Don't sleep on warlocks. Warlocks are mostly viewed as unhelpful in raids because all they can do is clear a lot of enemies and self res right?
wrong
Warlocks can add to the dps -blam!- that is tethers and bubbles, but no one I've ever raided with seems to know this. Just put on fusion grenades, touch of flame and Viking funeral. With these perks a fusion grenade does almost as much as a gjallarhorn shot, but wait there's more. Viking funeral causes the boss to take more damage while they are burning and stacks up to 3 times. So basically, what you gotta do is pop that radiance and start chucking fusion grenades, then watch as Aksis starts melting.
To make this even more effective;
1) Use the praxic fire chest and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow.
2) Max your discipline and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow
3) Pair with a tether and weapons of light and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow.
I would recommend still using fire born so that you can self res if needed, but don't hesitate to pop your super when it's dps time.
In conclusion; tether + weapons of light + this = batshit insane dps.

All you need is be 380 and use a cannon...

3 AntwortenDoes Weapons of Light buff apply to grenades/melees/supers??? I was under the impression it effected weapon damage only.

You can easily get aksis to half health with viking funeral, weapons bubble and a tether all active. Here is our clans raid group lineup: 3 hunters, 2 warlocks, and 1 titan. On the first round of damage, 1 warlock activates their viking funeral on aksis and everyone shoots with their devils dawn sniper rifle. On second round of damage, we have 1 hunter shoot a tether, titan drops their weapons bubble and if done correctly, the 1st warlock still has their radiance for viking funeral. This round, we finish off our clips of our snipers then switch to either the gally or the captain cannons. (At the end of this damage round, we are under 1/3rd damage already). On the last round of damage, we start off with 1 tether, and a viking funeral warlock. The titans bubble will last through the rest of this round, so everyone is meeting in the bubble doing bonus damage. Once the 1st tether in this round is done, the 2nd and last tether is shot. We finish off the ammo of the captain cannons and in our gallys and we end up switching to our raid scout riffles to do damage till the boss displays "immune" markers for our bullets. We run to the 1st pillar on the left, and check our damage. It's consistently well beneath the comma. We down the boss in two runs all the time. The only thing we do differently is that we save up 6 rockets from all the captain cannons to finish off aksis on his final 1% mechanic. That's 2 rockets left on all 3 cannons. It only takes 6 shots from these cannons to down aksis. Nothing more. Sometimes we only use 4-5 cause people dot watch their ammo, but when that's the case, we have the other 3 people using their primary to help out in dps.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von HackStarfish: 10/3/2016 4:31:25 PMI do this but with sunbreakers and solar nades. He literally gets covered with the things and he is more solar nade than boss

8 AntwortenI don't sleep on warlocks. They are not squishy like hunters and they hurt my back.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von VoodooN88: 10/3/2016 4:00:14 PMHaving a couple key class toons is all that's needed... The other members are either backup or dps... If you have to rely on supers etc then it's being done wrong. Ive used all 3 classes since year one and they all tear the crap out pve when I Pull the trigger. Its more about staying alive and using the right weapons. Don't get me wrong... A defenders bubble or a hunters invisibility can be invaluable... But ultimately it's the skill and weapons used that make the difference. (and yes... The Warlocks selfres)

4 AntwortenI am partial to Stormcaller for the raid personally. I can't assist with my super to DPS the boss but it can absolutely melt the captains against Vosik and Aksis and helps tremendously at controlling the ads on against the death zamboni.

Bearbeitet von Brimstone: 10/3/2016 3:14:53 PMYou do know Solar Flare + Sunbreakers would be a better choice for a Sunsinger? Especially since that guy can't move. ^this is absolute madness This is the math behind it https://m.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/4o2bl5/sunsinger_pve_dps_230_solar_or_fusion_grenades/

That's if you manage to make the 3 story jump in less than a century

Awesome idea

Fusion? *triggered* NERF FUSION RIFLES!!!

20 AntwortenMaybe some Year 1 Warlocks will feel the pain of being called useless like us Hunters did in VoG.
Not sorry at all
3 AntwortenJust use the cannons the other three people combined can't compare to one person with a cannon. I do like 140k with weapons and tether for 9 shots. Do the math u can't out damage me with grenades
-
4 AntwortenJust to add, fusions give you 2 stacks of viking funeral automatically. If you don't have 2 grenades or don't super you can never have 3 stacks......unless, you use solar grenades. Solar grenades automatically gives 3 stacks of viking funeral. Also, I believe somebody on reddit tested it, but a warlock with viking funeral, solar grenades, max discipline, and sunbreakers can out dps one using fusion grenades while using their super. Will link when I find it.

6 AntwortenIt's not the damage people have problems with. People just can't stay alive.

Warlocks are a must have once again. It's nice to see them useful

7 AntwortenPull out your Sleepers too :) haven't tried it myself but I've heard good things

29 AntwortenOnly run voidwalker on the raid. Health on grenade kill, energy drain to build super with super on nade kills gauntlets, nade energy on melee hits. Supers and health regeneration all day. Select lance and tata captain (the only "dangerous" part of the whole raid lol) . Personally think self rez is a pretty selfish super. Rarely does it come in clutch. And it makes people play reckless because they have that extra life. Radiant skin is decent if your using it to create orbs and clear out ads. But holding on to a super for an extra life is pretty selfish, even if you you have the artifact that builds team mates super a second faster. Still wouldn't choose any other subclass than voidwalker.

12 AntwortenAlso, just fyi.... Raze Lighter works great on Aksis. ;)

7 Antworteni have trouble to even find 5 people to play with

Ran with a ridiculously good group last night. Made Aksis look like the biggest bitch.

I still remember playing CE and how so many warlocks just ran sunsinger to sel-rez when they die even though voidwalker was sooo good and such a blast to play. Honestly I think self-rez does more damage to the game then good. It utterly breaks so many mechanics and is super harmful to gameplay as you just save your coolest ability for when you die, which is kinda lame imo. I've always much more enjoyed playing as stormcaller or voidwalker to clear adds then just be able to self-rez but I guess part of that is how much you die.

1 AntwortenWonder how dragons breath would do then
-
this is so true - the debuff is amazing with Touch of Flame and Viking Funeral - The only difference I did was run solar grenades and the sunbreakers (exotic guantlets) you get 2 'nades - and when they stick they cause continuous damage and keep the burn going for the debuff on the boss.
-
Easier option is to be a higher level, any class can smash Aksis if they are not underlevelled.
