn't believe that they expect us to stay for another year with just a new Raid and IB to play. Have you all realized you've been exceedingly shit on the past two years? The only true progress this game has made was with Taken King, but that was a ripoff in itself for the people who already were with Destiny and bought the DLC. All Bungie cares about is money. They will put as little effort possible to appease their community to make as much money they can. We've all proven that they can lie, exploit, and shit on us without any blows to their bank account. Any hope for the potential of this franchise was lost once we let this happen. Seriously, they made their investments back in one week with the gutted PoS release version of Destiny. Then they made a ton more with all of their microtransactions(which they lied about not putting in), the on-disc DLC, and all of the other crap they've pushed. So why would they bother doing anything all that different in the future? I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like I've wasted so much time on this greedy company and this shell of a game. It's sad that a billion dollar company can get away with Destiny, but a 15 man company gets ripped apart for No Mans Sky. Destiny was marketed as a completely different game(look at the E3 stuff) and people even used quotes about it later on... then everyone accepted it and continued to support it. I wondered why - I guess it's all because gamers are the dumbest consumers of all time.

To long didn't read! (waving lightsabers around)

Xbox One Gamertag: Lnquiet. Trials and Raid carries.

This is cool and I really mean that but none of it will happen

3 AntwortenMy God u wasted so much time writing this. If they want to bring back the vault they'll do it how they want. And I promise they won't put half the thought into it that u put into this post
-
This doesn't go with lore at all considering oryx is dead so there can't be new taken things, even if they did do it though, why do you want more taken? We had a whole year with them, how about new enemies? Maybe a planet with straight up forests on it, or I'm not sure, but you have to consider lore and what not before wasting your time like this

Bearbeitet von iamswyp: 10/13/2016 3:24:29 AMEverything I agree with apart from elemental cores. 100 marks imo is better. Don't make it too easy to put an element on

You should work for bungle lol

I'm starting to get jaded on ROI. I feel like we need another big update in a week and this would suit just fine :)

3 AntwortenSadly... This is it for Destiny 1. Other than IronBannerand / Sparrow Racing. We're finished.

Bearbeitet von sheldor1900: 10/13/2016 2:50:23 AMI hear Rise of Iron is the last expansion for Destiny 1 and I can't think of a better way to end the game getting back taking out the vex
-
Praedyth back hmm what if they made it like a titan hunter and warlock vender with praedyth, Pahanin because it is rumored he lived after watching Kabr die, and Kabr where like you took felwinter peak and it became a base you fight the vex opening like a time bridge or something and Kabr steps out. Or bringing back the exo stranger.

Too little price for elemental cores, but everything else is great!

You have a very creative mind, I hope your vision becomes reality.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Nnoremac: 10/13/2016 1:14:29 AMIt's amazing how so many paragraphs is actually insanely small in a game. All of that is like 2 hours of gameplay. And lighthouse should remain an exclusive area And stop asking for elemental primaries, bungie already stated how against the idea they are. With good reason too

Bump.
"Takenified"
3 AntwortenAhem, hey Bungie, HIRE THIS MAN!
-
I like it. The return of Taken was a great way to say: "Hey, even though Taken King is a year old doesn't mean you should forget Oryx and those annoying Taken Psions!"
-
I would like to see most of this in the game, it would be awesome.
-
I likee, crosses fingers
-
Bumping just because I want it back. I could care less how they do it, but it's still my favorite sniper and I will always love it

Amazing update, I wish Bungie would incorporate at least some of your ideas for any upcoming updates
