Sooo is anyone else out there NOT hating this Iron Banner?
I see a lot of posts on Reddit and on YouTube about people spitting hot acid about this Iron Banner...but I'm not gonna lie, I've been LOVING it. I like the fluidity of matches because there are no set objective points (if the crests are the objective, everyone has to stay mobile to find/collect/deny them), the tactical coordination that has to happen between you and your team in order to get kills and then score crests, and most of all, the use of PRIMARY WEAPONS IN GUN FIGHTS. I can't remember a time in PVP where primaries have been so prevalent, having to use them to close the gap and pick up crests.
And yes, I know there are a lot more shotgunners with this IB, but that just makes sense for this game type. Because of the fast and mobile nature of supremacy, it just doesn't make sense to hang back and snipe, because the crests just sit there while you walk 500 miles to pick it up, or hope you have a teammate nearby to get it for you. BUT, my friends and I have also been having success using sidearms AND fusion rifles in the secondary slot to counter shottys. In terms of variety, I've quite literally never played the same game of supremacy twice. I've stayed in lobbies with teams to keep playing against each other and the match results vary from game to game, which I think is great. And obviously the loot drops are ridiculous, which is frankly just the cherry on top.
Bottom line, I feel like this is a great Iron Banner iteration. If you're complaining about the lack of sniping ability, it might be because this really isn't the game mode for the slower, more conservative and STRATEGIC play style that tends to come with sniping. It's fast, TACTICAL, and just a little bit chaotic, which equates, in my opinion, to what a video game pvp arena should be: fun. as. hell.

TL;DR- People are hating on this IB cause they can't snipe, I'm loving this Iron Banner because you can literally use any other gun and have success. It's nice to have a Banner roll through that's not all sniper glints across the lanes all day. Learn to switch it up and enjoy yourselves, Guardians.

I did enjoy this iron banner more then the others. The game is just down right fun, and fast paced. The only issue I have with it however, is the fact that I kept getting the same guns over and over and have no chance now to get the other weapons. Four weekly bounties and nothing else? Great for ranking up fast.. but when the drop system screws you over.. yeah, shitty.. I feel there should be daily bounties on offer so you still play the game while IB is up, and have more chances to get all the weapons. And yes, I did play on all three of my characters, hit rank five on all of them, and finished all four bounties.. still got the same guns that I already got, or got dropped in the rewards.. I think if the gun drops in the rewards, it should not drop from packages, that way you are more likely to get all the weapons.

The first 2 days, loved it, now I hate it. My drops have come to a screeching halt, right around the same time I started getting put strictly into mercy matches

I got to rank 5 on all three of my characters. I loved it. Yes some matches were mind numbingly stupid with my team just getting off the short bus, but I went 19/0 one game. (Look at my Warlock on xbox the map was Skyline) only gripe I had with it was the new maps hardly showed up at all. I can think of 4 times I played on them so far. GG bungie.

1 AntwortenAside from the terrible lag I've been having putting my k/d in the garbage can, it's been great. I'm gonna make a compilation of all the people I've shotgunned in back point blank that spun around killed me and then floated away.

Instead I keep getting garbage I have to scrap because it isn't worth infusing. It's really starting to bother me. I would be happier if I could close the game between the 385's using the most broken guns and myself. Then I wouldn't be taking a damage % modifier and my enemies JUST surviving by the hair of their butt cheeks, meanwhile my monkey teammates keep running face first into the enemies screaming "KILL ME!" by their selves.

The problem with this Iron Banner though is that because of how this game mode works, it forces players to play more aggressive. One game I was playing with Mida and I mainly sat back and picked people off. I had 23 kills and a 4.6 kd. But because I wasn't playing super aggressive I was near the bottom of the leaderboards. You shouldn't have to be forced to play a certain way.

I get it, my light level is lower, but thats why I'm trying to play IB. To get better gear, not be shot in the face repeatedly by a whole team who have 90% of the end game content at crazy light levels. Long story short Destiny's MM needs to spread these high light players out more when setting up teams and start making games happen on a more level field, instead of this Ant vs Flamethrower thing thats happening now. >.>

I enjoyed it even after getting my ass handed to me on quite a few occasions did really well in the clash and control Iron Banners, Supremacy was sweaty asf but I still enjoyed it hit rank 5 on all 3 by friday night had every weapon, both shaders the sparrow 2 emblems a ghost, full hunter set, and almost full sets on the other 2 by the end of it. might jump on later just to grind for more ghosts and higher ligh gear tonight and tomorrow.

I enjoyed it got the hand cannon, scout, side arm, shoty, ar, sparrow and got my light up to 386 started at 374. Overall I'm happy

1 AntwortenI don't hate the mode, I've just hated having to play it for hours in what felt like the same maps and everyone using shotguns. I get why the new maps are being used, but they are just so close quarters for the most part; then combine that with the game mode it felt very repetitive. The other complaint I have is the matchmaking being broken. I literally kept jumping into game after game coming between 1st to 3rd place and losing by 50-100 points. It must be because people are staying in fireteams, but bungie really need to fix it.

Don't hate it but i prefer control. Everyone actually seems to understand how control works. Been running into ppl who either have no clue how crests work or just plain refuses to deny or claim.

Aside from the fact that hardly ANYONE is using their primaries. It's either matador, conspiracy theory, last ditch, or the 44 curtain call. All while sliding.
