Don't sleep on warlocks. Warlocks are mostly viewed as unhelpful in raids because all they can do is clear a lot of enemies and self res right?
wrong
Warlocks can add to the dps -blam!- that is tethers and bubbles, but no one I've ever raided with seems to know this. Just put on fusion grenades, touch of flame and Viking funeral. With these perks a fusion grenade does almost as much as a gjallarhorn shot, but wait there's more. Viking funeral causes the boss to take more damage while they are burning and stacks up to 3 times. So basically, what you gotta do is pop that radiance and start chucking fusion grenades, then watch as Aksis starts melting.
To make this even more effective;
1) Use the praxic fire chest and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow.
2) Max your discipline and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow
3) Pair with a tether and weapons of light and spam those grenades like there is no tomorrow.
I would recommend still using fire born so that you can self res if needed, but don't hesitate to pop your super when it's dps time.
In conclusion; tether + weapons of light + this = batshit insane dps.

1 AntwortenI can see myself popping radiance and the fireteam kicking me because they do not understand
-
3 AntwortenThe number of times I heard warlocks say something like "I'm going for that Ammo/Engram/Rune/Offering/Glimmer, I may die, but it's okay, I have selfres." Or from this week; "I can't stun both left and front mid, I'm on my warlock, I'm too slow." Or the worst so far (Frustrated) "I can't cover back mid!!!" (Almost crying) "My warlock is too slow and doesn't jump that high." The problem indeed often isn't the (sub)class, but the person playing it needing the selfres to even have a chance to have some sort of contribution to a fireteam's success.

I came to help a team last week and it turns out there are a lot of Warlocks in the group. One person said we are scared to die that's why we are Warlocks. Dumb as hell. Then I told them about this and they don't even know what Viking funeral is. -blam!-ing casuals.

3 AntwortenThere's a reason worlds first had no warlocks
-
5 AntwortenViking funeral and touch of flame barely add any damage multipliers, nothing compared to what tethers and bubbles do. Why would I want a warlock if I could just have 3 bubbles and 3 tethers. Plus I'd always prefer to have a stormcaller on my team over a sunsinger any day of the week.

Bearbeitet von ActualMagnum: 10/5/2016 6:40:30 PMSounds like a fantasy. Most warlocks have trained themselves to use their super to revive thenselves over their destiny career, the lot of them are just useless in raids unless they do storm caller then they are helpful.

5 Antwortensomething me and my friends have found out is that arclock is really good too essentially rip captains and other gay adds if the DPS ain't that good on Aksis pop that arclock and eat ass
-
4 AntwortenDatto tested it out viking funeral doesnt stack with bubble and teter

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kilo: 10/5/2016 7:03:28 PMI'd say warlocks can output more dps because of the transversive steps. With the raid gloves there is heavy everywhere so you don't have to reload gally or sleeper. You can probably fire twice as many rockets as anyone else.

Fun dat sunbreakers all day

If I had a proper Sunsinger in this group (he wasn't using Viking Funeral), I could've finally hit the 5 million mark. :(

3 AntwortenExactly! I maimed a Lock in Y1, and Sunsinger is as powerful as it's ever been PvE-wise. You can't sleep on that space magic ;)
-
So what you're saying is, there's no tomorrow?
-
3 AntwortenSolars with sunbreakers should be better. Duration of the grenade adds to the duration of Viking funeral. Plus 2 charges = throw as fast as possible.

Just experienced this last night. We needed 1 at phase 2 and were looking for more DPS and a 365 warlock came in. Some sighed cause they wanted 370+ but we had a tether + weapons and then his viking grenades....we almost got Aksis in 3 damage rounds. We were a happy raid team after we got our new warlock buddy.
-
8 AntwortenIt's only 5% per stack. Burn time is short, better for them to focus on firing than throwing grenades.
-
7 AntwortenWhile you make a good point, your entire argument is based on the false premise that Warlocks who run Sunsinger are willing to let go of their selfish crutch.
-
2 AntwortenI was thinking about this and wanted to how much you could, get to with Tether+Weapons of Light with Illimunated+ Melting Pont + Viking funeral, although I was thinking of doing it with solar grenades so that people wouldn't have to pop there super. Should be 225% or 293% depending on how they stack.
-
2 AntwortenBearbeitet von CovertMcgirt: 10/3/2016 9:12:34 PMThe only problem with that is the reason why most people run sunsinger is for Fireborn. They are normally too scared( especially in raids) to pop their super otherwise. This way they can always dodge the blam for their lack of skill and diying. First you Sunsingers gotta find the balls to be able to pop your super and not have the safety net under you anymore. #truth

Okay, listen here, I'm going to try this, I swap to self-rez in raid in strikes just because everyone expects me to, but now, I shall try this, I already have the chest piece + max discipline... I like radiant skin more than self-rez, so I shall try this, and in the event that this fails after numerous attempts and my team gets mad at me, I am going to blame it on you.

15 AntwortenSee this is my problem with Warlocks, in order to be good they need help, while a Titan with weapons of light is good on its own with rockets, and a nightstalker is good on its own with rockets. Warlocks are one of those coincidental classes. For instance if no one is good on the nightfall and keeps dying a sunsinger would be useful. That's it, I just explained the entire point of warlocks

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Iyrha: 10/4/2016 2:05:36 PMI'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who knows of this, though I would say that Radiant Will is better than Viking Funeral (especially if you already have a tether and/or WoL), since the extra grenades you get due to the extended super outweigh the little bit of extra damage you do with Viking Funeral stacks (this is just my opinion, feel free to run whichever you want, both are great). Also, make sure you are running either Song of Flame or Radiant Skin, so that your base super duration isn't decreased (running one of these + Radiant Will makes the super last really long).
-
2 AntwortenTether overrides the damage buff from Viking Funeral So if you have a Nightstalker in the group this approach won't work (also Tether provides the better damage buff). It does stack with Weapons of Life tho.

10 AntwortenThis isn't VOG anymore, you -blam!-. Warlocks have passed their prime of usefulness in the raids. Don't get salty because no one needs you to push a boss of a ledge anymore. Hunter is best because of a tether that sticks to anything and generates max orbs. Titan is OK for the bubble. Warlock is.........? "Oh, use the fusion with Viking funeral!" Haha what a joke.
