Don't sleep on warlocks. Warlocks are mostly viewed as unhelpful in raids because all they can do is clear a lot of enemies and self res right?
wrong
Warlocks can add to the dps -blam!- that is tethers and bubbles, but no one I've ever raided with seems to know this. Just put on fusion grenades, touch of flame and Viking funeral. With these perks a fusion grenade does almost as much as a gjallarhorn shot, but wait there's more. Viking funeral causes the boss to take more damage while they are burning and stacks up to 3 times. So basically, what you gotta do is pop that radiance and start chucking fusion grenades, then watch as Aksis starts melting.
To make this even more effective;
1) Use the praxic fire chest and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow.
2) Max your discipline and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow
3) Pair with a tether and weapons of light and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow.
I would recommend still using fire born so that you can self res if needed, but don't hesitate to pop your super when it's dps time.
In conclusion; tether + weapons of light + this = batshit insane dps.

2 AntwortenThought I was one of the few people who remembered funeral Viking

From what I've heard raze lighter deals a lot of damage to him

All three subclasses work out fine for this raid. Add clearing stormcallers, captain smashing Nova Bombs (and healting grenade kills help out a bunch!) We ran with 4 warlocks on my first run, and it went like a dream right up until Aksis (though that was because we were getting used to the fight and kept fumbling the mechanics, not a DPS issue). Sunbreakers too. There's nothing stopping you from Melting Point the boss. -- Wouldn't you not want to run Fireborn, because it lowers your super time? I'd imagin Song of Flame would be better, as the team could whip out grenades between reloads to squeeze in more damage.

I used solar nades and I would throw one put a snipe in Hus head throw one snipe rinse repeat, max damage output. That is for phase two, then on third I used a bade and all others and cannon as much as possible. Always use cannon. Fire at aksis while he is waitu g to be stunned. ( you can shoot his head while it is crouched down as well) and before the last bomb is thrown you can damage him during the teleport. Max damage. Trather weapons of light solar bade with tof vf. Solar last longer burns longer. Hope this helps anyone

2 AntwortenSunbreakers with VF and a tether. Aksis ends up waving a white flag.

Those cannons are the best bet,but seriously hold the -blam!-ing trigger down!

15 AntwortenPpl who main WARLOCK pve suck because they rely on SR. I've seen many ppl switch to a hunter or Titan and die constantly
-
I did only this because I wanted to test it. I got 1.5 million just using fusion nades. #Tamponmasterrace

1 AntwortenCan't tell you the amount of times I've been called useless because of my class. I've been told by people to main another class because "There is no point in playing a useless class" -blam!-ing hate a lot of people in this community

9 AntwortenStormcaller is far more valuable in taking down the captains & leftover shanks, while saving heavy hitting ammo. I rather have 6 people firing Gjallarhorns, Sleeper, Raze Lighter & Black Spindle at the boss with ALL their ammo, as opposed to having to waste a few shots to take down the annoying cannon captains. 1 sunsinger with burn damage (who could be chosen to be empowered and need to move), is less valuable in terms of DPS than 6 people firing off their entire inventory at him.

1 AntwortenWhat about solars? Just curious. I've been running sunbreakers since year 1, there a reason you say to use fusions instead?

2 Antwortensolar grenades.... then your team can actually take advantage of the Viking funeral debuff

Thats a good idea. Right now im running voidwalker with lance and bigger explosions because that almost 1 shots the captains. It always 1 hit kills the void captain, the others will keep a little bit of health when i did it as a 366 lock. But i do like this plan and might even give it a shot.

4 AntwortenIf the viking funeral perk lasted for more than the grenade throwing animation then sure. By the time my weapon is ready it's gone. Great idea and as a warlock main I love the love. But, bungo has thrown an uncontrollable metal rod in the gears of your plan.

Make sure you are using the cannons. Especially if you have a group under 370.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von WurstGulasch_111: 10/2/2016 6:12:48 PMThis is some good idea. I faced aksis with my warlock yesterday for the first time. Couldn't beat him, but that will get done tonight. What i'm going to do this time: Solar grenades with viking funeral, touch of flame and sunbreakers. I''ll throw a nade before damaging him with the scorch cannon. Throw another nade if the first one runs out. I don't think you'll get to do top damage for just radiancing him with fusions, viking funeral, touch of flame and Hotpf instead of using your guns, but it's definitely worth a try.

Just save the shock cannons for 3rd teleport and when he teleports to the final explosion.
-
4 AntwortenIf using fusion grenades, use Starfire Protocol! Double fusion grenades and is much better than HotPF.

I feel like that will be the last time we ever raid. There's not gonna be a tomorrow

3 AntwortenWhen you realize that ToF doesn't stack with tether....

9 AntwortenI remember back in year 1 when hunters were viewed as useless in raids because they had no support class. I just find it comical how things change I guess... because to be honest, I always felt like the 3 classes complimented each other very well in raids.
-
8 AntwortenDPS is useless if you can't get the mechanics straight. At 368 I'm rarely ever the reason we wipe and still haven't made it through phase 2. I'll have to finish leveling up my Sunsinger and give this a try.
-
I refuse to use self Rez in the raid anymore, storm caller has carried so many raid teams (my raids teams at least) to victory. Clearing out waves of ads or taking down 1-2 cannon captains during the final boss so my teammate doesn't have to waste heavy or their super is a huge help. To be honest I rather have a hunter run golden gun with nighthawk. Keyhole damage is amazing. Sunbreaker Titan can punch the boss too if we need the extra damage. This raid takes a lot of gun skill over mechanics. I enjoy the challenge of switching it up.

2 AntwortenFellow warlock here Good on you guardian .. nice to see that some ppl realize bubble and tether are less effective that touch of flame Viking funeral combos Simply it's a throwable melting point !! Used ever 30 seconds to add xtra DPS as compared with 3 or 4 mins
-
Well sunsingers who use self res are only useful to other classes if they have that skorri artifact.
