Every game its just blink, roll, slide shoulder charge shotgunners 1 shotting across the room. This is the reason I left Destiny 1 year ago because I had enough finally. Shotguns have been a problem since launch. Bungie "nerfed" them once but then gave everybody Conspiracy Theory D with crazy range AND rangefinder on it. Now the Matador is the only weapon in Crucible until Gally comes out on Heavy, there are very few players using primaries.
The really flawed game design with shotguns is that there are so many ways to close the distance effectively, they do not need the kind of insane range that they have if you have things like blink, shoulder charge, slide etc. Range should be toned down a fair amount from 6m to about 4-4.5m. If they do have range then they should have at least a 25% slower fire rate so they cannot be mashed from mid range in 2 shots. The kill times are stupid at the moment when compared with other "options".
I would also argue that the cone of fire from a shotgun is thick enough that it shouldnt need the largest of cross hairs to aim it. That big white ring of death for a cross hair really shows that shotguns take 0 skill or strategy. In the current state, pvp is at its worst ever due to the shotgun situation and its driving more of my friends away from pvp and the game in general.

It's much better than the camp at the back of the map with a sniper rifle era just a few weeks ago. I feel that the pace of matches has picked up again. Variety of primaries being used and a good mix of mid and close range battles. Shotguns are in a good place. The only thing that winds me up is storm trance.

Special weapons are the problem. Buff weak primaries, Nerf all special!

High caliber and armor piercing perks to autos have been changed to add range now, not higher impact. The arminus d was great with these perks but now since roi drop it really has bad stability.

9 AntwortenImo, shotguns need buffing. Their range falloff is beyond unnatural, and they also need consistency. Why is it that point blank may or may not kill at times? Why is it that a range where u failed to kill, someone else does? Crucible's main issue is consistency, or lack of it. It is not like other games with good pvp where if you died you are fairly certain it was a fair death versus thinking to yourself "This is truly utter bs". Crucible is like that, utter bs 8/10 times. Doesn't matter if your KD is rank 1 or bottom, the pvp of this game is horrid.

7 AntwortenIn Supremacy...yes, there are a lot of shot guns... that's because of the mechanics of that game. It's all about close combat and my fist in your face. In most other games I still see a wide variety of secondary weapons. Crucible has a lot of primaries to chose from. We have variety right now. The only problem I see is blink and shadestep. Pound for pound, blink and shadestep avoid dying a lot more than those who don't have that ability. That's just fact.

From what I have been seeing is a majority of people have adjusted to shotgun rushers. You are still going to get quite a few slide shotgunners but overall if you pay attention to your radar you have a decent chance to kill someone before they can close the gap.

Other than universal remote, until the sniper nerf shotguns complaints were quiet. To this I'm sorry your game does equate my characters shoulder to my characters head. [spoiler][/spoiler]: No land beyond is not really a normal primary. Your load out is too much long range and not enough short range. A doctrine, grasp, or last word would help you manage shotgun rushers.

It's all perspective. Shotguns used to have much longer range. Felwinters was the go to gun. Shotguns now are quite fair I believe. Even long range shotguns today pale in comparison to a good role on felwinters and found verdict.

Just shut the -blam!- up right now. Shotguns in destiny are easily the worst in any game. I've played halo with shotguns and felt like I was cross mapping people. The issue you're having is the lack of other good weapons. Fusions, sidearms, hand cannons, and autos have all been nerfed into uselessness, so the obvious option is to buff those weapons, or do what I do. Only play private matches with friends

People use weapons with oneshot potential, that's why shotguns and snipers are essential choice. Shotguns are popular now because snipers nerfed+they returned matador, which is the strongest boomstick in whole game. Sidearms have no oneshot potential and fusions are really slow and cant be used on reaction.

The problems are the maps and the movement capabilities of our Guardians. It becomes pretty easy to close the short gaps on these maps.
